How far would go you to hide a secret, one that could cost you everything?
Abbie White has begun to heal from her six year relationship with Matt. A relationship that was built on a lie and left her with a mountain of bills and unable to trust men.
When James McAllister appeared in her life, Abbie forgot all about her vow to stay away from men and finds herself falling deeper in love with him each day.
But unanswered questions and exposed lies start raising more and more warning bells and Abbie starts to worry he's harboring secrets, ones that would destroy their relationship and her ability to ever love again.
James has wanted Abbie for years, and will stop at nothing to keep her. Nothing except one small thing. A thing that puts his business empire at risk and Abbie in danger.
This is the exciting conclusion to Abbie and Jay's story.
Full length steamy alpha romance. HEA ending. (No bonus books, Exposing Jay is the full file.)
I received an ARC in exchange for a honest review. This book was the conclusion of Jay and Abbie's story. Honestly, I really liked the story. It was short and sweet and with a little suspense added. I wasn't really happy about the fact that they married right away. Jay was being a bit too pushy and i didn't really like it but in general, it was really good. I loved Abbie. I loved her character. How independent she is. She didn't want to depend on Jay's wealth so they fought a lot about 'money' but i was always on her side. So go Abbie go hehe !
I would have wished to read more about their story but they left a positive mark on me. I recommend it (love story short and sweet and funny)
An ARC was provided by the author for an honest review
It took me a while to get to this book on my list and I regret that, because this had EVERYTHING I was looking for in the first book. I had faith in the author and it definitely paid off!! This turned out beautifully.
Drama. Secrets. Deception. Pseudo-betrayal. Twists and turns. Revelations. Hot sex. Love.
I felt bad for poor Abbie for one exposed secret in particular. OUCH!
James' character was great as usual. And still crazy hot. Can't forget that lol.
I see a bright future in writing for Simone Sowood if this book is anything to go by.
Once upon a time - .. Ahm yes – even today a memorable story can start like this …And thinking back to this book(s) I would like to think of this story as one of those
As a reviewer you are always excited when you find a new author especially when a blurb sounds really … but sometimes you simply know that even though it sounds good it is not something you want to read at the moment.
So when my co-blogger was approached by Simone Sowood she transferred that request to me because she felt it would be more up my alley … and already judging from the Blurb I could tell she was right.
After I got a review copy by the author I read “Trusting Jay” and “Exposing Jay” back to back – which is a good think – because… honestly I am not sure if I would have been a very patient person waiting for the next book.
So my review is as usual in that case a combined review for both books.
First of all let me leave a message for the author : “Dear Ms. Sowood, you said (and I quote) >> As you can tell I'm new to the game<< but I am very truly sorry … I can NOT see that at all “
Your story had me after the first chapter …
I must admit Jay annoyed me in his best moments and his worst I wanted to ask Abbie to just let go. There were pages when I thought what the hell is he doing there and why ? … ahm no not real “Why” – because I got a pretty good idea quite early of the reason why – I just could not get the complete picture of WHY he choose to continue that way, because he had moments where he could have altered his course… he could not really have believed to get away with it could he ?
But on the other hand I get his desperation. I understand where he was coming from – believe me I DO.
And Abbie hmmm – she was a difficult character but that also made her interesting.
As for the secondary characters in that book … I liked some and equally disliked others (even though I was supposed to like them because they were friends) which tells me they were well developed and I expect to see them again in the next books of this series. And honestly – I am looking forward to that – even if I did not like them …
In many points the leads in this book reminded me of my feelings for the leading characters in Jodi Ellen Malpas’ book series “This Man”, even if Jay did not manage to live up fully to the annoyance that Jesse Ward caused to the unprepared reader, he still did a good job at it.
Basically this book should have been 4 stars due to the fact that there are some points that feel strange during reading, they are simply not logical or feel not fully developed. Two things in specific which I will not spoiler here but if someone read the book I have no problems to discuss that subject in email or pm. I am known for having an OCD when it comes to logic and continuity in story – others might check on gramma but I am into this – so sometimes that missing logic causes my OCD to dislike a book.
But this is a great story that deserves attention from all those readers that like alpha males with flaws and it made me feel (which is the 5ths star in all my books) therefore this debut novel/series is a 5 star read.
This couple was just too frustrating. Don't know how Jay could ever be trusted. In addition the secret was too frustrating and timeframe just didn't make sense.
