~Doc
When Ember walked out on me I was ready to be put to ground. I barely gave a f*ck what happened to me before, but after she left, I didn’t care at all. The brothers always knew me as a hard ass with no feelings, which only got worse after she left.
The night I ran into her at the Dungeon, those feelings of pain, love, and lust returned in an instant. Then I found out about our son, and the pain I had been living with for the past five years blew up, with no one to blame but her.
When I find out the truth of why she left, no one will be safe.

~Ember
I thought that what we shared was in the past, leaving me with the most precious of gifts, my baby boy, Vincent. I came back to be closer to my father and thought that no one would notice I was back.
I was wrong.
As soon as I saw Doc again, all the feelings from the past came rushing back, I lost my heart to him on the spot, for the second time in my life. He is so angry and upset with me for leaving, but I had my reasons, and he will never get an apology from me for that.
When he finds out the truth, no one will be safe from him.
Not even me.

This book was so ... REAL, it just hit a nerve or spot within me that actually prevented me from posting a review as soon as I finished reading it. It was just too fresh, too real, too emotional for me to write about at the time.
This is the 4th book in the Devils Iron MC series and it delves into the past & present lives of 2 characters introduced to us in book 3, Doc & Ember. It also opens up past hurts & fears, feelings of betrayal & secrets kept. That's not the typical sounding MC read ... but it definitely works, and works dang well!
This is not a quick, typical bad boy, good girl, erotic read! This is a gut-grabbing exploration of feelings, pain & redemption & love! It's got it all ... and it's very, very well written (as usual for author GM Scherbert).
This is a definite thumbs up, five star read!

I am new to not only this series but this author as well and I did go back and read the beginning books before reading this one. I can honestly say that I felt like it helped me understand the characters a little better. Not that you couldn't read this as a stand alone because you can. I enjoyed Doc, he was a bit of an enigma to me. Here was this guy who is very alpha male but then he could feel so deeply. You just didn't see it coming, although there were times when he didn't act as maturely as I knew his was. As the story progressed I began to understand him more.

Amber I could understand, she was a girl who is forced to leave Doc when her past catches up with her. She returns later not only in danger but with a secret. There were many ways that Ember could have been written but she came off as strong and in the world she is in she needed that strength. As I said I enjoyed both characters as well as the others that come into play. This book has it all and I found myself sucked right in to it.

This is another amazing book by GM Scherbert. This is what I been waiting for since finishing Pearl's Journey. I had to know what happened between Doc and Ember, after we meet them during Pearl's Journey. We knew something had gone on between them, and they have a kid together.
We meet Ember, she moved back to the area after running away years ago and hiding a big dark secret. She left town because of her ex boyfriend, but why did she run from Doc and why didn't she turn to him. All her secrets come to ahead one evening after seeing Doc in The Dungeon where she goes to be submissive.
We meet Doc, who is a member Devil Iron MC. He has hardened his heart since his heart got broken by the one woman who had his heart from beginning. He can't trust women after the one woman he loved ran off without a trace. His life gets flipped upside down when he sees Ember at The Dungeon then finding out he has a son.
Why did Ember run away all those years ago? Will Doc ever be able to forgive her for hiding his son Vincent from him?
This book is so emotional, but also makes you happy because you finally find out there history. I loved Doc and Ember as separate characters but together I loved them even more. WTMO.

I absolutely loved the story of Doc and Ember, and finally filling in the gaps that were only hinted at in Awakening. At this point in the series the characters feel like one big happy family, and there are some incredibly moving moments. As always, GM Scherbert does not disappoint with the shock factor peppered throughout resulting in final retribution for wrongs started in Awakening and continued here. As a couple, Doc and Ember seem like they might not make it in the beginning, but as the story progressed, you are clearly shown how deep their love is. I absolutely loved the adorably sweet happy ending with a few hints on what comes next for The Devil's Iron MC.

This book is a little different then books two and three and the reason I say this is because unlike books 2 & 3 this one would be fine reading as a standalone. If you have read books one through three you will see a lot of repeat stuff but from Doc and Ember’s perspective.

I love how the author started this book back were Doc and Ember first met. You will get to see the love, passion, hurt, and heartache these two went through. Beware this is a dark MC/BDSM romance and there are some triggers. For me I loved the fact that we got a MC BDSM combo.

