All Casey wants is to avoid being arrested on trumped-up charges from her persistent ex-boyfriend. Running through the woods to escape two deputies sounds like a great plan…until they catch her. Thinking it’s all over, waiting to hear the snap of the handcuffs, she instead hears a roar.A huge, tall, muscular man comes to her rescue. She’s being saved by Bigfoot—and he’s the sexiest thing she’s ever seen. The attraction between them is instant, and after spending a little time with him, Casey wants to take him home and keep him. There are a few problems with that plan. He’s not the legendary creature, but he definitely isn’t human. Argernon is a warrior from Zorn. They do have one thing in common—he wants to take her home and keep her. He’s kidnapping Casey.
I had a rather short area here telling a little about me but then I had more than a few people ask me to expand it so... here goes. LOL. I'm a full time home 'supervisor' which is a nice word for saying I'm a housewife. I'm married happily, I met my dream guy 20 years ago, and we have 4 children. I live in Southern California and I can't function without iced coffee. I believe in romance, I've always been a daydreamer, and I'm a HUGE fan of books, always have been.
No, I didn't know that I always wanted to write. I inhaled books as a child. I read entire series (Pippi Longstocking, Nancy Drew and The Hardy Boys, Trixie Beldon, The Borrowers, etc) in a matter of days at a time. By the time I was nine years old I had an adult library card where I visited often. I moved on to John Saul, Stephen King, Richard Laymon, Agatha Christie, and then found romance. I was hooked. I wrote poetry in my teens and then moved on to short stories. My first book was started after I read a real bomb of a book that ticked me off with really horrible characters and a plot that was shabby at best and I thought... I could do better. LOL.
I wrote my first book which will probably never see the light of day in the early 90's. I wrote a series of a few books from it. I'm a series fan! I kept writing for fun, wrote MANY books and then in 2009 I decided to try to get published. I wrote my first Sci Fi romance and Ral's Woman came to be. I submitted it and with a little tweaking, Ellorascave sent me an acceptance letter. It was kind of a 'Cinderella' experience for me. It's been a terrific ride so far and I'm really happy that I finally had the time to commit to writing full time. It's a dream come true.
The following ratings are out of 5: Romance: ❤️💙💚❤️ Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙 World building: 🌏🌍🌏🌎 Character development: 🤓😉☺️🥰 Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙 Narration Type: Solo Narration
The heroine:Casey - two deputies come after her to take her to her ex-boyfriend Don who wants to talk to her. Don is the town sheriff whom she broke up with six months ago when she caught him cheating. He almost raped her last week when she wouldn’t get back with him. He told the deputies they were role playing and had them arrest her. Now they are back and she runs from them into the forest behind her house.
The Hero:Argernon - he is a Zorn warrior and a prince who has come to earth because many of the Zorn men decided they want women from Earth after his brother, the crown prince got bound to a female from Earth. A sex video of them was released to the population and many of the men saw them doing things the Zorn females don’t ever do. Not only that but females from Earth are smaller and much more beautiful than Zorn females.
The Story: The King ruled that any female from Earth they found had to agree to come to Zorn. Argernon is surprised to see two males attacking a female in the forest and he rescues her. She is scared because even though the Zorn males look similar to men from Earth, they are much larger, have long dark hair and large fangs. He saves Casey, then kidnaps her.
There were some plot holes in this one. For example, the Zorn leader proclaimed that the Earth Females must agree to go to Zorn but Argernon didn’t even have a translator for Casey. So he could understand her but she couldn’t understand him at the start. Though that didn’t stop things from getting steamy really quick, similar to the first book.
I have to admit that sometimes it is refreshing for two people attracted to each other to just get busy right away instead of all the “should we or shouldn’t we” crap that so often happens in romance. I kind of love a quick hookup every now and then. Also this one got pretty funny when Casey decides that Argernon is Bigfoot, since he is huge and has hair on his chest and looks a bit different than a human.
Like I said in the first book, I am not too fond of the Zorn society. They are a very patriarchal society where the women don’t really have many rights or power at all. They are used mainly for sex because the males have a huge sex drive and if they don’t find release often they can get sick. So they have multiple women to keep them satisfied. Though the story was interesting and I loved that much of it took place on a spaceship.
This book was told via solo narration in dual points of view and was narrated by Simone Lewis. I really like her soft, pleasant voice. Her male voice isn’t the best but isn’t annoying either, so overall I am very pleased with the narration and plan on listening to the next few books as well.
