Ten seconds can change everything.

I fell in love with him twelve years ago when I was little more than a child. In the blink of an eye, he went from my best friend’s big brother to Tucker – the boy who made my heart beat faster with just a look. But he never saw me as anything more than family and I was forced to let him go.

Years later, all it took was one kiss, ten seconds of his lips pressed against mine, to knock my world off its axis and resurrect every old feeling I had buried so long ago. Now, there’s only one thing that I want and his name is Tucker Harrington.

Something is holding him back. There’s a darkness inside him that sometimes clouds his eyes and erases every piece of the fun, mischievous boy I fell in love with. His secrets haunt him and if he’s not willing to fight, how will we ever survive?

Arc provided from author for an HONEST review

First I just want to say that this is my opinion of this book. I know many of my book friends would have a different opinion.

I loved the first book in this series which is why I jumped at the chance to read this one. What I was not expecting was a new couple going through the same dramas of the first book just telling it from their POV. I know this is done a bit but I have already read that story so I like a new one when I pick up the next book. Yes, Tucker and Daisy had their own story and had intense chemistry but I do not think it was enough.

For the first 50% I was like..................
 photo seriously_zpsoqtwnts2.gif
There was just nothing happening and so much repetition in the dialogue and the internal dialogue I was so close to DNF.

The second 50% had more stuff going on but it was all the drama from the first book again which just had me skimming.

So sorry not sorry this one just fell flat

After reading her debut novel, Hidden Scars, I was very eager to read more from A. M. Myers. I jumped at the chance to read Collateral Damage and share my thoughts. I liked Daisy and Tucker's chemistry right from the beginning and how the story jumped right into their sexual tension. The characters in this book appeared easily to the mind. An example were Joel and Daisy in chapter one: Their friendship and banter were seamless and fun to read. I also liked how the timeline matched-up with the events from Hidden Scars and how I got to see that story from additional perspectives. Right after Daisy and Tucker slept together, I was wondering what would happen next. I was awaiting the conflict that I knew would be working to keep them apart, and sure enough there it was in the form of Tucker wanting to keep their relationship a secret. Although their pattern becomes a bit repetitive, I found the sex scene in chapter four to be HOT. When they finally decide to have a conversation about their future during the meteor shower, I thought that it was the perfect time for them to broach that subject again. Even after this lovely scene, there was still conflict to be had and I got downright angry at Tucker for his behavior and admired Daisy for finding the strength to seek what she truly wanted and deserved. I can relate with her about not wanting any regrets in her relationship with Tucker, even if it leaves her heartbroken. I had a huge WOW moment at the family barbecue when Tucker basically rejects her in front of everyone. I applauded Daisy's strength in chapter eighteen. Later, when Tucker learns about Emma's pregnancy and finally comes to his senses, I let out a huge sigh of relief. The ending of this book was very sweet and satisfying, even causing me to laugh out loud at one point. I really enjoyed reading Collateral Damage.

description

This was a friends to lovers story about two people who have known each other since childhood and kept their feelings hidden until one moment of weakness changes everything. Tucker and Daisy have known each other practically all their lives. Daisy had a crush on Tucker when she was in high school but as she grew older she thought she put those old feelings behind her. However when Tucker shows up at her house drunk one night to discuss his sister their relationship changes.

Going into this story I had not read book 1, Hidden Scars, but I honestly didn't feel as though I was missing anything. While I would like to go back and read book one just to have an opportunity to delve deeper into that aspect of the story, I still manage to enjoy this story without having read that one. The chemistry and attraction and love between Tucker and Daisy was obvious from almost the very beginning of this story. And for a while I very much enjoyed the build-up. Even when we learned that Tucker wanted to keep their relationship a secret and Daisy unhappily agreed, building a relationship between them was still very interesting to watch grow and evolve. There was also some fantastic secondary characters and the general storytelling had me absolutely hooked. All of these elements are what made me enjoy this story, I only had one hang up.

