Unimaginable betrayal

It was hard knowing how to rate such a story as this, in terms of giving it a number of stars. For the subject matter involved, I would have to admit to hating it. For the writing itself, in terms of editing being required, I would give it three stars. As for the courage to share such a story, I would give it five stars.

It troubles me - always has - to hear about children being abused. Though Lilly was abused physically and/or emotionally by her mother and Jeff's father, the sexual abuse committed by her brother was almost more than I could bear to read. She loved and trusted him, yet he abused that trust in the most degrading of ways.

I admire people who can share such excerpts from their personal lives. I hope Lilly and others like her are able to somehow move beyond the past and embrace the promise of tomorrow.
