A young girl comes home to hide away and meets many characters along the way. Everyone has their own stories and even the minor players are interesting. Suspense, romance, and secrets throughout this book. Good read
This book was not what I was expecting but what needed. It’s sweet, dramatic, passionate and of course what would a good story be without some action. This story is beautifully told through the eyes of each main character and it’s worth the read.
I received this book from the author for an honest review.
Wow! What a hot and sweet, dirty treat! Dead Weight is a fabulous, hot yet heartwarming romance. This book was richer and more real to me than many of the other books I have read. It also had a realistic storyline and plot that interlace with suspense, romance, and keeps you enthralled with the characters. When reading the story, it may make you feel sad, confused, appalled, and even euphoric. I loved the characters of Jade, Denny, and Lucy. This story makes you think that you should never forget where you came from, and you should never lose sight of your roots and family that loves you. Jade left Vegas because she is running away from her dangerous past, and she is returning to her home town after a decade. When Jade’s car breaks down, Denny offers her a place to stay because he was very close to her late grandmother. Jade becomes very fond of Denny’s sister, Lucy, who is simple-minded and very talented. Jade also finds herself quite attracted to Denny and the feeling is mutual with some sizzling chemistry, but Jade’s dangerous past is an upheaval battle which causes some turbulent scenes. Some exhilarating excitement adds spice to the story. What is Jade hiding from her past that she does not want anyone to know? Why did it take Jade so long to return home? The book will pique your interest and draw you in from the beginning to the very end.
Dead Weight. I received this book as an ARC member in return for an honest review. Wow! This book was intense. There was several dramas going on in this book. Jade ran back to her home town to get away from danger, but ran into more trouble. Denny stepped in to help and was captivated by Jade. They didn't know how to make it work. Jade had secrets and Denny was determined to find out. Also Jade found out about Lucy's(Denny's sister )art skills and wanted to help her show them off. Denny refused at first but gave in and it caused all sorts of problems. Jade's past comes to find her and causes more problems. This is a fantastic read!
Idt I made it to the 2nd chapter because the story seemed ridiculous. This guy stopped to help her after she got robbed and she basically argued the whole time him over stupid stuff. He basically told her his whole life to a stranger for no apparent reason. The first interaction with his sister and Jade was off. He was finishing her sentences and bickering with her for no reason and Jade was the in middle of it for no reason. I knew I wouldn't like this book so I just stopped. The reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 is because maybe the story got better as it went. I just couldn't bring myself to finish it.
This was action and humor from the beginning and it did not let up.The writer pulls you into the story with just the right amount of mystery. This was also a sweet sexy adult look at relationships and people trying to change. There are few typos that come at some critical points but you can get through without them taking away from the story.Overall a really good solid story.
Returning to your home town can be bitter sweet. Jade tried running from her past. She didn't want to face her fears. She tried fighting true love but after so long she gave in. Her past from Las Vegas caught up with her threatening to take away her happiness. I loved the heat in this book as well as the danger!
I had a real problem with how Jade just came into their lives and started Dowling out advice. Nobody would stand for that from someone they just met no matter how attracted to them they were. Made the story seem a little unbearable even for fiction. And a little bit of a turn off
This book was ok. The plot moved along well and I did not notice many errors. It wasn't your typical BWWM romance. There was suspense and drama. Jade and Denny were kind of annoying at times but overall the character development was OK.
I really didn't not enjoy this book, the storyline could have been better I was so annoyed by Jade and her interference with the brother and sister..and cop allowing those guys to get away with just about anything...ridiculous....