I felt like after a while I started to lose interest in the back and forth between Daisy and Tucker. In the beginning I enjoyed their relationship growing despite the secret. I felt for Daisy seeing how badly she was hurting having to keep the secret when she loved him so much. And I was curious about what Tucker was hiding and when it would be exposed and resolved so that they too could have their happily ever after. I, however, was very surprised that it ended up taking as long as it did. The story ends up taking a pretty large time jump and I have to say I was disappointed that things stayed the way they were for so long. I almost felt that their love should have driven them together sooner. However this was my only disappointment with the story.

With the romance, and heart wrenching situations, the devotion between the characters and tons of steam this turned out to be a pretty fantastic read.

I fell in love with A.M. Meyers and her writing style with Hidden Scars and was not disappointed at all with Collateral Damage. Tucker and Daisy's story is a complicated one. There was lots of sexual tension and drama not only between each other but those around them as well.

In Collateral Damage the story takes you behind-the-scenes of Hidden Scars. You are brought back into the story of Emma and the struggles she went through and how it affected not only herself but her friends and family. You also learn that Daisy, Emma's best friend, has had a crush on Tucker (Emma's Brother) for the longest time. Not knowing that Tucker secretly felt the same way until one night when a drunk Tucker showed up on Daisy's doorstep. From that point on the struggle of their relationship began - one wanted to keep it a secret while the other wanted to shoot it from the rooftop that they were together. All this was going on while they both were trying to protect Emma.

There were times throughout the book that I wanted to smack Tucker for his stubbornness and not seeing what was right in front of him. Then At the same time I wanted to high five Daisy for standing her ground and not taking less then she deserves. Will they be able to overcome their struggles from the past to make a place for each other in the future. One-Click today and find out!

I truly enjoyed reading Collateral Damage. There were parts that I felt were slow and repetitive from Hidden Scars but overall the story was well written and I loved getting to know Tucker And Daisy better.

I can't wait for more from A.M.Meyers!

10 STARS

Whose idea was it to only give books 5 stars? This is a 10 star book in my opinion!

I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review and honestly, I LOVED THIS BOOK.

Part of my honesty, I didn't realize this was book 2 in a series - so, I do have to go back and read the first one BUT I feel this could be read as a standalone - but I guess to get to the full gist maybe starting with Hidden Scars.

Anyway ....

Tucker and Daisy have been keeping their feeling for each other bottled up for quite some time, until he comes over one night, drunk, and kisses her.

At first, It started off slow - but things quickly heated up. Tucker is a stubborn, self centered jerk and there were times I wanted to punch him - and Daisy ... girl, I am so glad you stood your ground. Not many heroine's can say that ... LOL

Their chemistry is undeniable. Ugh! I found myself wanting to keep reading to find out what happens next.

A.M. Myers is beyond amazing and I can not wait to read more from her!

Tucker and Daisy have been friends since kids but one day he began looking at Daisy as something more and in a drunken moment he acted on it. Tucker is torn because he loves Daisy but something in his past is keeping him from making it permanent.

Daisy had a huge crush on Tucker when she was younger but she would never have guessed that years later Tucker would be interested in her. The only problem is Tucker wants to keep it secret until he can get himself sorted. Daisy is willing to wait but after mixed signals from Tucker she realizes they want different things and tells Tucker they are over unless he can give her everything she deserves.

I liked this one but there was a couple things that had me scratching my head about Tucker and the issues he was dealing with. Overall good story and I liked this couple together, had segway into the first book Hidden Scars. Great series, new author for me.

I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review. I was worried that I had myself too excited for the release of the book and that it would not measure up to my expectation. Well I’m telling you I had absolutely NOTHING to worry about, this book was beyond amazing. It was an emotional roller coaster of epic proportions. The Chemistry between Daisy & Tucker was intense and all consuming. The heartache between the two was killer. This book deals with real issues that have you feeling and connecting with the characters. Tucker can be a bit of a stubborn, arrogant jerk but he has his reasons and it will break your heart when you find out why. Daisy is a sassy independent woman who will have you wanting to fist bump her for standing her ground. This was an amazing read by A M Myers and I look forward to reading more from her.

