Garrett character was very weak minded and couldn't make decisions very well to be an army ranger. and his x wife was a whiny bitch you got the teenagers pretty good, I would have killed off Alice and gone with Wren. The overall story was just to much like the other doomsday books and the characters just didn't have enough to carry the storyline. A bit boring and nothing special. I did read all three but I just like to finish things. .one reason I do not like to write reviews is how many words you have to write.
.Enjoyed this series from books 1 to 3. I think this final book finished the series well. This is my first journey into EMP rather than zombie fiction and it was a nice change. Good characterisation and storyline. I will look out for more from this author.
No build up, no character details, thought the "hero" was too nice, I know nice is a good thing but when the world ends and your protecting your family you have to be an ass. The situation with his ex wife was ridiculous. I did think the author was getting together a good group of characters and setting up what could be a really good story. So I might read book 2 just to see if the story gets a little better.
The story is little slow and confusing at times. The doubts and feelings of the supposed hero are baffling. He seems so strong and capable but then his thoughts are all mixed and seem contradictory. It's a good story but a hero should be able to lead.