I really enjoyed this book, I think because in a way Argernon save’s her. Yes it kind of was kidnapping but in all fairness she did go with him. Can you kidnap the willing?
Ok so when she realizes they are leaving Earth she doesn’t want to go, ok, ok that’s kidnapping potato, patato :p
I loved that she was so fierce! Argernon really is the male for Casey she can be herself without fear because Argernon loves her for her.
I liked that we got to see Ral and Ariel too, make it really feel like a series when you get past characters for me it does at least.
Again Simone Lewis does a phenomenal job with the narration.
*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*
Oh my gosh this book was infuriating. I didnt understand how Casey could be ok with Argernon's behaviour. He repeatedly pressured her into sex and afterwards she was always like, the sex was great and now that I'm sated I dont care that he completely disregarded my wishes. And he kept chaining her up whenever they had a disagreement, like what the hell?! But she didnt hold that against him either. As long as she got to come. This book was full of dub-con.
Then, when they reach his planet and she finds out that his people are polygamous and that he has three women waiting for him, that is what finally makes her angry. Even though he was already planning to send them away and be with only her the rest of his life, he just hadn't had the chance to send word home. This is what she finds unforgivable, even though he hadn't touched any of them or even seen them since he met Casey. She was basically mad at him for having ex-girlfriends, and that was a way bigger hurdle for her than I ever would have expected.
This series is not nearly as good as her New Species series and I dont know why but I am going to read book 3 anyway.
Disappointing. The first book in the series had a few scenes I took exception with, but had others that made up for those. This book, the second, had more of the bad stuff and less of the good. I'm no fan of the forced seduction stuff, but in some books I can accept it, if it doesn't get to far. Unfortunately, this book did take it too far and quite often at that.
There where several scenes where I was very close to put the book away and give up on this series, but I kept hoping until I had read 85%. Finally I accepted defeat and gave up. Considering how close to finishing I was, you can imagine how bad it had become. I was at a point, where the so called hero had made it completely impossible to be happy with any ending where they end up together.
reread 9/18/21 re-read Nov.2020 2.5 Stars I’ve said before, and I’ll say it again that IMO this series reads like a sci-fi Harlequin. The reactions are silly (her thinking he’s Bigfoot having sex and wanting to keep him in like half an hour of meeting him) and the plot characters are OTT (like the crazy OW, head injuries, immediate forgiveness, etc.) So straight out the gate, I’ll say if you hate soap opera-y plots, and can not take shenanigans with a grain of salt and just sit back and enjoy the ride… then I’d skip it... because it’s illogical, non-serious, and not a typical swoony romance. I also wouldn’t suggest it for the hardcore safety folks because there’s one part that will probably piss you off…regardless if the H was conscious or not. (He wasn’t, and honestly the reason for the "situation" was SO ridiculous that I just rolled my eyes.
Bottom Line- Not bad, not great…just Ok for me. The drastically shifting of emotions… I 💘you… I’m 😡.. I 💘 you… I'm 😡… I'm gonna move on…I💘 you... made it impossible for me to take any of it very seriously. It did leave me w/ a few questions, which is always annoying. like... Was Bara one of Ral's original 2 house helpers, or the one his dad sent in Ral's Woman? If she's the latter, then why would she agree to be another house helper when so many wanted to bound w/ her? Also, if their sex drive is so high that they need sex FIVE times a day how did Ral manage captivity before Ariel came along? He handed off all those "prizes" and hadn't been with anyone. What are they going to do when the women have their babies and can't have sex for 6-weeks? Also, if jerking off works, then why not just rub one off a few times a day so they don't have to have multiple bed bunnies living with them? 🤷♀️🤷♀️
Maybe my feelings for forced seduction are different than the rest of reviewers that slammed this book for that content, but I just saw it as light BDSM and him being a dominant male. Then again I read Skye Warren, THAT is forced seduction lol!
But I'm also very submissive so Aregeron's way of seducing is right up my ally. People take fiction too seriously sometimes :-)
This was hot, unique, and I loved EVERY second on the BDSM themes in this story! YUMMMMMMM!!!!!!
I wanted to like this book I really did but ..... she got chased through the woods in an attempt to AVOID being raped - then is helped by a giant thing she thinks is Bigfoot. He jumps on her has sex with her - dubious consent. She didn't didn't fight or scream because- she was turned on? Weird. It just didn't work for me. Though it was far better than Ral's Woman both felt like they were written by lusty high school students.
