In a world where the law is often more corrupt than those breaking it, sometimes you have to take justice into your own hands.
When the law refuses to help after an attack on her family's farm, Rosie turns to Carlton for help. Discovering the human mech's mysterious past leads Rosie to learn some of her family's secrets, ones that threaten her future. Complications increase when they rescue a thief, learn about a missing woman and meet a blood shaman, an enemy of their country. They need to track down the outlaws and find the missing woman before the rainy season starts and wipes away all the clues. The family secrets are another matter altogether and Rosie has no idea what to do about them.
I found this book fun and interesting to read. I enjoyed the main story line and I’m also very intrigued about how Rosie’s family is involved with trying to dethrone the King and how many other people like them are out there. It was a fast read and it did keep me interested through out the whole book. I do love the engineering part of the book. I can’t wait to read the next part.