We got to know Doc a little in books 1-3. We got to know Ember in book 3. If you read book 3 then you already know Ember and Doc had a kid that Doc knew nothing about. I can not imagine the hurt that Doc was feeling. I sure he had a lot of questions.

My heart broke for Ember. It is a wonder she wanted anything to do with Bikers or even man as far as that goes after all she had been through. When reading this story you have to wonder what would of happen if she would of just told Doc everything thing or call him after the rape. I understand her fear. Being young and pregnant and knowing the violence her ex can dish out, yeah I can understand it.

I love that we got to see Ember and Pearl together. Pearl getting to explore her Dom side and Ember as a perfect sub.

I did love the angry/love passion between Ember an Doc. It was hot, passionate, and very steamy.

This was a great book and glad I got a chance to read the book.

Doc and Ember’s story was one of the more poignant story lines in the Devil’s Iron series so far. Poor Ember was running from an awful, abusive, sadistic ex who caused irreparable damage to Ember. As soon as Ember saw her chance, she ran from him and didn’t look back. She remembered meeting Doc when she was with her ex, but Doc doesn’t remember her. Doc is entranced by Ember at first sight and knows she is the one for him. After a final vicious attack that causes Ember to flee from Doc with a life-changing secret, Ember makes her way in a new city and begins a new life. Five years later we find Ember returning to her hometown haunted by Doc and her love for him. Doc is still steaming that Ember left him five years ago with no word and when her secrets are revealed, his rage ignites into an inferno. What never died was his love for Ember. They work through their issues and find common ground in their activities at The Dungeon. Doc embraces a second chance with Ember and makes sure she never has reason to leave again.

Super hot read. You will not be disappointed

This is book four of the series. This book is about Ember. Ember was just sixteen when she left home. She didnt get along with her new stepmother. She left there and met Sara. After living with her for a while she met Clutch. A MC member. But one that was no good. After a few years of abuse she leaves him and goes back to Sara. Sara brings her to an event at the Devils Iron MC where she meets Vincent aka Doc. The sparks are huge and instant. Until.... Well you have to read it. So good! Love this series. But not for the faint of heart.

My favorite in the series so far

Scorching hot and exciting love story unlike anything I've read so far. It was almost impossible to put down and my finger is itching to click and find out where this series will take me next. Although this is Ember and Doc's story, we get glimpses of Pearl, Markus and Abraham. Also there are scenes that were first written in Pearl's Journey and is great to read them from Doc and Ember's perspective. GM Scherbert is an amazing author and I love that this series keeps expanding and bringing us more amazing characters and storylines.

This fourth book in the Devil Iron MC series is Doc and Ember’s journey. Their story is gritty, heart wrenching and so full of angst that at times you will be gripping the arms of your chair and holding your breath. When Ember up and vanished five years ago it left Doc angry, hurt and confused but even with his heart shattered these two remained true to the promises they had made. As their story unfolds truths will be revealed, hearts will need to be repaired and revenge will need to be sort.

This is the 4th Book in the Devil Iron MC and Wow is it great! We have the story of Doc and Ember. If you read Pearl's Journey, which is not necessary to understand what's going on, but it is useful, you know there's history between Doc and Ember. This is a story of pain & loss, fear, and true terror. This amazing author throws all that at us, then shows us hope, trust, loyality, and true love.
I can't wait for next book in this series!

Loved Doc

This is the fourth installation of the Devil Iron MC books. I've been a fan of both Doc and Ember from meeting them in earlier books. So it was nice to see their own story told. I was wishing to see more of their life together after the retelling in their POV's of the previous book though.

Excellent read!

I am so very happy with the ending of this story. They belong together and despite all the hardships, they find their way. The BDSM parts still bother me, but the rest is fantastic.

Yes!!!!

I love this couple. Doc and Ember spark. He takes care of her from the start. I love that they were able to reconnect even after she ran. The past sneaks up and they weather it together and move forward.

An end and beginning

It's wonderful to see bikers fall in love and magnificent to see them rebuild after heartbreak and reunion. Doc and Ember have a lot of rebuilding to do but her Ex needs out of the picture first and Doc is the one to make sure he is.

Book four in this series is Doc and Ember's story. Their ride is an emotional rollercoaster! I laughed, cried, feared, hated, lusted, loved and wanted to slap Doc up side his head a time or two! GM style of writing draws you, makes you feel....that has made her an automatic one clicker for me!!