What an emotional filled read. I couldn't put it down. I was drawn in from the first word and wanted to cry because it was over. You can feel the emotions of these two in every word. You root for them and cry for them and then wanna smack them for not seeing what's in front of them.

Collateral Damage is a best friend’s brother romance with some mystery thrown in and a touch of suspense in the background. I sat down to read it this morning and I carried my e-reader everywhere I went today, unwilling to have the book out of reach until I finished it just a few minutes ago. I must say, WOW!

This book is the second of three novels in a series (Hidden Scars) but it can be read as a standalone without the reader feeling like they are walking into the middle of a story. However, skipping the first book, Hidden Scars, is not advised because it is such a great story and you would be missing out. For those that have read Hidden Scars, this book’s time line runs parallel to the first book but it is not overly repetitive and it remains in the background until they have to converge.

Daisy has loved her best friend’s brother, Tucker, since she was a child. Tucker has always treated her like his own little sister, until one night and one kiss changes everything. Or does it? Can Daisy’s love and patience break down the walls Tucker has been building for his entire adult life? Will Daisy be strong enough to hold out for the love she deserves? Will Tucker realize that his past doesn’t erase his worth of a future? Will Daisy and Tucker even survive the storm that is brewing in the background? I am not telling!

Daisy was a rare and impressive woman in the romance world. She was kind, patient, and understanding but she was no doormat. She gave Tucker a fair shot and s few chances but she knew when to stand her ground and she stood it so well that it broke my heart. Her loyalty, capacity to love, patience and strength are inspirational. She is officially my new favorite romance heroine.

Tucker is a yummy, dirty talking, alpha with a side helping of damage that draws me in but his stubbornness and secrecy had me shaking my Kindle and raising my voice in exasperation. Tucker’s secret remains intact for the majority of the book, building curiosity and frustration to a boiling point. When he finally shares his story, my heart broke just a little bit more.

This book gave me so many feels. There were moments that made me chuckle out loud. There were many moments that had me fanning myself and I may have sent my husband a text or two asking him to come home from work early. Curiosity and frustration were plentiful when it came to trying to figure out what made Tucker the way he is. My heart broke for both characters but Daisy’s plight had me shedding some quiet tears. Collateral Damage has everything I look for in a great book. The story pulled me in and held on tight, forcing me to finish in under a day. I felt for the characters. The background story, while familiar to me, was told from a perspective different to that of the first novel so it didn’t feel like I was reading the same thing over again. The perfect level of angst that pushed the story forward and didn’t feel like filler made me love the book even more.

This book forces you to feel every emotion. You feel every word said between Daisy and Tucker. So emotional, it was heartfelt. It was gut wrenching. The love and loyalty was thread the the whole book.

He was her best friend’s brother. Daisy fell in love with Tucker twelve years ago yet never felt as if he saw her as more than the girl who hung out with his sister. Until he kissed her. Now things between them have changed. Except not in the way she expected.

I like the idea of Collateral Damage. I love how close and supportive the characters are. There’s plenty of depth yet the story was a bit predictable when it came to Tucker and Daisy. You could really tell how much they cared about each other and their chemistry was unquestionable. I am glad that Daisy stood up for herself and what she wanted in the end. That she put herself first and decided that she deserved more. Tucker was very frustrating to say the least. He had his reasons for what he did but he's a bit selfish. Initially, it was like he didn't care that how he wanted things would effect Daisy as long as he got what he wanted. No, she didn't make the best decision when she agreed to it but it doesn't change the fact that he wanted things to be that way. That being said, I feel like the supporting characters and what happened in book one somewhat took over the story. Almost as if what Tucker and Daisy were going through was just filler to that issue. I understand that this was supposed to coincide with book one but at the same time I feel like if this is supposed to be Daisy and Tucker’s story then that’s who I want to read about. They are who the story’s main focus should be on. I didn’t really get that with this book. Since it does revolve around what happens in book one, I also understand that certain portions of that story should be highlighted or mentioned but it made it really hard for me to focus on what was going on with Daisy and Tucker. Aside from that, I thought Collateral Damage was written well. I just wish I could have gotten more out of the main characters and what they were going through.

