Sometimes the road to revenge is filled with sorrow...and sometimes, it's filled with death.
Sam's hunt to find her mother's killer ends in Oregon when she and Bastien are confronted by an Elf asking the Elemental Witch's help in finding his lost King. Even as she and Bastien agree to help, more Elves invade Sam's shop making demands to see the Elemental Witch. Does the disappearance of this King coincide with the discovery of stone bodies in the city's park?
Returning to New Orleans is easy—mending bridges isn't. As Sam and Bastien bring their Coven and Pack together to stop innocents from dying from an Elven Quest, they discover things are not what they seem, and the Dragon of Dreams returns in the ultimate showdown against Sam, and the Dragon she loves.
Born in Pensacola, Florida, Phaedra is the eldest of four children. She began writing in notebooks with her best friend in middle school. After leaving college for a job in the Graphic Arts industry, Phaedra continued her love of writing in her spare time and was lucky enough at a writer's conference to meet Dean Wesley Smith, who later became her writing mentor, along with his wife, the bestselling mystery/fantasy/romance/science fiction writer, Kristine Kathryn Rusch.
Phaedra lives in Atlanta, Georgia. When not writing, she and her daughter spend their time playing games, letterboxing, or watching anime.
Another difficult to put down installment of the Eldritch Files, with one doozy of a twist thrown in at the end. I felt like this book wrapped up all the loose ends of the previous installment. There's never a dull moment for Crwys and Sam or the people they love. The whole bit about the Quest and the two different Fae factions was weird, and I got a kick out of the subtle ways that Weldon poked fun at some of the oddball names. It took me a bit longer to get sucked into this one than the others, but once Elemental Blood hit the ground running I had a hard time setting it aside to do stuff like work, clean house, or cook dinner. All those pesky things that get in the way of a good book. I'm eagerly (if a bit fearfully) looking forward to the next book, in spite of some of the godawful reviews posted by other readers. I can't just quit. Even if the ending is heartbreaking (and I don't know so don't spoil it for me!) I still want to see how it all unfolds and learn just why the God Mother has asked her children to make the horrific sacrifices that we saw here.
Sam leaves everything behind to hunt Lethe and get revenge for her mother’s death. Even with Bastien’s support Sam’s hunt ends in Oregon when she is asked to help find the lost King. When they return to New Orleans, Crwys knows immediately that she has returned and needs Sam to fill a hole in his soul.
More twists and turns continue in this fantastic series by Weldon. Newly discovered enemies has everyone fighting to save the King and many innocents that are being caught in the middle of this fight. New loves are forged and some major changes are ahead as book 8 continues with Elemental Tears.
Another action packed storyline utilizing the whole cast of characters we've come to know along with a few new faces. This book once again incorporated some big changes for same, but I suspect the next book in the series we will find even more changes coming her way. Guess I'll have to read the next book in the series to find out.
Towards the end of the book, there was way too much repetition in their planning. Really began to drag on, Then other important things only got a paragraph. Disappointing.
Wow..... I'm stunned that this book ended the way it did! I don't want to give anything away, so I won't say details but, I just can't believe Sam ended up having to make such a choice. Every time I read one of these books I can't help but wonder about the world we live in. I am one of those people that believe in the unbelievable! So stories like this series really get my thoughts going ! Its good to keep yourself guessing!
This story has been very entertaining, and i would like very much to find out what's in store for Elemental Tears. Please let me know when it's expected. Thanks for your writing is very delightful, and suspenseful, i really can't wait for the next one.
This story is very well developed, the characters are wonderfully described, and in synch with each other. I would recommend this story to anyone who loves fairy tails stories with a touch of mystery and horror in the scared side. Psych!!!
I can't say anything more than I have already said in previous reviews for the series. I picked this up on a whim and I am so glad that I did. However, now that I have finished book 7, I am totally bummed as I can't just jump right into the next installment....But, at least I know there is one coming, so I have something to look forward to. As I have said in other reviews, if you enjoy paranormal stories, please pick this you. You will NOT be disappointed. Ok, I was a little in book 5, but I'm a bit over that now :) Well done, Ms Weldon, Well done.
It was enjoyable getting back to Sam and her friends. I had been stalking Ms. Weldon weekly for updates on the release. I felt this book had a lot of the heartache the last one did but on a different level and a nice bit of self discovery for Sam. That ending... Wow. I need the next book ASAP.
I love the Elemental Witch series. The fastest in book in the series brought tears to my eyes in some chapters. Samantha the heroine and her love in Crwys the Dragon are continuously over coming obstacles to be together. Do yourself a favor and pick up the first book and start reading. You will be sucked into their world and crave more of their story.
Good story. Sam has a visit from an elf-like creature looking for his king. Crews' nemesis Lethe (dragon) looking for a cure for being struck with Artimis' arrow, starts a false quest to draw out the missing king. People turned to stone are showing up and Crews has to solve the case. As the situation starts to resolve Sam has to accept a change in state to regain her freedom.
So glad Sam and her Dragon got together and without the hateful ex girlfriend being around any more. A really good story. Waiting impatiently for the next book.
