Angel Cay #4

Still Her SEAL

Rate this book
In the fourth sexy book by New York Times bestseller Anne Marsh, Rohan MacCarthy—former SEAL commander and co-owner of the Search and SEALs canine-training business—married impulsively before shipping out for a final tour of duty. Now this SEAL is home and ready to settle down, but he’ll have to convince the colorful and free-spirited Hindi Alvarez to give him a second chance.

You’ve seen the picture. The one where the returning sailor sweeps a lovely lady off her feet, kisses her, and they all live happily ever after? That’s not what happens when I come home.

Three years ago, I met a girl, we fell in love, and we got married on the beach in the Florida Keys. Then I went back to my SEAL team and she launched a career designing lingerie (yes, I’m a lucky man). While I fought in the sandbox, she became the star of a reality TV show because her stuff’s that good. Hindi’s loud and colorful and everything I’m not. She lives for the moment and tying her down would be like forcing a firefly into a jar.

I’d like to let her go. I should let her go. We’re explosive when we’re together, and that’s not just the sex (which is amazing). She drives me crazy. I need to be in control and I’m too serious, too sober, and way too old for her. The problem is, she’s special. She takes my breath away, makes my heart beat faster, and I have a sinking feeling that I’m still her SEAL no matter how many miles and years there are between us.

Anne Marsh is a sucker for a grumpy hero who falls hard, a sunshine heroine who won't back down, and small towns where everyone knows your business (but shows up with casseroles anyway).

A New York Times and USA Today bestselling author with 30+ romance novels, Anne writes contemporary and paranormal stories full of banter, steam, heroines navigating real challenges (chronic illness, anxiety, all the messy parts of being human), and happily-ever-afters you can believe in.

Perfect for fans of Ali Hazelwood, Talia Hibbert, and Olivia Dade.

Anne lives in rural North Carolina with rescue cats who barely tolerate her and neighbors who are real-life heroes—fixing cars, hauling mulch, pulling you out of ditches without even being asked. Her books are love letters to small-town kindness and big-hearted romance.

Did not like the heroine at all. She seemed weak, whining and take advantage of him to her benefits, really drag out the story with just back and forth plot. They get together, break up, get back together. I wanted to like the hero more, he all alpha male and a doormat. The story is predictable.

His Hot Mess

Out of the series I likes Rohan and Hildi the best. She is a hot mess and he is always the hero. The most unlikely pair but they work. A really fun read.

Fun story. Glad they got their happy ending and it was fun to see them try to not want each other. Easier said than done. They prove that opposites do attract.

Still Her Seal is a fantastic addition to Anne Marsh's Assignment: Caribbean Nights series. It can be read as a complete stand alone, but it does incorporate characters from previous stories within it. So if you are a fan of Anne's work, you will enjoy it.

In this story Hindi returns to Angel Cay, Florida to tell the man she met and impulsively married six years earlier, that they are indeed still married. The timing is perfect as well because she is up for contract negotiations for her reality TV show. She designs intimate clothing and got her start by winning a competition.

Rohan MacCarthy is no longer serving as a SEAL. He has put in his time with Uncle Sam and is now spending his days training search and Rescue operation called Search and SEALs. He is always prepared for everything, except when it comes to Hindi Alvarez. She knows just how to set his world askew.

This story is filled with humor, relatable characters and combustible chemistry. Rohan and Hindi may not know what to do with one another in the real world, but when it comes to their own piece of paradise, they are off the charts with their connection.

I can't wait to read more from this amazing author. I look forward to seeing what she has in store for me next!

Good second chance story

I loved these two in their first book and still love them. However this book was a little boring to me and Hindi's initial game of playing the tabloids and paparazzi was a little irritating to me. The ending was sweet!
