Whiskey (Whiskey Sour #1) by Krissy V

### 5 Huge Hashtags ###

Oh how I love a good dark gritty romance, this one had the perfect balance.

Whiskey leaves behind the life she's been struggling with and ventures off to London without looking back, she soon lands herself a job and a hostel to stay in, but it's not enough. Her friend introduces her to the world of escorting. Here she meets and connects with Sawyer, but when Sawyers arch enemy Christopher meets Whiskey everything rapidly changes and she find herself in a dire situation. Can Sawyer save Whiskey and reach her in time ?

Initially, this book tells you a little about all the girls and their characteristics, I must admit I was a little worried that I'd have to remember them all - however, this wasn't the case, this was such an easy and amazing read.

A great read that completely sucked me in, consumed me, had my heart racing in several places, I couldn't put it this one down. I love Whiskeys strong and feisty character, the writing is superb, her emotions and turmoil can be felt throughout this book.

This is the first book I've read by Krissy V and I can't wait to read more in this series. Another book to add to the top of my list this year !

Whiskey is one of them book that gives you the feels. More than once I got goose bumps. It didn't take me long to read because I couldn't get my head out of it. I was wishing it would never end.

A young woman runs away from home. She ends up in London to start a new life. She finds the love of a best friend a job there is ups and down but is life there always will be.

Whiskey is an ascort but one date changes her life. Sewyor makes her feel again makes her change the way of seeing a better life for herself. She wants it so she tries to get it. But one night changes her life.......not for the better.

Whiskey's journey to getting where she is now is hard long painful and heartbreaking. She is a strong and determined woman.

I love Whiskey she gives me HOPE, to always be strong, to move farwards and to never look back, if you fall get up brush yourself off and move on, keep going keep fighting, if you have a dream go for it never forget about it. "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger!"

The way Krissy V has written this book is beautiful and truly amazing. I can't wait to read more from the whiskey girls and there journeys for getting there. Possibly read more about Whiskey herself!

Review:
“I start to move my body and my natural moves and instincts take-over. I become the hottest, sexiest woman in the room and all I can think about is Sawyer and his hands on my body while I move.”

5 Whiskey Sour stars!!! Holy… I don’t even have to words. Krissy V has knocked it out of the park!!!

My review will be vague so I don’t ruin it for others!! But I will say, I’m a huge fan of Krissy, so anything she writes I know I’ll love. I just never imagined that I would become obsessed. But that’s exactly what happened after I finished reading Whiskey!! This is a powerful and addictive book! I couldn’t put my kindle down, I had to know what was going to happen between Sawyer and Whiskey!! This book isn’t for the faint of heart, so make sure you have your big girl panties on before you read!!! Seriously, I’m obsessed and can’t wait to read more!!

Dark, dangerous, mysterious, sensual, desire ridding, lust consuming, brutal at times, mindless, raw, dirty, and more behind these pages. Whiskey has a life that no one wants to lay claim to but more the most have lived in some way or another. Some are ashamed of what lead them to the direction in which they find themselves. Others find a way to cope with what life had dealt them. Welcome to Whiskey's world.

Whiskey was strong, determined and willing to do what it took to make it. She did not allow for life to keep her down. She did not allow for life to take away the on thing that was good for her. Sawyer gave Whiskey something that was tangible. Something that tied them together. Something unbreakable.

Life has a way of handing you intensity when you feel that things are going well. This happens to Whiskey and Sawyer. There was darkness, intense emotional triggers, and the gritty grime of life when you have nothing else. Come along read this well paced, rich characters, dark journey of Whiskey and the one man that gave her true hope when there was none.

I got sucked in by the teasing blurb a month ago, then the excerpt from a few weeks ago. Then I got pulled all the way into Whiskey's world with the read. I was captivated right from the start to the final words on the page. I have to say that I will be picking up the next. I look forward to all the ladies of Whiskey Sour to have their own stories told. This read will not be for everyone, but if you crave a little something different , a little something on the darker side of life. Then I would suggest picking up Whiskey.