Audio 3 stars... Story 2.75 stars.. unfortunately this has turned out to be one of my least favorite alien stories, it was just not any thing new for me at all, also the narration was not that good. The book had some good elements but I didn't injoy it as much. Not sure if I'm gonna read more from this author or not
Okay, let me start by saying that I really liked the plot of the story, I especially have a soft spot for the male lead as well. But it's not as good as I'd hoped it would be.
After reading Ral's woman I was very eager to jump into the next book which is the story of Ral's brother Argernon finding his bound. When Bartender Casey is chased through her own house and into the woods by her ex's two goons, Casey is saved by a man whom she calls 'big-foot'. The whole big-foot thing was good at a start, but honestly I was surprised by how daft Casey was at times. And without giving too much away, I'll get to what I thought.
After being kidnapped by who she soon learns is not a big-foot, but in fact an alien, this is where the story gets frustrating. I felt like Casey was acting like a child most of the time, especially in the last few chapters when Argernon is begging for Casey's forgiveness. Argernon made his mistakes with Casey, kidnapping her and bounding her without her knowing, but in the end he redeems himself but our Heroine is very childish and I had to force myself to finish this book.
I did enjoy it, but I do hope the next book has a heroine who I can enjoy reading about.
I’ve read this book a couple times but I could never remember it. Now I remember why. I am so hot and cold with this story.
I hate dub-con. And I would definitely describe some of the scenes in this book as dub-con.
I would get ticked off at some parts, but I find that I really like Argernon. So his mindset would annoy me but in a way he was very sweet when he wasn’t forcing Casey to bend to his will. I do like that Casey was a little more stubborn than most women though.
I loved the first book so much. It was easier to accept the things happening to Ariel because Ral wasn’t the one who took her from her life. So by the time she was able to go back to Earth, she had already fallen in love with Ral and wanted the stay with him.
In this book Argernon is the one who took Casey. He took her without her permission and told her his planet was beautiful and she would love it. When she gets upset he then tells her that if she doesn’t accept him she would go to another male or possibly several other males. And if she is too willful she might be put in a facility where she is used basically as a sex slave to any male who comes around... also she can’t leave the house without his protection because she wouldn’t be safe. This does not sound like a great planet. This just ticked me off because he took her and then tells her all the terrible things that could happen to her if she doesn’t accept him. Of course she has a right to be angry. And I just don’t believe that a woman can be so sexually frustrated that she will get over her anger about the situation just to get an orgasm. In fact I think that kind of situation would make me even more angry.
So that part of the book just ticked me off. But the parts in between those parts were good. Argernon was so vocal about how he felt about Casey. He made some mistakes along the way big time. But he was willing to do anything to make her happy and make it up to her. He was devastated at the thought of her wanting to leave him. (The part where he was all confidence but his hands were shaking when he tried to convince her to stay just got to me.)
One problem I had with this audiobook though was the narrator. She was a good narrator, but I was ready to throw my phone every time I heard her swallow. I can’t. Stand. Mouth noises!
-redonkulous sci fi romance -way too forgiving heroine -ding dong of a hero -contact with ow after they get together was a no-go for me. Even if it’s explained away, yeah...nope.
Meh. It was a bit too dependent on the heroine forgiving everything and the hero pretty much getting his way. Not for me.
Overall: Are you Bigfoot? Did i just have sex with a legendary creature? These are the questions you are faced with when we first start this book and Casey meets Argernon. I started out really enjoying their romance, but once the ship was attacked i kind of lost interest in the book. I felt that Casey's character became whiny and she wasn't stopping to hear what Argernon had to say. There was even points in the book where she knew it was part her fault that he "cheated" on her, yet she couldn't forgive him. I did find it funny, weird and a bit touching how Argernon got Casey to forgive him in the end and I can't wait to read what happens to them in future books. On a side note, i think it would've been awesome if Argernon went back to earth or sent someone there to "kill" her ex. That would've made the best ending. =)
I'm all about dub-con and capture fiction BUT this was a ginormous miss for me. There is a subtext about race/ethnicity in these stories that is nauseating...I'm curious to find out what the babies are like....but I don't know if I can continue reading this.
Re-read this book for the second time and still really liked it. I did like the fact that it was much longer than the first book and I felt we got into a little more depth with the characters of Casey and Zorn.
'Kidnaping Casey' is Book 2 in the Zorn Warriors series.