HOW FAR WILL JAY GO TO HIDE A SECRET FROM ABBIE THAT COULD COST HIM EVERYTHING? I have to say for a new author Simone has rocked this first series. The second and final book is my favorite of the two, and HOT DAMN she rocked it!!!! Trust me when I say that you will love “Exposing Jay.” In my opinion everyone deserves a 2nd chance, but to get a billionaire in the process…. Holy Mother Mary of God, YESssssssssssssssssssss, I want one! The story line worked perfectly with the characters, major and minor, and all the characters are important to the story line. A definite must read, and is recommended for mature audiences because of the sexual content, and let me tell you it is explosive. You are going to laugh, cry, want to fight, and may even need to get out the vibrator the sex is so HOT!!! So get your book and start falling in LOVE with Jay and Abbie! And the only spoiler you get is, that Jay and Abbie do get their HEA!!!!
In the first book Abbie White meets Jay Mickle and out of work IT guy and even though she intended to use him as a one-night stand, she started to develop feeling for him, only to find out that he is not only a billionaire, but the owner of the company she had just been made a Supervisor. His reason for lying to her was that he wanted to make sure that he wasn’t used for his money and he really liked her. Feeling that she only got the promotion because of Jay, she quit, only to find out that nobody would hire her because of the sex tape on the internet put there by unknown sources.
Book 2, “Exposing Jay” starts out with Abbie and Jay having just come back from a vacation to France and she is on her way to start her first day at her new job at CQ Francis. The only job her friend Marla could find for her that they would hire her. She had finally spent the first night back in her condo after recovering from the date rape drug that almost killed her, and Jay was there to save her. It gave them time together and helped in her forgiving him for lying about who he was. She is not a gold digger and now he knows that without a shadow of a doubt. She is serious about her career and anything she does, she does it on her own and not from sleeping with the boss. Abbie is finally able to start healing from the six years she spent being used by her ex-Matt. She now has a job, and a man that she loves and loves her. Questions start to pop up that aren’t answered, and exposed lies set off warning bells and scares Abbie. She is now wondering if Jay is hiding secrets that could destroy the relationship they are building together. More importantly, will it destroy their relationship? If so, will Abbie ever be able to love and trust another man again?
James McAllister is a billionaire who appeared in Abbie’s life from out of nowhere, pretending to be poor. He made her forget her vow to stay away from men and now she is falling in love with him. Abbie doesn’t know that James has wanted her for years and was willing to do anything to keep her. Nothing but one small matter that will put his business Empire at risk and Abbie in danger. We all know that Jay loves Abbie unconditionally, but to what extent will Jay go to keep Abbie? Will he keep his secrets from her? Or will he man up and tell her everything? Will he be able to keep her from the threatening danger? Only the book knows. Now you will have to read it.
No Spoilers. ARC free book given in exchange for honest review.
After reading the end of the Trusting Jay, I honestly had no idea what would be in store for both Abbie and Jay. However I was shocked to learn of the events that occurred throughout the book, if you seriously loved reading about Abbie and Jay in the first one then you are going to love this one. All the way through I found myself wanting Abbie to have the best as she honestly deserved it after going through so much.
However the only things that I found that I thought didn’t exactly work was for one the pace of it, throughout the whole of it I thought it was a bit too quick than the first one. However even though it could have been slowed down it still is an awesome book. The second thing that I thought didn’t work as well was the prologue and that is only because when you first read it your left a little confused, however when it gets to half way through the book you understand what was happening in the prologue. What I think would have worked a bit better was for how long it was before what happens in the prologue to be placed at the top of chapter one so that it’s a little clearer and you understand the story a little better. Other than that I can’t actually fault this book, I seriously think that you should all give this book and series a try. Just because I think two things might not have worked doesn’t mean that these things may not work for someone else. We all have our own opinions, so yes I know that reviews are an awesome thing for authors but remember we are allowed to write what we feel and think. Be sure to pick up this book and Trusting Jay.
ARC received in exchange for this honest review, so I'll be honest.
My lukewarm response to this book really had not much to do with the writing itself. I noticed in the first book that the author improved as she developed the story, and that improvement continued in this novel as well. The story captivated and intrigued, and it flowed nicely.