Five Fabulous Stars! Whiskey leaves behind her old life and moves to London where she takes a job as an escort. She then meets Sawyer and connects with him but what comes are problems that she never knew she would ever have. The author had me hooked from the first chapter and I kept turning the pages wanting more. I felt all the emotions Whiskey was going through and at times found my heart racing for her. I really enjoyed Krissy's style of writing and will be looking for more books by her. This is the first book in the Whiskey Sour Series I can't wait for the next one. Highly recommend!

I gave this book 4.5 stars!

As I am sitting here writing this review I'm in book hangover, wishing there was more Whiskey and Sawyer story. This book has so many twist, turns and surprises that will leave you on the edge of your seat wanting to know what happens next. Whiskey story is very tense and be warned that it can make you wish the things that happen on no one. I had tears for the way she was treated but in the end a true love story evolve.

Whiskey runs away from home when she was 17. She ends up in London and ready to take on the world. When a friend suggest that she become an escort she agrees. After working in the business for about year she meets Sawyer. Sawyer makes her feel different and she is ready to give up the life to do better things in life. While she is trying to figure everything out she takes another date. What she didn't relize at the time is that her date would turn into her worse nightmare. When she finally is able to escape she ends back in London at a burlesque club. She gets a job there not knowing that Sawyer is the boss. What happens when the mean of the past come after her will Sawyer be able to save her time?

I highly recommend reading this book, the writing is flawless and you will fall in love with Sawyer and Whiskey.

PHENOMENAL!!! Krissy V has out done herself. Krissy is known for her talent to write dark romance novels. In Whiskey she brings it to a new level.
Whiskey is book 1 in the Whiskey Sour series.
Whiskey is a young girl who runs away from home to have a life she’s always wanted. She takes a path she never thought she’d take and becomes an escort. When Whiskey meets Sawyer, their connection was so strong she realises this is not the life she wants for herself and decides to make a change. Unfortunately plans don’t go as she’s hoped. Whiskey’s life will have twists and turns. She will be living a nightmare and will experience hell before she gets her heaven.
Sawyer will stop at nothing to save her and make her dreams come true.
If you love a dark romance you’ll want to check out this book!!

This was my first ever Krissy V book and it will definitely not be my last. A real page turner from start to finish, I was truly captivated by this story.

Whiskey is a 17 year old girl who runs away from home and ends up working as an escort , which is where her life changes. She meets Sawyer. Sawyer is fun, gorgeous and makes her feel things she's never experienced. Trying to run from her feelings Whiskey takes on another date with a new customer, a date that She will never be able to forget... Whiskey's story takes a sinister turn which will break even the strongest of people. Can Sawywr rescue her before it's too late?

Whiskey's story is an emotional rollercoaster, I smiled and cried in equal amounts.

This is a gritty, erotic and sweet story and I can safely say it's one hell of a ride!

This is my first Krissy V read but certainly won't be my last!! I enjoyed her style of writing which was set at a good pace and flowed beautifully. This read left me on the edge of my seat not wanting to put it down. Like the warning said, this is not for the faint hearted so if your looking for a read that's just All hearts and roses then this isn't for you due to some of the subjects and harrowing scenes. But if like me you love a great Dark read you won't be disappointed in Whiskey and Sawyer's story.
Whiskey leaves home from Manchester hoping to make a new life in London. But real life isn't a fairy tale with no where to stay and with little money your options are limited. This finds her staying at a hostel looking for work but all she manages to find is a job in a back street cafe. With needing more money than what she's earning at the cafe her friend Tilda tells her about an escorting job. Everything seems to be going good for Whiskey she's comfortable in what she's doing. This is where Sawyer comes in he's the CEO of the Callahan group of Nightclubs and we get mixed emotions both feeling that insta-love attraction.

 photo IMG_20160729_224423_202000_zpsqjbvpw2p.jpeg

Even though Whiskey has mixed emotions she continues escorting accepting a job with Christopher, this where her life Dramatically changes!! This part of the book is dark, gripping and quite emotional to read but superbly written. I'm not going to go into much more detail as i don't want to spoil this gritty and intense read. So will Sawyer save Whiskey and reach her in time ? Can he be her Knight in shinning amour?? You'll just have to read and find out.....