Wow...Collateral Damage is a magnificent addition to the Hidden Scars series. I didn't think Myers could top Emma and Nix's story in book one but damn she exceeded my expectations in this book. Both books could be read as stand alones but they compliment the other book completely. This friend to lovers story is brilliantly written and you will not be able to put it down. I read this in one sitting and will be reading the third book as soon as I can.

Daisy has been in love with Tucker for twelve years. He is her best friends brother and as far as she knows he sees her only as his sisters best friend. Daisy is an independent, strong, woman loyal to her family and friends. She has been told all her life to not settle for second best and she hasn't had many relationships because Tucker has always been the one for her. Tucker has always been Aline and never had too many girlfriends just his high school girlfriend and no one knows what truly happened between them except for his brother Trey.

And now let this emotional rollercoaster ride begin. The scorching hot chemistry between Daisy and Trevor fuels most of the book. No one can deny the love they see them have for the other. And absolutely no one can understand why they haven't openly admitted their feelings for each other. This book continues Emma and Nix's story interwoven with Tucker and Daisy's and it brilliantly shows how feelings can be misconstrued and hurtful to the other people in your life. The story does drag a little at the end as Myers ties up both story lines but not enough to drop my rating. The secondary characters in this book are as strong and as likeable as Hidden Scars and you will not be disappointed with either book and they both can be read by themselves with no detriment to the other. If you have never read a book by AM Myers please consider it an imperative for you will truly be missing a great story.

WOW that is all I can after reading Hidden Scars, I wanted to plow right into this one. I am so glad I did. This is Tucker and Daisy's story, from Emma's brother and one of her best friends. How for years Daisy wanted Tucker but he never knew she was alive until that one faithful night when things were going south for Emma. This book gives you insight along with things happening to Emma it works so well with it. There is a lot of bantering, loving, sex in this one that makes your toes curl, your heart pump a few beats harder, with their the suspense or the excitement. Either way your blood get going.

I love this storyline and can't wait to finish this series. You really don't want to miss this 2nd book in the Hidden Scars series. As well written as Hidden Scars was I do believe this one is better. In my opinion. Again, with the way this is looped withing Hidden Scars there are some triggers, but for the most part this is light hearted, fun and gives you so much more. A Must Read in my opinion. Their story is awesome!

I read Hidden Scars by Ashley when it came out and completely fell in love with the characters she introduced us to, I was so excited to get Tucker and Daisy’s story.

I have to say though I found this one a little harder to connect with that the first. Don’t get me wrong I really did enjoy it but there were just some parts of the story I felt were a little slow and the characters weren’t just as easy to connect with.

Tucker was not at all what I was expecting him to be, he annoyed me a lot in this book and I swear I really wanted to throat punch him multiple times. He really had my temper flaring with his need to keep Daisy a secret and not tell his family or anyone else he was with her. I was dying to find out why he was like that.

Daisy had been in love with Tucker for years but never thought he would see her as anything other than his sisters best friend, she is shocked to find out thats not the case. I was frustrated at times with Daisy, I felt like she let Tucker walk all over her and I wanted to her stand up for herself more than she did. It really broke my heart how Tucker treated Daisy and the fact that she let it go on for so long.

You could feel the sexual tension between these two characters leaping off the pages and I think thats what I like so much about Ashley’s stories. I always feel like the emotions they are feeling jump off the pages and make me feel them right alongside each character.

Overall I really did enjoy this story, it was nice seeing how things from the first book affected these two characters and also to see their bond with Emma. I’m looking forward to reading Trey and Addy’s story next.

Collateral Damage by A.M. Myers is book 2 in her Hidden Scars Series.

This book takes place along the same time line as book 1 but is from the point of view of Daisy and Tucker.

Daisy and Tucker both find they have an attraction to each other but neither ever acted on it until one drunken night Tucker kissed Daisy. After that, they couldn't stay away from each other.

