Through the lens of a camera, Jeremiah McKay has an up-close perspective of all aspects of his small town community, ranging from the heartwarming to the repulsive. As a Blake Sentinel reporter and lifelong member of the community, Jerry has gained the friendship and trust of the people he sees on a day-to-day basis. An essential part of the Blake Sentinel's success is the staff's ability to work together despite their differing styles and personalities. A key event will test the strength of the newspaper's operations, the community and the character of its inhabitants.
Both the events witnessed by the journalist and the ensuing tragedy could happen in Anytown, U.S.A. This post-zombie apocalypse thriller provides a patriotic look into not only how much United States citizens have, but how quickly they could lose it all.

This is science fiction at it's best; real characters in an unreal circumstance that quickly gets under your skin. I enjoyed the pacing and the feel like this would suit young adult readers. An author to watch.

Fast, enjoyable read. I loved the details of small-town life. This book has regular people facing extraordinary events, with a more realistic take on "zombies" and what could happen in the near future. There are some typos in this edition, but the great storyline makes it well worth it.