In the first book, I liked Abbie for the most part. Sure, I found her naive, but I still liked her. In this novel, I lost any affection I had for her. Her naivety in the first book translated into downright dumbness in this one. She was so wishy-washy, several times going between the two extremes of being completely enthralled with Jay to being absolutely disenchanted by him. I'm just not sure the switches were believable.
Jay lost some hotness points for me as well. I can't exactly pinpoint the specific reason for that other than his shiny wore off quickly.
So, the secret? The one building since the first novel? It's revealed. I've written this paragraph of the review several times and have deleted it because it revealed too much, so I'll just say this: I hoped Jay's secret would be bigger than it was. That said, I feel the fallout from the reveal was a bit over-the-top. Plus, there's no stated resolution to what happened to all the people involved in some pretty serious law breaking.
I did enjoy the two books, more for watching the author's development than anything.
ARC received for my honest review. The beginning of the book starts with a prologue that I don't know if I like or hate. I love books with that happening, but I felt a little cheated knowing what would happen, that I throughout the book was anticipating what would happen, and suspected at every page turn that now it would happen. I cannot figure out why we were left with that message. Either so we would sit and wait for it, just like I did, or so we would know why Jay behaved like he did about Abbie's safety, or maybe there were no reason at all.
When I finished the first book I was hoping that Jay's secrets would be something big, something I didn't expect and still something that would make sense. And the book definitely lived up to it. I understand Jays reason for lying or not telling Abbie much about himself. And maybe others had figured out the plot, but not me, and this was what made this book for me a very good read.
In this concluding part of this series. Allie and James continue down the cat and mouse chase game that begun in trusting Jay.
Allie is fighting her feelings towards the man that she loves and that loves her as he is continuing to keep things from her.
Simone takes us on a sexy ride in this book, I love the characters and the sub plot in the book and I must admit that I didn't see the twist coming and as a seasoned reader within this genre I loved that she was able to surprise me.
this was a fantastic first duet from Simone and I will definitely pick up future reads from this author.
I received an ARC of this book for my honest review. I loved this book! Jay or James which is his real name is still hiding secrets from Abbie. She has no clue how big this secret is. She ends up getting kidnapped over it! It's a whirlwind romance story and then it slaps you in the face. Once all the pieces fall into place Abbie must decide if she can forgive Jay or should she cut her losses and run. He offers her everything he is and has just to prove his love for her....swoon! Love this new author and really look forward to what she comes up with next in this series.
I received this book in an exchange for an honest review.
This is the second book in the Loving Jay series, while the first book I predicted what was going to happen, this one came in, whooshed and caught me completely off guard. I am honestly still feeling the shock in a good way.
This book is very fast paced and you have to be completely absorbed to follow everything that is going on in the story. This book leads a lot to interpretation, you have to see beyond the lines and while Jay is still a mysterious character, you get to know him a little better in this book.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Exposing Jay is the sequel of Abbie and Jay's novel from Trusting Jay. The story is fast-paced, full of surprising twists, passion and emotions. I suffered and rejoiced with Abbie and Jay, some stuff what seems incomprehensible at first, later becomes plausible. Again Simone Sowood has managed to convince me with her book. I'm very excited about what she‘s going to write next.
Abby and Jay seemed to have worked through their rocky beginnings. Abby still has problems letting Jay pay for anything because she was independent and wanted to pay her own way. When she get to her home later she sees Calvin waiting for her. Calvin tells her she should stay away from Jay because he major secrets. Abby and Jay go out his boat and professed his love for her. Once they get back on land they go to get in Jays car and see that he had been keyed just like the one in front of her house. Jay asks Abby to move into his house with him. Abby was taken back because she didn't want to give up her condo which she was very proud of even though Matt left her high and dry when he left he condo.
On her way into work she runs right into Calvin and she tells him to move and as he does he yells something. He said that Jay lies more than her ex boyfriend. Calvin fines her again but this time he gives her an envelope when she finally opens it she sees the headlines. Jay's firm bought out her company and she was furious.
Things are getting hotter between the two of them. Jay whisks Abby away to Las Vegas where he has a surprise for her. Abby finds out that Jay is being blackmailed by Calvin and someone else. Things start to get a little more out of control in the meantime Abby went to the police. The next thing Abby knows is that she had been drugged and had no idea where she was.
