Rate this book
When writer Jason Doyle gets home one night to find his wife and son brutally murdered, he soon finds himself charged with double murder.

Then three years into his life sentence, Jason receives a letter from a man claiming to have killed Jason’s family. The killer is offering to break Jason out of jail. But why?

To find out, Jason must decide how far he is willing to go for vengeance, and whether or not he is willing to sacrifice his soul or his life to get it.

Stranglehold is a dark psychological thriller that explores one man’s deep desire for vengeance, and another man’s chilling psychopathy, as both their fates become darkly intertwined.

This book was actually pretty terrifying, even for someone who has done a lot of research regarding serial killers. It's complete fiction, but is very gory and graphic in many parts of the book.
I really enjoyed Victor's character development and being able to see his side of the story, rather than Jason's. I did not feel that Jason's portion of the chapters were as well written as Victor's. In addition, the numerous grammatical errors were annoying, so hopefully the book will be revised and be a bit more enjoyable for other readers.
On a whole, I enjoyed it but probably will not read it again. Some of those scenes... Just once was enough.

Very good book! The two main characters are explosive! This book has a bit of everything: mystery, love, gore, history, and psychological horror. A very well written book!!