I have thoroughly enjoyed this read and would recommend, I can't wait for more in this series from Krissy V.

Whiskey is her name because that is what she has learned to drink to overcome her memories. A runaway at the age of seventeen, she has learned to survive by the use of her brain and pure hard work. This is not a story for everyone. She is a survivor of abuse and rape. Rather than make her callous and untouchable, she is determined, loyal, and still maintains her core believes and this is what makes her strong.

Meeting Sawyer for one night, changed her and Sawyer forever. BUT, she could not believe her luck at finding such a man. Leaving him before he could tell her how he felt, she goes deeper into a world where her body is not her own. How she escapes this and survives is a story not to be forgotten.

Interesting and gripping, this story leaves its mark on readers. Not for the faint of heart.

„Whiskey” is romance written by Krissy V.

It’s a story about Whiskey, a girl who ran away from home only to go through things that would kill most people, but not her. Along the way she meets Sawyer. They only spent one night together, but the chemistry between them won’t let them forget about each other.
After Whiskey was taken away from him, Sawyer struggles to find her and the clock’s ticking…

Holy shit! I really enjoyed this book! It sucked me in completely! Whiskey is such a strong heroine, it was a pleasure to watch her overcome all the bad things that happened to her. Sawyer was amazing, too. His love to Whiskey was so unconditional and strong! Amazing!
Plus, I really liked Krissy’s writing.

Unfortunately, this was just not a book I was able to get into at all and finally had to give up.

It seemed as though it had been written by a very young teenager rather than an adult author trying to write an exotic story..

The writing, for me, was more like a step by step show and tell making it extremely difficult to follow along and painful to try to read. i finally gave up and DNF.

This is the first book in the series. Krissy V takes us on journey with whiskey (not her birthname). We follow Whiskey from a run away at young age who lives in London with dreams of living on her own in the city. While struggling to make ends meet Whiskey meets Tilda a high end escort and her room mate. After beginning her new journey Whiskey meets Sawyer and instantly falls head over heels but knowing he is only a client, she has to walk away. But as fate has it she can't love and desire consumes her. Until she is kidnapped and held hostage, when she can get free with another now friend jeanne, they run back to London. Little did she know Saywer has been searching for her endlessly for months. As their love is rekindled she must face harder desicions around her life, she's not the same girl her meet, she's was now damaged, unworthy. Sawyer has to have her his Whiskey, his love and he will do anything to get her back. This is a wonderful story of love and romance with a twist of sexuality and suspence. I couldn't put it down I read the whole book in one day. Come join the girls of whiskey sour and learn how a runaway with a torn life becomes the beautiful burlesque dancer of one man's dreams.

This was a new author for me and I was intrigued by the blurb. Poor Whiskey goes through hell. She's been through a lot in her young life, but when she meets Sawyer and spends the most amazing night with him, she starts to feel again. Although leaves him behind, they cant forget each other, Whiskey made a huge impression on Sawyer.

I really liked the storyline and the concept. It was a very dark read for the first half, darker and more harrowing than I was expecting, but I don't have triggers so that detailed part was fine for me. I think though it was the second half that didn't work so well for me. There was a lot of focus on the awful things that happened to Whiskey, but nothing really on the after effects on her mental and physical recovery. What she went through was so traumatic, but her and Jeannie escaped and just went back to life and their new relationships with seemingly no issues or health checks which didn't seem believable to me. Sawyer was an amazing man to never give up on her, but they had insta-love so maybe that is why any issues weren't detailed. For me it was a shame as I think that would have made this closer to a 5 star read.

I'm interested in the other girls though, the burlesque club and the shelter for the women there still sounds like a great concept so I will read the next book.

Oh my gosh I loved this story and it was such a happy ending. Whiskey’s life was rough but then it got better. She met a man and then was taken away from him and experienced horrible things to escape and find the man she has been thinking and dreaming about. She ends up taken again and he rescues her and she ends up a burlesque club owner. Such a good book!

