Lost Without You
You think trying to survive the Amazon rainforest is hard? Try being thrown back into reality. Back to civilian life. It's not so easy conforming to what is socially acceptable, and when you have to do it alone, your sanity starts to toy with your emotions.
Going back home was what she wanted, or at least that's what Brittany Powers thought. But being forced to go with people she despises wasn't what sheplanned. She no longer fits into the mold of what society thinks is right, and when she tries to find her own place in this world she once called home, the people around her think she has gone mad.
Cooper Owens won't ever be the same. Not after he watched the love of his life leave with the people he knew she hated. And now he has to deal with the fact that he was the one that put her there. He'd do anything to get her back, but he's lost his way...again.

Summary:
Brittany and Cooper are back amongst civilization after spending months in the Amazon after their plane went down. Brittany is back with her family who seems to be only helping her to make themselves look better. Trying to mold her to be the daughter they always wanted. Her "boyfriend" seems to be hiding something from her as well. Cooper is back on his family farm with his parents and brothers. Trying to adjust to another horrific time in his life. One more thing to add to the crazy list right? Cooper is just ready to be healed but how can he when he said goodbye to Brittany when they left Brazil... They both just want to be happy but will life get in the way of that?
Dislikes:
That it's over? That my heart is shattered into a million pieces due to the feels.
Likes:
The characters in this book are so richly developed that I felt myself put into their shoes. The supporting characters quickly wove their way into my heart. Charlie just about broke me, showing me that humans can be kind for no other reason than they want to be. There are a lot of tough subjects in this book, a major one being PTSD and I have to say that Thornton does it so delicately and handles it with care as it should be. Being a person that suffers from PTSD myself... it was beautiful and eerily accurate. I appreciate the nature in which she handles important mental instabilities.
Overall:
This series is blowing me away with the plot, characters and growth. I felt so utterly connected that I could not put this book down. I highly recommend this series to anyone, even if you're not a fan of romance, this is something everyone needs to experience.

I was really excited to get this book especially after the way that first one ended. I had enough time to finally cope with that ending it was difficult but I survived. Anyway, I was ready to get into this world again. I love Thornton's books so much and this one is no exception.
Brittany and Cooper are trying to get their lives back after surviving in the Amazon for 3 months because their plane crashed. Brittany was forced to move back in with her cold family who didn't understand what she went through. They quickly learn that the daughter they got back is not the same one that left. Cooper goes back to his family where he tries to move on but finds that more difficult than he thought it would be.
Okay I was a little upset at first because there was all this Brittany but no Cooper but I understand the reasoning behind it now. I liked the way the book was in two parts instead of each chapter being in a different perspective. I loved this new strong Brittany and I smiled every time she put her parents and Chad in their place. I hate, hate, hated Brittany's parents and Chad, is there a stronger word for hate? I need that word because oh my gosh they were terrible people.
Both characters changed quite a bit from before they were stranded in the amazon for months. Cooper, poor thing went through some tough times. Brittany definitely did as well and both came out stronger. I think I enjoyed Brittany's part better just because she was blunt with her parents and I loved it.
That ending more than made up for the ending of book one. I squealed, literally squealed. Thank you for this awesome story D.M. Thornton and for giving me a little more Cooper and Brittany action.

This second book in the Lost Series is completely different from the first, in which Brittany Powers and Cooper Owens are the sole survivors of a plane crash in the Amazon.
While it is hard to put yourself in their shoes in the Amazon, every emotion expressed in this, the second book, is something with which readers can totally identify.
The author has done a wonderful job of showing the detrimental effects of the plane crash on both characters, and their struggles to get over their PTSD and mental problems, plus their onw personal tragedies.
The coldness of Brittany's family and the warmth and love of Cooper's brothers and parents make for huge emotional conflicts, not to mention the kindness and hospitality of Charlie, Brittany's only friend in the world.
The two lovers' desperate need to reunite keeps the reader turning the pages.

This is the second book in the series. After being rescued from the Amazon after a horrific plane crash, Brittany and Cooper both go home to their lives in the States. Life will never be the same for either of them. Brittany suffers from P.T.S.D. which her narcissistic parents don't understand or try to deal with correctly. Cooper is also having some tough issues of his own.
The story shows in-depth the pain they are both going through, from the trauma they were dealt while surviving in the jungle, and then being away from each other after coming home. When they finally meet again, it is heart felt.
The story ends in a way that lets the reader know there will be at least one more book about Brittany and Cooper.
I look forward to reading the third installment.

I went back and read the first book in this series before I read lost without you I loved it I love books in the rainforest , these two went through a lot wow kept me reading its sad when people have PTSD they had it bad . her parents and boyfriend were a joke. dogs if you ask me put her away which im sure she needed help but not like that . no love there and she loved cooper and he loved her two both had a hard time but he had the love of his family but lost is dad so sad but im so glad he found her again. cant wait to read the next one. I really enjoyed these books.