The problem is that Tucker wants to keep their relationship a secret from all their friends and family and he won't tell Daisy why.

Let me tell you, when Daisy and Tucker were on, it was nothing but steamy hot! So be ready to fan yourselves ladies.

It was interesting seeing book one from a different point of view. You get a better picture of what was going on behind the scenes and even get new information that you didn't learn in the first book.

The writing was spot on and I love the characters they are extremely believable. However, after awhile it started feeling like an endless cycle of make up and break up. I found myself thinking, "get on with it already."

Having said that, I was glad that Daisy knew her worth and wasn't willing to settle no matter what. I enjoy a strong female lead. I kept hoping they found their happily ever after.

In short, this was a good book and it was worth sticking out the long relationship problems to see how it turned out in the end.

Collateral Damage (Hidden Scars #2)
By AM Myers

Reviewed by Bianca

As my introduction to the writings of AM Myers this was as absolutely beautiful.
I have not read Hidden Scars and the depth of Emma's story, but even so Collateral Damage reads as a standalone in its own right.

A.M Myers writes a mesmerising story. One filled with love, lust, feelings of unworthiness, and second chances.
Daisy is sweet, caring, loyal, and strong. She stands her ground, and I was amazed by her inner strength, a sassy heroine.
Tucker is a smouldering heartthrob, romantic, dark, mysterious and distant. Can these two people who seem destined to be together ever find their way to one another? Will Tucker ever find that he is every bit worthy of Daisy’s love??
A drunk Tucker and a lingering kiss sets this riveting romance off.
I loved the relationship between Daisy and tucker, even though I wanted to shake some sense into Tucker!
I will definitely be reading Hidden Scars to get the details on Emma and Nix.

Fantastic storyline and a real page turner. Gripping till the final word. I look forward to reading more from the talented writtings of AM Myers.

I received an ARC for an honest reveiw.

I love a great unattainable romance and Collateral Damage is definitely it! Daisy has been in love with her best friends brother Tucker for 12 years. Always thinking he was out of reach - that changed when he kissed her while being drunk one night. Those 10 seconds turned Daisy and Tuckers lives upside down. Tucker has always wanted Daisy ever since they were kids but never thought he was good enough. Then when he couldnt take it anymore he shows up at her house and does the unthinkable. Now what is he going to do?

I loved AM Myers first book Hidden Scars and what is fantastic about this is that both stories run parellel which I found to be fantastic and very well done. The author does a great job keeping the continuity which is very difficult to do. The ARC of the characters was also well done especially for Daisy what she does in hard situations was admirable. The only reason I didnt give this a 5 is that there was some back story for Tucker that the author eluded to but we didnt get a lot of insight to that I thought was really interesting. Other than that I really loved this book.

Well Myers has done it again! She took months of her life and poured it into this amazing story that I devoured in one day!! Don't get me wrong though I will most definitely read it again. Honestly...and I was not sure this was possible but I think I love Tucker and Daisy's story more than Emma and Nix's!
Daisy is sweet and passionate! She is determined and fierce! Tucker is.....so swoon worthy! Every encounter he has with Daisy eats me up inside! I could not get enough!
Collateral Damage is book 2 in the Hidden Scars series and while she did a beautiful job covering all the important details from book 1 on book 2 I highly recommend reading book 1 first!
With that said Collateral Damage does run through the same time line as Hidden Scars and Myers did such an amazing job tying the details together from both stories.
This book does cover some trigger topics including domestic violence and

Daisy has been in love with Tucker since as long, as she can remember. The only problem is Tucker never knew it. Daisy watches Tucker have a serious relationship and realises that she should let go of her feelings for him, and she does, until one night and one kiss.
After sharing one sizzling kiss Daisy and Tucker decide to give a relationship a try with only one problem, that Tucker doesn’t want anyone to know about it. After waiting for Tucker to work our he’s issues, Daisy gets tired of being his dirty little secret and decides to call off the relationship.
Tucker is torn apart as he only told one person what went on with his ex and it has been eating him up ever since. Tucker is torn up with how much he loves Daisy and the fact that he can’t live without her, but thinks it may be too late.
I really felt for both Daisy and Tucker throughout the story as the both had genuine reasons for what they were both doing and how torn they were.
Although this can be read as a standalone, there are characters from the others in the series so I’m getting them to find out their stories.

