Ngl, I was pretty checked out while reading this but that’s only because it got me back into the mindset of writing again. I appreciate that the structure is less of a necessity in essence and instead of being rhymed or vital to the theme(s), you can read these poems as a story. Without pause. I even appreciate how in one poem, Abbott makes note that sometimes the structure is important and each decision as it relates to art is measured and intentional.

The two poems that stood out to me were “The Beginning” (p.71) and “Thousand Petalled Lotus” (pp.91-93).