***Read book 1 first *** He has wanted her for years, but will the secrets he keeps tear them apart?
Was happy with the continuation. I did think that there were times that Jay probably could have admitted his secrets, but then again with her skittish outlook could understand him being iffy on telling her. I was proud that she was able to put the past together and see that in the end, not all men are the same.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
So many secrets follow along into book two. Abbie has completely fallen for Jay, but she still has unanswered questions. Suddenly things begin to unravel and Abbie's need for the truth could reveal unwanted answers.
Will their relationship survive or will the truth destroy them? ~
Really enjoyed this book, got to say I did feel a bit sorry for Jay, he was in the damned if I do, damned if I don't category! Liked the idea of the extended epilogue but it would've been better as a catch up after the books. ...............
I love Simone Sowood's writing. But I got so annoyed with Abbie and Jay. I was ready to stop reading because of all the lies. The thing that kept me going was the promised HEA and I had to confirm the biggest secret. It was worth it. Now on to my next Simone Sowood book. Happy Reading!
**An ARC generously provided by the author in exchange of an honest review**
Let me start with the things I liked about the book: I think the part I liked the best was the last part. When Jay finally opens up. It was like a relief. And not only relief, but that part is pretty well written. I think I could connect to that part a lot more than any other section of the two books. And that part is exactly what makes me say that the author has got potential and that she is capable of writing pretty good stuff given time.
Now about what I didn't like: Well, in addition to what all I said in the first book, all that still stands, Jay was highly annoying. I mean, for the most part, apart from the last bit, he looked unaffected by all his lies. He was not at all repentant about a lot of things he did and had no problems lying off his teeth. I'm not sure if I can ever get back with a guy like that which is exactly why I could not understand Abbie. That woman needs to have a will power. She is always and always distracted by sex. Which brings me to the next bit of problem. I love reading sexy scenes. Don't get me wrong. They are an important part of the relationship the characters develop and is an integral part of the stories. Sex is a way to connect. But it's not the solution to every problem, which is what happened in the first book and as well as this one. Whenever the characters have a problem, they keep on having sex instead of talking about it. And those two have a lot of problems. I think if there would have been enough dialogue between them, which gives the reader a chance to connect to them, then the amount of sex in this book would not have been a problem. But sadly that did not happen. I think with a bit of depth and better character building, this book would have rocked my shelves. But it is still a great effort for the debut of an author. I wish her all the success.
OMG what an emotional roller coaster this book was! Keep the tissues handy because there will be times that they are needed....
I was so looking forward to this book wanting to see what was going to happen with Abbie and Jay. At the end of the first book they seem to be on their way to a happily ever after. When I opened up this book and started reading the prologue, I was thinking "WTF did I forget from the first book?" so much so that I went back to the first book just to be sure. Once you start reading this book, you'll understand what I'm talking about.
Abbie and Jay seem to be very happy in the beginning of this book. She's got a new job, she knows the truth about Jay, and all seems right with the world.....or is it? Shadows from the past keep popping up and Jay's overprotectiveness seems odd. When she starts to confront him she gets that all too familiar push back, and is determined to find out what he's hiding.
Have you ever heard the phrase "two wrongs don't make a right?" How about 5 wrongs? 10? 100? This is what Abbie is struggling to figure out with Jay. It seems the more truths she uncovers, the further it has the potential to push them apart. Is their love going to be enough, or will all of Jay's lies be enough to break Abbie and her ability to love?
Like I said in the beginning--emotional read! Simone Sowood really knows how to draw readers into her stories and captivate them from the first page. It's hard sometimes when you are so deeply in love to know whether you should follow your head or your heart, and she does a great job of portraying it in her stories. I loved the love between Abbie and Jay, the hot and passionate sex they have, and the way they seem to make the other a better person. Thank you Simone for such a great story!

I received this for a honest review. I have to say with the first book I was really wondering about Jay. He always seemed to be hiding something and wonder how much Abbie was going to get hurt in the process.
Abigail White had learned that Jay Mickle was really James McAllister. This was hard for her to take. The one thing Abigail could not stand was lies. After her ex-boyfriend had lied to her over and over again she thought she would never get with someone like Matt again. Now here Jay was not only lying to her about his name but about how being unemployed when actually he owned several business and was loaded as well. This book picks up after all of this has been revealed.
