Dragon Hunter (complete 4 part serial), and book 1 of Dragon Guild Chronicles.

The tale of Neko & Lumen...

Neko is a strong, independent hunter who's skilled with blades---and at keeping to herself. But when she finds herself face to face with the most gorgeous, alluring man she's ever met, things change quickly. She's going to have to make a decision: to trust the Dragon shifter, or to trust the strange, mysterious man who's wandered into her office to hire her to kill him?

Lumen is a Dragon shifter of the ancient line of Kindred. He has responsibilities to his own kind, and isn't looking for a mate. That is, until he meets the beautiful, dangerous Hunter who's been hired to take him down. To complicate matters, he can't stop thinking about her, and his inner Dragon is pretty sure they're meant to be together.

Will love and lust win out over duty and complication?

Exciting, mysterious, really mythical

So many mythical creatures that were intertwined. The story just took off. You really need to pay attention or you will be lost.

DIVINELY ENTERTAINING !!!
Title: Dragon Hunter Box Set
Series: Dragon Hunter Chronicles
Designation: Complete Four Book Collection, Full-Length Standalone, NO Cliffhanger
Author: Carina Wilder
Genre: Paranormal Romance/Urban Fantasy
Reading Platform: Kindle Edition
My Rating: Five Captivating Stars*****
Wow! Carina Wilder has totally rocked my world with Dragon Hunter: Box Set, the complete four book subset collection of her riveting new Dragon Hunter Chronicles Saga. Originally this story was released as a four book serial but never fear, the story is now complete, so no fuss, no muss and NO waiting! This box set includes all four installments which means this can be read as a standalone and NO cliffhangers! I love paranormal romance and adore urban fantasy but put the two together and I'm in heaven. Fortunately for me, that's exactly what Carina Wilder has delivered with Dragon Hunter, and once again she's left me completely breathless. I've been a loyal Carina Wilder fan for several years, devouring everything she writes, but she's truly raised the bar with this story. Wilder is an incredibly skilled wordsmith as well as gifted storyteller with an extraordinary imagination. She excels at building realistic, vividly depicted fantasy worlds filled with intriguing supernatural characters who literally explode from the pages, come to life and capture your heart. And without a doubt, Dragon Hunter is some of her best work to date with a riveting storyline with a familiar backdrop, a cast of fascinating characters and enough suspense to keep you glued to your seat, white knuckling your ereader with your heart fluttering wildly in your chest. And just how do I know this after reading only the first installment? Well, I'm so glad you asked. Usually I read each of Wilder's books as soon as they're published but I may have cheated a little this time and waited until all four installments had been released, then binged on the completed collection, all 400 pages of deliciously sexy goodness. So with that in mind, I have written one review to post for each of the books. But don't worry, my review doesn't include spoilers. Oh, and FYI, she's also already released the box set containing all four books of the serial. Initially, I purchased the first book, but then discovered the entire serial was complete and published in one collection, and available under the Kindle Unlimited program. Well I jumped on it like white on rye! Gotta love Kindle Unlimited!

But as usual, I digress so let's talk specifics about Dragon Hunter. The story is an exciting, imaginative, fast paced, well crafted and well edited story which, in my opinion, is a cross between paranormal romance and urban fantasy with supernatural elements woven throughout. The narrative is beautifully written in the third person with alternating his and her perspectives from the two protagonists, beautiful, independent, fearless and endearingly spunky Hunter Neko Sands, and handsome, fearless, valiant and very gallant Kindred water dragon-shifter Lumen Riddick. The dialogue is smart, snappy, seductive, well executed, sometimes humorous and flows effortlessly. But the pivotal and my favorite component of this story is the cast of intriguing characters. They are captivating, engaging, endearing, well developed and sexy as sin. I was immediately smitten with the courageous and strong-willed Neko and fell head over heels in love with the charismatic, loyal Lumen. Sigh..... They were so very different yet so much alike, complementing each other brilliantly. And their sexual chemistry was smokin' hot! I even found myself totally fascinated by the uniqueness of the antagonists of this story so they also deserve praise. I found them to be quite inventive and different from anything I've ever encountered. Wilder skillfully combines these elements to craft a divinely entertaining paranormal saga filled to the brim with wondrous magic, breathtaking fantasy, heart-pounding danger, edge of your seat suspense, heated attraction, fiery passion, sweet romance and dreamy sex.