Collateral Damage is the second book about the Harrington Clan. It is focused on Tucker and Daisy, who we met in Hidden Scars. Tucker is the oldest of the three kids and the older brother to Emma. Daisy is her best friend. Daisy has been in love with Tucker since she was a pre-teen. She is loyal and loving and a great character. Tucker is a tough and stubborn, but sexy and very protective of the women in his family. This extends to the friends of his little sister.

Things begin to change when Tucker begins to see Daisy differently. However, Tucker has some ghosts in his closet and he doesn't believe that he is good enough for sweet Daisy. A drunken kiss changes the fate of both Daisy and Tucker.

Collateral Damage is a great story about becoming more than friends and overcoming your ghosts. I liked Tucker and Daisy from the beginning and I loved that they had their own story. A good read from A.M. Myers.

I fell in love with A.M. Myers when I read Hidden Scars. The book became personal and I had connected with the characters.

Book 2 Collateral Damage could be read as a stand alone, but I suggest reading book 1 first. Daisy fell in love with her best friends brother Tucker and was unaware he felt the same way until he shows up on her doorstep drunk one night.

Once their feelings are revealed to each other Daisy wants to share it however Tucker wants it kept it hush as if she was a dirty little secret. At times I struggled with this and wanted to bitch slap Tucker and at the same time cheered on Daisy hoping Tucker would finally come around.

This is definitely a must read!

I really enjoyed reading Daisy's story. She is a very loyal friend and amazing all round. I liked the way the book was showing Daisy's point of view from what was happening in Hidden Scars.
Tucker is a great character in his own right. He might be fucked up but he overcomes his demons in the end. I think people would be able to relate to his character.

Daisy has been in love with Tucker for as long as she could remember. Never acting on her feelings. He just sees her as his little sisters best friend after all. Or so she thought.

One drunken kiss ruined everything. Tucker can't believe he fucked up like that. He can't give her what she deserves he's not good enough.

This second book in the series revisits many things in book one however from a different POV.
Tucker, Emma's older brother is very protective of his sister. Daisy, one of Emma's best friends, has had a crush on Tucker for many years but they have never explored any sort of relationship together. Things change but don't change!
This is quite a frustrating story at times where I could easily shake Tucker hoping he would wake up! The sign of a reader being invested in the story? I think so.
It's good to see Daisy has some sass and backbone throughout the story. All is revealed about Tucker's past however he still needed shaking! LOL

The second book in the Hidden Scars series is about Tucker and Daisy.

I couldn't wait to sink into this book after reading about the pair in the first book and catching a glimpse of where they end up.

It's a story of unrequited love on behalf of Daisy and how she deals with that and her budding relationship with Tucker. Their chemistry was intense, but unfortunately, I found it a little too repetitive and wanted to shake Daisy more than a few times.

Being that you get a look into the future in book one the ending was sweet but predictable.

I love series, i love catching up with the people we have already read about and those still to meet.
I clicked to buy this book as soon as i saw it was available.
Loved it.
Could not get enough. I was cheering for them the entire book.
The strength of the characters relationships and the detail in the books is fantastic

If you have read the first def get this. If you have not read either yet, then go out and get them!

after meeting everyone in the first book, I could not read this one fast enough. the strength of family and love that has lasted a lifetime is amazing. you feel as if these guys are your brothers and the security that family is. everyone has a past that can haunt you when you least expect it but finding trust in someone who has never been far is just the right thing to break those chains

This was a very interesting and entertaining book that had me hooked from the moment that I started reading. The characters are amazing and you feel as though you know them personally and want to see them happy. This book moves along at the perfect pace for reading, not to fast nor to slow. This book needs to be on your TBR list, you will not be sorry that you did.