Casey had been having problems. Six months earlier, her ex-boyfriend, the town's Police Chief, had cheated on her, leading to their break-up. A week ago, the S.O.B had her arrested and brought in to the station, where he tried to rape her. Today, he sent to deputies to her house to bring her in so that 'he could talk to her'. Rather than be assaulted again, Casey takes off into the forest, trying to outrun the cops, but the much larger men catch up to her in the woods. Just as they are trying to get handcuffs on her, a huge, growling man runs out of the trees and beats up the deputies, taking Casey with him as they escape one of the cops shooting at them. He is a huge man, with very long hair and muscles that won't stop... but he wasn't a human male!!
Argernon had come to Earth to explore the fascinating land. His planet was short on females, and after his brother, Ral, had bound himself to the human female, Ariel, the males of Zorn wanted the sexy, high-endurance human females. This expedition to Earth had been to study the planet and its defenses, as well to see if human females could be found for some of the Zorn warriors to take back with them as 'bound' (wives). Argernon had no such intention when he went hiking in the forest, as his life on Zorn with his three housekeepers was just fine, thank you, but when he rescues Casey from the deputies, he is taken with the small, soft female. Almost before he realizes it, he finds himself binding Casey to him as his. Their chemistry is electric, but Argernon kidnaps Casey from Earth, and even after he has him on his ship and they are far from Earth, is he telling Casey everything he should about himself and his culture before takes her back to his planet, Zorn?
I liked this book (but not as much as Book 1). I really couldn't stand all of the cursing that came out of Casey's mouth, but none from Argernon. Why do female writers insist on these foul-mouth heroines? I really didn't see why Argernon was attracted to Casey aside from the fact that she is a human female. Otherwise, she sounds like a dock-worker, and not a female one. I don't expect demure females in these books, but there should be a happy medium... it isn't in this book.
Otherwise, the story was pretty good, there is a little light BDSM, some ok sex. I am hoping the next book is better.
I love language barriers in romances. I think they are extremely sexy. I love reading the couple jump through hoops to get the other to understand what the other wants. Argernon has decided to explore Earth while his fellow Zorn men are looking for willing female Earthlings to take home with them. He had no intentions of seeking one of the tiny weak looking pale humans. The problem is that once he sees Casey he knows that he has to take her home with him.
Casey is running through the woods behind her property trying to escape an inevitable arrest. Her ex just isn’t taking no as a satisfactory answer. He’s the sheriff and has decided abusing his badge to get his ex back is acceptable. Casey is a bit shocked when Bigfoot becomes her would be rescuer.
Did I mention I LOVE language barriers? Argernon and Casey are getting along just fine sexually. She’s a bit shocked that Bigfoot is sexing her up, but hey it’s the best sex of her life and she is not complaining. Her complaints come when they board his ship (which happens to have translators) and he informs her that he is kidnapping her to his home planet. Argernon’s little forgetful slip ups don’t stop there and they keep him in the doghouse. He has a solution to that problem though. He just keeps Casey in a state of sexual bliss to make her forget he should be in the doghouse.
I loved Casey and Argernon. They were fun to read. Between the Bigfoot confusion, the accidental kidnapping, the surprises he has waiting at home, the reader just never knows where the next bumble in this couple happily ever after will fall next.
Casey's ex-boyfriend is a sheriff who uses his office to use and abuse her. She's about to be taken in so he can talk to her again (last time he almost raped her) when Algernon saves her from the deputies who are chasing her. They have a little hanky panky and then he takes her to the spaceship. When she finds out he wants to take her home to his planet she turns very bitchy. Ok, she's scared, but what life did she have? Would she want to be back there so the Sheriff could succeed in raping her this time? She has no family to rely on and she said she has few friends. Ok, whatever she starts to change her mind about him but when she goes to planet after she finds out he's got some ladies staying with him and even though he planned on moving them out, it's too little too late for her. Finding out she's pregnant doesn't change her mind. Him begging and pleading and explaining doesn't change her mind. Him chaining her to the bed even as she's threatening to never forgive him, changes her mind. ***
I thought this was better than the first book. This new author seems to be improving her craft. These aliens are interesting, very alpha. The heroine here overreacts here and there which I feel is a plotting issue. The overreaction drives the plot a bit. Hopefully, this too will get better as the series goes on. As this author's books have tended to be so far, this is erotica. There is a lot of sex in this book because the guys just need it physically and their women can't handle that much so each guy has 2 or 3 women to share the burden. But glory be! The women from Earth don't have this same physical restriction so they can go at it all day long. Still I love alien/human stories and these are good. I will be reading the rest of the series.