Beautiful and very independent twenty-four year old Neko Sands lives a solitary life, one filled with danger, violence and death. But Neko is much different than the other young women who walk the streets of London. At only five years old, Neko realized she was different and some would say special, possessing a unique ability to see, sense and track supernatural beings. As a result, she devotes her life to working as a Hunter, ridding the world of the Lapsed, murderous insidious creatures who resemble frightening zombified shifters who are truly evil. Even her off days are spent performing acts of vigilantism, rescuing victims on the streets of London. Yes, she kills but only the evil creatures who roam and terrorize the streets of London. Although she may not realize it, Neko is so much more than just a Hunter; she's a Seeker and her destiny is yet to be fulfilled. She feels called to protect the innocent, both human and shifter alike. It gives her live meaning and purpose. She refuses to trust or depend on anyone other than herself. She's never needed anyone, especially a man.....until now....until him....Lumen Riddick, a man too beautiful, too charismatic and too perfect to be human. No matter how hard she tries, she can't resist the attraction she feels for Lumen. It's surpassess anything Neko has ever experienced and now that she's met him, her life as well as her future has become entwined with his. Neko suddenly finds herself torn between two lives, one she's always known and a strange yet exciting new one with her as an integral part of something intense, mysterious, ancient and life changing. A dangerous battle looms but dangerous to whom? To humans? To shifters? To her??? And upon which side will she find herself? What do you trust...your heart or your duty??? But more importantly, whom do you trust when you trust no one???

Lumen is a water dragon and leader of the Kindred. The safety of all dragons as well as other shifters depends on keeping their existence a secret but a dangerous enemy is lurking in the shadows of London, seeking to destroy them. The Lapsed, evil mindless malevolent creatures, are being manipulated by mysterious entities called Controllers who wishes to steal the Kindred's power and they have the perfect plan to accomplish their goals. A Controller has hired Neko Sands, the best Hunter the Syndicate employs, to track and kill Lumen; for without Lumen, there can be no Seeking and no Gathering. Lumen and his brethren have known for centuries this day would come but the one thing Lumen could never have anticipated is the beautiful Hunter hired to assassinate him. Unfortunately, in order to defeat the evil threatening his Kindred brothers and all humanity, he must seek and find one of the four hidden symbols which make up the Relic, a circular object needed to complete the ritualistic Gathering. For each symbol represented as the sigils for Water, Fire, Air and Earth, there is a Seeker (Kindred) who seeks it, plus a Keeper (dragon) who holds his verse. When the time comes, the two unite and the Keeper provides the Seeker with his verse which serves as the clue hopefully enabling him to find his one quarter of the Relic. If the relics are discovered by the Controllers, it could mean not only the end of everything for both shifters and humans but also the end of a possible future for Lumen and Neko. But to succeed, Lumen needs the beautiful Hunter's help. Lumen quickly realizes he doesn't just want Neko to help with his quest, he needs her like he needs his next breath. But will she help him and if so, will he ever be able to trust her??? Oh my! It sounds complicated but it's really not! lol.... It is, however, exciting, riveting, thrilling, suspenseful, sexy and romantic!

When reviewing and rating a book, there are several questions I always ask myself. First, Did I love, like or hate the story? Quite obviously, I loved it! I adored the premise for the story as well as the characters. Neko was an incredible heroine, beautiful, strong, brave, selfless and loyal but without conceit. And Lumen was a true joy, handsome, charming, understanding, courageous and a true romantic at heart. Even from the beginning, he was never afraid to admit his feelings for Neko. Of course, it took Neko a little longer, but she finally came around. lol...I found the story to be original, unique and very imaginative. It was also well crafted, well edited and beautifully written. There wasn't a single thing I didn't like about this story and nothing I would change. Like Goldilocks, it was just right!
Second, would I recommend this book? You bet and I am but only for adult readers. It does contain some steamy love scenes. Many of Wilder's fans know that she writes quite a few menage scenarios but this story is strictly one male and one female.
Third, will I read this author again? Abso-freaking-lutely! Just as soon as she releases her next book. As a matter of fact, I can hardly wait for her to release the next story in The Dragon Hunter Chronicles which she has already announced will be entitled Dragon Seeker releasing July 31, 2016. Woo-Hoo!
And finally, was I entertained? Oh yes, totally and completely entertained from page one until the very last line. I was completely enthralled, glued to my chair, white knuckling my ereader with the pages flying as did the time. Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!

