Artist Nina Carpenter knows her marriage is in trouble -- and part of her wants to blame the jazz club her handsome husband Tony Williams owns. Between Tony's late nights and her own early mornings spent painting, Nina suspects the differences this seemed so exciting when they met are now drifting them apart. Then Tony's club is robbed, and, as her world explodes, Nina must choose between a solitary life -- or fighting for the man she loves.
Very insightful about marriage and choices, love the colorful African American flavor and vivid characters. Very realistic description of forced nightlife and risks inherent in night club ownership. Also, the baddie plot was surprisingly good for a romance read.