It has been some time since I read the previous books in this series, but had no problem jumping into this story.

There is some time jumping back and forth in this story, but it helps to better understand where are characters are at emotionally. Ember didn't want to leave, but felt it was the only choice at the time. Doc has never forgotten the woman that left him without warning or reason and seeing her again in the most unexpected of places has thrown him for a loop. I loved watching these characters find their way back and the friends that surrounded them. I found the writing style much improved over the first book and the conversations not as stilted. My only complaint was how often Doc would get mad and walk away... it made me not trust that he would always be there when he needed to be. Overall a good read with some hawt action! Looking forward to the next installment.

“‘You have been the only one on my mind for five years, don’t you dare question that. Just because I don’t want to hear about the men that you have let have you, or can’t make it through an hour without wanting to hear you crumble beneath me even when I'm seeing red, don’t think that you will ever talk to me like that.’”

5 beat me whip me stars!! This is one short sexy read!

For this book being as short as it is, it is so full of detail, story and steamy sex!!! And while it’s sexy it will break your heart in certain places!! Gm certainly knows how to write one sexy book that will keep you on your toes!! I’m a huge fan and I’m obsessed about this series!!

I know it takes an awful lot of hard work and commitment to write a book, and I have the utmost respect for an author, but as a reader / reviewer we have to be honest.

The storyline for Doc’s Ember had so much potential, and parts of the book are good, such as the retribution scene with Doc and Clutch. Having read the first three books in the series I was aware of who Doc and Ember were, and was really interested to see what had happened in their past for Doc to be so angered by seeing Ember in the Dungeon. The story that we are told is harrowing and the thought of anything like that happening in reality had my head spinning.

For me the author seemed a little lost with how to tell this story. I wholeheartedly agree, given the nature of the storyline we needed to know what had happened to Doc and Ember, and for that we needed to go back in time, however the way it was written was very mechanical and didn’t flow all that well. The first 30% of the book told the story of their past, but I found it hard to connect with the story or the characters. Some parts of the book were repetitive and others felt rushed, and one of my biggest issues whilst reading was when the characters were talking / interacting. It felt as though you were being told what they said rather than seeing what was happening, if that makes sense, it was a lot of ‘Doc said’ or ‘then she said’. The speech was also very robotic, I much prefer it when you can read it as you’d expect to hear / speak it, so it’s the little things like ‘I’m’ rather than ‘I am’, and when reading an MC book these things really make a difference, it sets the tone and gets the reader in the right mind-set.

Lastly there were a large amount of grammar and consistency errors, which really should have been picked up by the editing / beta teams at an earlier stage, for me this did detract from the story. On occasions I would read something and then feel as though I had missed something and have to go back and re-read it, and when you are reading a story that focuses a lot on the past it did get rather confusing. I would have much preferred to see this book written in the present with flashbacks to the important parts of this couples past; for me that would have worked better for this type of story.

All that being said, this author has some great story ideas and I wish her luck with the rest of this series.

I have been dying to read Doc and Ember's story ever since I read the first 3 in this series. I knew it was going to be a doozy but I was not prepared for how my emotions were going to be put through the wringer with this one. I mean the first 3 really did a number on me but considering how much this young girl had already gone through in life and still not give up astounds me. I read this for two reasons 1. I loved the first three and 2. out of curiosity. I mean you have no idea how much I LOVED the first three but I can honestly say that this book really got me. I started this one night when I couldn't get to sleep and needless to say I didn't get to bed until it was over. I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN!!!

Doc came off as someone who had good advice but he had a scary side. He didn't care if he lived or died and put himself into situations where he could take his anger out on things/people. When he hit boiling point he does and says things that are hurtful. He's not the type to hurt a female but watch out if your male and get on his bad side. Ember on the other hand is a young girl who left home at a young age and got involved with a mean and violent man that really hurt Ember. She met Doc then and after leaving him she sees him at his club. They talk and their relationship flourishes from there. That is until her past comes barging into her life and ruins everything. Will Doc let Ember explain what happened? Will Doc forgive Ember? Will they be able to find their happy ending or has too much pain and mistakes got in the way?

GM Scherbert has quickly jumped to my all time favorite authors. She has showed great talent with each book and you can see it growing. This series is dark, gritty and will take you on a dark twisted emotional ride. Keep up the great work!