This is my first book of Krissy v 's and it won't be the last. I was hooked from page one. Whiskey Sour takes you on a journey with a small town girl who escapes her childhood to London. She faces many hardships along the way to find true friendships and her safe haven. In the arms of a man whom she falls complete and utterly in love with. Whiskey sour will leave you wanting more of Whiskey , her friends, her true love Sawyer.
This story follows Whiskey from her home as a child , to the run away who escapes to London , down the dark path with cruel intentions, into the arms of her man and performing the art of burlesque.
I felt an instant connection with Whiskey (which wasn't her given name at birth) I felt like we could have been good friends in another lifetime. This story brought me to tears at one point and kept me reading. I read the whole book today just couldn't put it down.

When I read a book I expect to read something similar to what the blurb promises I will read. The blurb for this book is not exactly off the mark, but it covers the last 40% of the book only. This review will be spoilery because I believe the potential reader should know what they are getting into. First of all I was surprised to find out that Whiskey is an escort. In the prologue she seems more like a prostitute, but that is explained later in the story. Then she meets Sawyer has a magical night with him, they fell for each other, but she decides to leave him and avoid him while she tries to become a woman who is more fit to be with him. Unfortunately, she doesn't get the chance because she is kidnapped, rapped countless times, was forced to participate in an orgy and was given too many drugs. Whiskey was ganked rapped and the author failed to warn the reader. In the email I received from the author at the end of the blurb you can read a warning (displayed below), but last night I checked the GR blurb to remember what was going on in the book I did not find it. By the time this review was written the warning was missing on Goodreads and amazon. I don't know who decided to remove it, but I believe the readers should know what they are getting into.

WARNING: Due to sexual situations and adult content, this dark romance thriller series is not intended for readers under the age of 18, and anyone who is unable to read books containing, kidnapping, murder, rape, and extreme abuse. **

The heroine manages to get away from those evil people and finds a job at a burlesque club. That's when the blurb and the books content start to match. Sawyer appears before Whiskey's odyssey begins and tries to find her. His and Whiskey's relationship is one of the worst cases of insta lust. They don't get to spend a lot of time together and yet they are crazy for each other. To make things even better in the beginning of the book the author introduced us to the girls who work at the burlesque club. I was worried that I wouldn't remember the info that was given to me, but as it turns out I had nothing to worry about. I barely saw the other women. With the exception of Jeanne the others have a couple of lines tops. And we don't even learn their real names. For me if the author had decided to skip the kidnapping stuff and focused more on the club and the girls this book would have been so much better.

I want to read the second book in the series only because I want to see how things are going. I like the idea of reading Jeanne's book. I believe that a reader who knows exactly what s/he is getting into will enjoy this book more than I did.

Woohoo! There will be more books in this series and I already can’t wait to read Book 2. Whiskey is the first book in the Whiskey Sour Series and is the first book that I have read by Krissy V and I am so glad that I did!

Whiskey is a dark romance. And, this is Sawyer Callahan’s and Polly Penelope Parker’s (aka Whiskey) story. This book is the base for the whole Whiskey Sour Series. Sawyer and Whiskey fall in love pretty fast. But, then I do believe in falling in love at first sight and that the love can last. Because I did and I have now been married for 39 years. So it can happen.

Whiskey “her philosophy is ‘What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger!”’ She must be the strongest person ever because all the bad things that happen to her and it didn’t kill her!

I will let you read the synopsis that Krissy V provides you since I think the author does a far better job of telling you what the book is about.

Krissy V knows how to bring out your emotions in her writing. Whiskey is a fairly short book, 176 pages per Amazon.

This book comes with a warning:
"WARNING: Due to sexual situations and adult content, this dark romance thriller series is not intended for readers under the age of 18, and anyone who is unable to read books containing, kidnapping, murder, rape, and extreme abuse."

I received a copy of Whiskey for an honest review. I give this book 4 stars and I am looking forward to the next book.
