This was slightly better than the first issue in this series. This was less confusing than the last one, and had more backstory on Natasha’s time from the red room which is exactly what I wanted from this series. I can already tell her red room backstory is gonna get even more intriguing as I read through the other written abt Natasha.
Anyways, I was still confused here and there, because this really just jumps everywhere. Like one scene was set in the 60s, and then next in modern day with no bridging significance. I like the flashback art but the present day art looks kinda funky. Idk how to explain it. Nat’s new white suit looked really good, and the kiss with Clint was…something.
Also Alexei being Nat’s lover in the comics is the funniest shit ever to me, especially bc he’s her father in the movies. Every time I think abt it I laugh.
she meets alexei "call me whatever you like. but my name's natalia. so, na...tasha!" the iconic panels of her as part of the bolshoi and then getting it twisted with "no thats not right... im one of 28 black widow agents with the red room-- the trainign is hard-- but the glory of soviet supremacy-- and the warmth of my parents--"
"i cant tell whats true anymore."
"tell me what i need to know... and you can claim i forced it out of you with my terrifying stealth weapons-- while actually enjoying the infinite air miles i'll reward you with and being able to say you had a drink with the original black widow."
ivan as her father figure "shes still trying to work it all out, trying to explain all the things she is... cating off the peaceful retirement i tried to give her , not willing to vanish into being a normal person, even now that alexei's gone..." they fabricated his death story
"perhaps she will elect to die in battle. perhaps she'll find a nice understanding american chap-- and then we'll all be screwed. but whatever -- she is going to give them -- bloody hell on a bicycle."
pepper giving tony natasha's profile "pepper do i sense a little crush? because you know stark industries encourages diversity-- and i monitor that commitment pesonally."
"i thought it was you ans me since he left you! hawkeye and black widow, partners in crime, out to bring down stark and sell his secrets! simple! [...] i know youre manipulating me! and i dont care! i'll bring you stark's heart on an arrowhead!"
clint as ronin with bobbi and the secret protocol is natasha infecting everyone she's been with "they made me filthy" cooties lol