Abigail has forgiven Jay after she had been drugged at a nightclub and he swooped in a rescued her. Now here she is falling more and more in love with him. Abbie truly has an issue with people helping her out. After a sex video had been sent all over the office she had quite her job and now here she is starting a new one. She is truly trying for this fresh start.
Jay is doing everything in his power to spoil her. Most woman would really be soaking all this in but not Abbie. She truly has problems with not contributing to the relationship and wonders how she can even compete with his gifts. She does not want to seem like a leach in the relationship. Her Ex has really done a number on her.
There are some surprises that will make your mouth drop and there are some really amazing surprises that will make you do a fist pump. Yip, that good. Jay is being stalked and his stalker seems to be showing some aggression. He truly appears worried about Abbie but Abbie is hard headed and wont listen to Jay’s warnings. She just thinks he is being overly protected but oh will she find out different.
Abbie and Jay spend so much more time together in this book, Jay has become very protective of Abbie, getting upset with her when she forgets to call him to come and get her from girls night, something seems off like Jay is hiding something from her but Abbie just cant figure it out. Every time Jay starts to act off he always tells Abbie that its nothing. While their relationship takes off and gets more serious Abbie just cant help the feeling that she is missing something big.
What I enjoyed most about Exposing Jay is watching Abbie finally let go of her past and what her ex put her through, to go forward and put herself out there more for and with Jay. Watching Jay let loose and let himself be vulnerable with Abbie to show his true self, yes there is ups and downs but Abbie will finally learn the full truth of what he hasnt told her yet. While she learns the truth Jay will do whatever it takes to not loose her in the process even if he has to risk everything for love.
This book is just as amazing as Trusting Jay and a great ending to their love story. There is her ex-boss who seems to find her when she is alone to tell her that she is being lied to, Abbie trying to make sense of the things she doesnt yet know, but with the clues she is trying to paste it all together, her friends that are there for her no matter what, A love that Abbie needs to decide if she wants to keep or not after finding out the truth, A man who will do anything for the woman he loves. If you like stories like this, then Exposing Jay is a must!!
This book is the sequel of Billionaire's Secret: Trusting Jay. Trusting Jay didn’t end with a big cliffhanger, but I still had some questions at the end. Exposing Jay starts with an amazing, thrilling first chapter and I was hooked. I kept turning the pages until the end.
Jay and Abbie are together and going strong. She forgave him for keeping something from her, because she can’t imagine her life without him in it. But she also has the feeling that Jay is still keeping something from her. He reacts cold and distant when Abbie asks him some things.
Jay is the same man as he was in Trusting Jay. Only now he can be who he really is and doesn’t need to pretend anymore. He does have different priorities now. Abbie is the most important thing in his life and he doesn’t want to lose her. He’s very protective over Abbie and will do anything to keep her safe.
The only thing I had a problem with were the secrets. They take important steps in their relationship, even when there are still so many secrets. Jay kept trying to protect Abbie, but he should have know that he can’t keep everything from her. Abbie is mad when she discovers something, but the love she feels for him is so much that she keeps going back to him. It’s very clear that they love each other very much and they want a future together. I also couldn’t believe Jay’s last secret.
Abby and James continued story..Abby and James seemed to have worked through their rocky beginnings. Former co-worker Calvin is back and so is Matt. You have to read "Trusting Jay" to find out about Calvin and Matt. This books have so many twists you will love it...HEA Hot Hot Sex...making steam come out of your ears
Jay and Abbie are starting to develop their relationship. People from their past, though are still trying to tear them apart. What is the secret that Jay is still keeping from Abbie? Jay starts to get more and more protective of Abbie, and they spend more time at her apartment than his because he can't stand the idea of even being one night apart. When Abbie is kidnapped by her ex-boss and ex-boyfriend, the secrets are exposed. Questions still remain for Abbie though. Does Jay really love her? Why was he afraid to tell her the truth? Simone Sowood keeps the action rolling and the words flowing in the story. This book picks up exactly where Trusting Jay leaves off, and Abbie and Jay get there HEA this time. Abbie finally learns to accept the material and emotional items that Jay is willing to give her without expecting anything back because Jay sincerely care for her. He was just scared the entire time that she would leave him or not give him a shot. You have to insecure people that found love with each other. Abbie was insecure because she was taken advantage of by her ex-boyfriend, and Jay was insecure because of his family life growing up.
I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
