Alpha Tango is a quickie short story about Kevin who needs to learn ballroom dancing & Ginger the dance instructor. Kevin needs to learn to dance for his sisters wedding. While taking lessons he falls for his instructor & it get rather hot on the dance floor.
I received an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.
This was my first book from E. M. Denning, but I'll be reading more from this author. Short but very hot story about a man and his dance instructor. I liked the buildup and the heat between Kevin and Ginger. The sex was very erotic, just the way I like it.
I've just started her other book, Bommerang, and I'm enjoying it! E. M. Denning is an author to watch.
What I Liked/What Worked I liked the length. Very short and most of the details worked to move the story along. I liked that there was not any needless build up as to why Kevin was taking ballroom dancing lessons. I enjoyed the sex scene and it did not dominate the story. The author stated Kevin was not someone who gives up and proved it by his continuing to return for more dance lessons until he got it correct. I also liked that he was out of his element and was nervous. I thought the coupling worked well. I also enjoyed the verbal sparring between Grace and Kevin. I thought the author did a decent job of having the dance studio act as a character.
What I Did Not Like/What Did Not Work I have to start with the Ginger Graceling's name. Way over the top. I may have accepted her name being Ginger if she was a redhead, but she's blond. I am assuming that the name is supposed to invoke memories of Ginger Rogers. And the last name of Graceling, calling to mind that dancers are graceful. I also did not find it believable that Grace would cuss at Kevin. She is a professional, correct? She sounded like Kevin's sister, Camille. I would have easily believed her cussing during the sex scene. I would have expected Kevin to be more dominant throughout the story, not just when he finally achieves dancing without any errors and during the sex scene. What is Kevin's profession where he is used to giving orders? I thought military, but no supporting details to support my guess. My last dislike is the age of Camille's future husband? How much older is he than Camille? If it is not important enough to give more details, then why mention it in the first place? It does nothing to add to the story. These issues are the reason I gave it such a low rating.

Camille James has asked her brother Kevin to walk her down the aisle at her upcoming wedding and also to do the father-daughter dance with her. The only problem for Kevin is that he can't dance and can't say no to his sister so that leaves one thing - dance lessons.
Ginger Graceling is a dance instructor and can make dancers out of most men but with only 6 weeks will she be able to turn one of the worst dancers she's ever seen into something more?
Will the attraction between the two get in the way of Kevin's lessons?
This was a great quick hot read about love ballroom style!
I loved the immediate banter between Ginger and Kevin and how she told him how bad of a dancer her was. Their chemistry was hot and it was a fun read!
Kevin has promised to walk his sister down the aisle at her wedding and, on her insistence, to also dance with her. Kevin can't dance, so he takes lessons from Ginger, and quickly find himself falling in lust with her! Humour is used well throughout this story, and the main characters, big, clumsy Kevin and tiny, no-nonsense Ginger, are both likeable and believable. The seduction scene where Ginger "instructs" Kevin alone is vividly described and expertly conveys the hot sexual chemistry between them.
A very quick read for sure (page 1 has you already at 9%, 'The End' is at 86%). Very little character development. A bit cliche - boy meets girl, girl teaches him to dance and before you know it the waltz is left behind for the horizontal mombo (but the sex scene in the dance classroom was HOT for sure).
