Swept away by desire at the wrong time, Mal Davis and Raina Greer have already proven to make a royal mess of commitment. When life presents a second chance, will they throw caution to the wind or will they let the chance meeting of a lifetime slip away?
When farmer Lorraina “Raina” Greer happened upon recently widowed Deputy Mallory Davis one spring evening, sparks hurriedly flew and both women were consumed with the flames of raw passion, at all of the wrong times. As news of Mal’s past surfaces to put a stop to their burgeoning romance, both vow to move on. The trouble is, neither can seem to stop reliving those fiery nights of desire, the taste of pure lust, and the hours whiled away in one another’s arms. Neither has managed to forget. But when life presents the women a second chance, a better time, will they be brave enough to take that leap of faith into the future?

I have pretty much read all of Voss Porter books and although I'm not much for the monlogue heavy books I fond myself drawn to the stories Porter weaves. This book however irrated me beyond belief in her writting, mainly with use of names. Each character goes by nickname used by friends and family and you would think when speaking to and of each other that nale would be used. Well it was...sometimes and sometimes their formal name was used and sometimes her description was used but it wasnt consistant and i found myself annoyed and not able to really see a connection between the characters. I also found the monolgue repetitive and the interaction short and not fullfilling. Honestly, this was not one of my favorite reads. The plot was nice but the execution irked me beyond repair. The sad part about it, is thay I will still find myself reading her books. Hopefully this was just a fluke.
Everyone has that story of meeting the right person at the wrong time in their life and wishing things could have been different. But what if fate gives you that chance - do you take it? Raina and Mallory can't forget the chemistry between them or the passion they shared.
This was a great little novella from Voss Porter. I read it in one sitting. A+
I'm on book #3 of Voss Porter's now and I think that the editing issues are FINALLY starting to get to me. I mean, I'm still enjoying the storylines, but wow, is it ever distracting.
The Wrong Time continues in the same universe as The Right Kind of Woman & The Wrong Kind of Woman, both of which I really liked. It's Greentown, South Carolina, and all of the small town charm and accidental run-in's with your ex's are there.
This book centers on Mallory (Mal) Davis - the cop who arrested Bri Gunner in The Wrong Kind of Woman if you're keeping track - and her ex, Lorraina (Raina) Greer, a farmer who runs her family's farming business. Mal is closeted, lives with her southern baptist parents, Raina is still reeling from a post-coital utterance of Mal's ex's name, after which their previous romance puttered out. This story is all about what happens when timing might not have worked out for you in the past, but maybe you get a second chance.
I really, really struggled with the writing style in this book - to me, it felt very immature and almost like a first draft? I wanted so much to like this, being a lesbian book with a happy ending, but unfortunately I just didn't.
