ReGina Welling prefers not to talk about herself in the third person so...
I live in Maine with my husband, a silly flufferpup named Dash, and a crazy cat named Cricket. I write full time and also create mixed media artwork when I get the chance.
When I was three, my mom brought home a new book and when she went to read it to me, I read it to her instead. That was when she realized I'd learned to read. Since then I couldn't even estimate the number of books I've read. It's a lot!

So this is the 3rd book of this 4 book series (mental note to research: 3 is a trilogy, what is 4? A Quadilogy? Is that a word? No, wait, it's flagged by auto-correct. What was I doing again? Oh yeah, reviewing. Ambien must be kicking in...)
Each book in the series switches to one of the 4 friends - book 1 was Julie and her issues, book 2 was Gustavia and all of her issues, and book 3 was Amethyst and all of her issues. So, Amethyst (real name: Jane. Because it's against the law to be psychic and have a name like Jane, apparently.) Amethyst's problem is that she up and left her husband 3 years ago and he appears, in full kismet mode, to swoop her up in his arms and kiss her sensual lips until she comes back to him. I have to say, out of all the books, this story line was the shakiest. But ok, I'll go with it. The girls also have to deal with Julie's psycho ex-boyfriend who is apparently now possessed by an evil spirit, and the girls have to help him. You know, , after trying to kill Julie and Gustavia in the last 2 books, this is apparently what you do. But Lo! Amethyst has been blessed by an angel to have her aura seeing powers strengthened and she must complete 3 tests so that she can...I don't know why. Angels are assholes, apparently
Snarky Ambien-fueled review aside, it was still a pretty good book and I did learn an impressive new triva fact: a flock of butterflies is called a kaleidoscope. A kaleidoscope of butterflies? Cool fact. But now, all that's left is Kat and her issues (seeings ghosts made her go blind. No, really.) which will wrap up this....Quadilogy? Seriously, what is a 4 book series called?
Amethyst has a gift - she can see, and heal, auras. She loves purple - all shades of it. Her hair and eyebrows are lavendar and all of her clothes are shades of purple. She is small and reminds people of a fairy. Although she has a deeper voice than expected. She also pines, in secret, for her ex-husband...but doesn't share her thoughts or feelings about him with her friends.
When her friend, Julie, and her fiance, Tyler, invite Tyler's friend, Reid, to come stay with them for a much needed vacation - none of them know that he is her ex-husband, or that her name is really Jane. It is obvious to everyone, however, that their feelings for each other have not died.
There are many psychic overtones in this series, which is fun and exciting. Julie owns her huge home as the last remaining member of her family - and her grandmother and great-grandfather 'haunt' her and the circle of friends in order to help find four hidden treasures that will help the two spirits find their freedom to go to the light, and set Julie up for life.
Amethyst and Reid need time to work out their feelings - but Logan is falling to pieces with the help of a dark and evil spirit and is a danger to all of them.
It's hard to put these books down...so I didn't. I just read them, back to back, so I could unravel the clues along with these wonderful and quirky friends.
This book is a continuation of the lives of four good friends. Each book in this series is written from the perspective of a different one of the women. Once again Welling skillfully weaves their lives into mystery and mayhem in a lighthearted way. This series is for the times that you just want to read something that makes you feel good while drawing you into the story making you a part of the camaraderie.
Fun series, but the errors in the kindle edition are hideous.
Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...
1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.
2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.
3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.
4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.
5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.
Wow what a fun and entertaining book. Love all the ups and downs in the story and the interactions between the characters. Really enjoyed the characters and felt like I knew them. So many stories are packed into this book that it held my interest from the beginning until the end. I could not put it down. This is the first book in this series that I have read, but I am going to be reading the others as soon as possible. You will not be sorry if you read this book.
The story keeps you riveted: it is interesting, suspenseful, delightfully fun to listen to and deliciously romantic. I especially loved the explanations of the aura-reading and Amethyst's new ability. Caren Naess is brilliant, as always.
A review copy of this book was sent to me by the author. All of the above opinions are my own.
As if the sophomoric writing and bad grammar (consistent with the first books in the series) were not enough, the author has also now engaged in theft from J.R.R. Tolkien - could she not have come up with a name for the angel that was not essentially that same as Tolkien's Galadriel? It's so distracting to try to read Galmadriel without hearing Galadriel in my head. Aarrrgh!
Enjoyable mystery. Psychic, mystery, searching, love, understanding and auras. Fun characters. The best part is the grandmother, who's a ghost, appearing at the wrong times but trying to save these 3 woman using what ghost powers she can go aid them from peril.
A wonderful series and this book, book three, was no exception. Lots of action, mystery, and angst. A truesly enjoyable read of two characters working through problems but with original bad guy story driven throughout.
Reid is an old friend of Tylers, and comes to visit him. Logan is still at large. Tyler and Julia set the date, and everyone gathers at Julia's to work on wedding plans. Amethyst is Reid's ex, only Reid never signed the divorce papers.
2.5 stars. Cute book - definitely fun and good for the YA crowd. Work through the 4 females of the first book, this book is about Amethyst, the reader of auras. Predictable and campy, but an easy, fun read. I will have to get the next 3 books though... I have to know what happens to Kat!
Another great read. Very reminiscent of some of Nora Roberts work and other writers of that ilk. The plot gets more involved as the third woman in the group, Amethyst, is the focal point. Her friend is due to get married soon, her other friend is in a relationship and she is still reeling from the breakup of her marriage. Unbeknownst to her a visitor is due to arrive soon, a visitor that she knows well and who never signed the divorce papers. Plus the ex has made his way back and is again focused on getting his revenge. However he is carrying a ghostly passenger. A passenger who also is seeking revenge. Add in angels, a gift, another treasure to find, a wedding to arrange, a kidnapping and a new life. Will the ex be stopped? Will they locate the treasure?
I thoroughly enjoyed this third entry to the series. Julie is getting married and all hands on deck to plan the details. Meanwhile, there is a visitor, a big surprise, a special gift and a kidnapping. Never dull with this gang. I’m looking forward to the next book. The audiobook is well done, the narrator is easy to understand. The characters voices are well differentiated. Disclosure: A review copy of this audiobook was sent to me by the author. All of the above opinions are my own.
Unique characters , beautiful settings and mysteries
I discovered Regina by accident. I was searching for a new mystery/ suspense author because I had gone through all of the ones I had liked and could not find anyone I enjoyed. And I happened upon Regina's works, was a pleasure. Put your feet up and relax, you're in for a special treat.
Amazing audiobook. The story keeps you riveted: it is interesting, suspenseful, delightfully fun to listen to and deliciously romantic. I especially loved the explanations of the aura-reading and Amethyst’s new ability. Caren Naess is brilliant, as always.

SOOOOOOOOO Good! I have totally enjoyed this series, more than any other I've read in a while! And the 4th and final book is due out on Thursday! I can NOT wait!!!!! Just. Get. It. and Read. It.
I'm dreading reading the next book in the series because I don't know what to do when it's finished - I am so enthralled by the characters and storyline.