Dragon shifter fantasy set in modern day London with a human hunter of evil creatures that falls in love with the dragon shifter that she is sent to kill. There is a mystery with three other dragon shifters which clearly makes this part of a series. This is a stand alone story told in four 'books'.
Neko is a human born hunter that finds herself trapped in a situation that eventually she embraces, but at first is very confusing when she thought she already knew about the hidden shifter world. Neko and the dragon shifter, Lumen have lots of chemistry, and can even read each other's thoughts, but they have major communication problems. Perhaps because they are used to being alone and independent and not being in a relationship with dull the instincts of sharing and compromise.
This book needs a little editor re-read because there are lots of "your" instead of "you're" mistakes that a computer will mistake the homonyms that a professional editor will catch easily.
Still a fun read set in a well developed cosmos, but I'm not interested in reading any more in the series.

There once was a Dragon.....

Who thought he could seduce a Hunter. But that Hunter, Neko, had been paid kill said Dragon, Lumen. Paid enough money for her to retire; which she been thinking of more and more lately. So what if there have been a major increase in the number of Laspsed turning up in London in the past few months. Those creatures that used to be proud shifters but now were mindless, shuffling zombie-like abominations. Who will be seduced and who will die? Neko, Lumen, both or neither? Paranormal romance at its finest. You will fall in luv with the Dragons and the Hunters of this story. They will come to life with each page you turn. Some of the finest writing I've seen in a while. The ongoing storyline that lays the foundation for this new series, Dragon Guild Chronicles. I can't wait to read the next book. Highly recommended

Really Good!

Carina Wilder built a society where shifters are known to exist, no longer creatures of myth. Well some of them. So there comes a group that protects both humans and shifters from rogues.
An evolving love story, an upcoming war, brings out the dragons. And things get hot! Set in England, London and surrounding areas it kept me entertained and questioning who the enemy was for a bit. Enjoy!

This is a good book. A little different take on dragons and shifters. Neko is a Hunter, and Lumen is a dragon shifter. Together they must go on a quest and if the dragons fail, the world will be a much darker place. Ancient evil has resurfaced and the Hunters and dragons need to join forces to fight it. Romance aside, I couldn't put this down because I wanted to know what happened. This is another quick, fun read.

A quest has started and if the dragons fail the world will be a much darker place. Ancient evil has resurfaced and now the Hunters and dragons need to join forces to fight it. One hunter and one dragon are drawn to one another and is their effeports that will find the first link.

It was ok.

It is funny to me that the female lead has to be rescued constantly primarily due to her ill conceived notions but she takes pride in being strong independent and smart. Then she saves the day and she is a hero. If you like that logic then this is the book for you. As for me I will be moving on to another author.

Decent but could use editing

The concepts and world introduced were interesting and entertaining, though nothing outstanding. However, I found a number of issues with how it was written, most notably the author's unsuccessful struggle with writing third person omniscient. A good editor could clean up that plus some of the other inconsistencies.

Great start to the series!

I really enjoyed this book. I love paranormal romances that are suspenseful and have strong characters. Not only was I was looking for all that but also something different from the typical bear/wolf/tiger shifter stories. I was lucky to get this book free and plan on purchasing the next book in this series.

Dragon Hunter

This was a good book to begin the series. You are introduced to the location and the characters along with the plot of the rise of the forsaken. Dragons, hunter/seekers, and humans fight to keep the forsaken from taking over London and possibly the world. It is a stand alone book, but I definitely want to read more in the series.

Great start and exciting!

What an awesome Hunter! Neko is a walking and fighting fantasy for any dragon, much less a man like Lumen. Powerful and utterly gorgeous, Niko and Lumen fight with the other dragons and hunters to save humanity. Great book.
