Rowen Greensmith has been through a lot with her boyfriend, Eric Richardson. Greensmiths don’t have the best luck with men, but Rowen may prove the exception to that rule. She and Eric have stuck it out through thick and thin. No one is surprised when it looks like Eric is going to propose. Even so, it’s terrifying! Rowen isn’t sure if she’s wife material. What she is sure of is that she loves Eric more than she has ever loved anyone. As if probable upcoming nuptials weren’t enough to worry about, another mystery hits the town of Lainswich. A local librarian has gone missing. The people of Lainswich have never had much love for Greensmiths. When every mystery in town seems to involve them somehow, it’s not hard to see why their patience for the family might be wearing thin. With everything, Rowen will be lucky if she even makes it to her wedding as it seems the Greensmiths may have finally outstayed their welcome in Lainswich. Novella (approx. 40,000 words). Fourth Volume of the "Lainswich Witches" Mystery Series. It is a standalone (reading prior or future volumes not required to enjoy the book but would enhance the story, no cliffhanger).
. This is a cozy, paranormal mystery series. The heroine, Rowen Greensmith, belongs to a family of witches. The townsfolk of Lainswich hold this against them.
This was a different spin since there was a possibility of a murder of a librarian at the library, but no proof of same. Eric and Rowen are mesmerized when they finally stand side by side to share their nuptials before the entire wedding party breaks out in chaos and is not only disrupted, but is actually aborted. This happened near the annual Fall Festival when an unruly teenager throws a chili dog at Rowen's gorgeous wedding dress. They later completed the ceremony at the prison, so that Rowen's Grammy could be in attendance.
After sharing information with the investigation, Rowen's cousin, Rose, starts dating the Chief of Police, Ben Williamson.
There are a few grammatical errors. But all in all, it is an interesting piece of entertainment combining, humor, mystery, and less paranormal activity than the previous installments of this series.
This book is able to stand on its own, it is a clean read, and they solve the mystery of what happened to the librarian. These books can stand alone, but they make more sense if read in order. There are sure to be more mysteries in the future.
Again a pleasant read with a new character added. The skepticism of the town is getting old. The Greensmith family have lived in the town for decades yet the Township blame them for everything. The one extremely good part of the story saddened me that it was ruined. If you haven't read anything else by Raven Snow move on to the "Harper Foxxy Beck" series.
Rowen wayward Uncle Norman (Margo dad) turns up a day after the local librarian goes missing presumed dead, did her Uncle kill her and will Rowen and Eric get married
I fell in love with these characters and the story just flows making a book you can't put down and enjoy so much your looking for the next one. Great Reading Everyone!
I just have to point out the fact that Rowan is a very negative character. Her fear would be the reasoning behind what happens to her, every practitioner knows the put out positive vibes it come out three fold, so if you put out a negative thought or fear it's going to happen. The author has made the character fear her legacy to the point that she also is causing the problems her families problems, her fear makes her think something is going to happen if she not there to stop it. If it was up to Rowan here family would hide inside and never see the light of day. I believed that at the end of this story she would get that and start changing t h e was she thinks and everything starts to change. Her family has already gained two new friends already, so why is that not a positive for her?
Rowen and Eric are still going strong while she solves murders and he follows her around. It's cute how he just tags along and pretends to help her, maybe the next book he can get into crime solving with her. Margo's dad comes strolling into town about the same time as the librarian, his old flame, goes missing. The story follows the usual pattern of Rowen and her cousins trying to solve a murder that the towns people think one of them committed, eventually they solve it with magic. If you enjoy a quick evening read with smart witty characters and a touch of magic then this series is for you. Always a new adventure with the Greensmith girls. My copy was given by the author for my honest and unbiased review.
This is a great book; this is the fourth book in the Lainswich Witches Series written by Raven Snow. Rowen Greensmith is from the town Lainswich, a town that is full of strange happenings. Rowen and her family also come from a long line of witches. The Greensmith women have never had the best of luck with men, but Rowen is determined to be the exception to the rule. She believes that her boyfriend Eric might propose and she is terrified that she won’t make a good wife. To add to her worries, any mystery that happens in her small town her family seems to be involved. This is a fun series, and I can’t wait to read the next book. A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.
I received a free advance reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest & unbiased review. Review posted on another site. A few editing errors, nothing major. I have said this before, but I will say it again. I love this series. Raven Snow's books are great. I could read her books all day. Characters interact well together. Plots are well thought out. The witches are using their powers more now, which I think is great. After all, if you are a witch, shouldn't you use that to your advantage? Raven Snow is one heck of an author.
I really enjoy the whole series so far. Raven knows how to keep us reading the books. I have several authors in the "cosy mysteries". It is starting to be hard to read first. Thank you Raven for starting down the road with Rowen and her cousins.
