The Grace Factor: Opening the Door to Infinite Love

Rate this book
While you have been told about the many factors determining why you can t have what you want, the one factor that outweighs them all has been sorely overlooked and even the grace factor. In this bold progression of liberating essays, Alan Cohen brings to center stage the truth that you deserve far more than you have been settling for. Rather than hardship, you are heir to boundless love, forgiveness, prosperity, and healing. Alan s down-to-earth approach offers a wealth of compelling practical examples of how grace is trying to reach you and most important how to let it work on your behalf. Open now to receive what has been offered you. The good that has seemed beyond your reach is now yours for the asking.

I started reading this book when I was feeling low, desperate and discouraged. I am relocating to another country, and it is my first experience on this subject. I was overwhelmed and scared about the huge decision I had made and was already in action. This book taught me how the grace is always present, how I needed to do my best and relax, trust in providence hands. The surrender prayer still helps me when I forget the content of this book, which is:

Surrender, __________(Feel your name). Surrender to the love that wants to care for you in ways you cannot care for yourself. Surrender to people and forces that truly want to help you. Surrender to the worthiness you already own. Then, precisely at the moment you give up complaining about being hungry and you recognize the vast sustenance in and around you, a fig from nowhere will touch your lips and you will be fed. I highly recommend if you are feeling unworthy, lost, scared, guilty, shame, helpless, or in other dark feelings.

Balm to the soul. Author appears to be open minded and accepting. There are mentions of the bible and is somewhat approaches life from Christian perspective but did not find that intrusive/non-inclusive or preaching (despite being a non believer). Think the author goes beyond dogmatic teachings and speaks from a place of kindness.

I first heard Alan Cohen speak at Soulapaloozain Carlsbad, California in early November 2019. I'm forever grateful to Mike Dooley for all the wisdom and grace he's brought to my life and learning, and now for bringing Alan Cohen's wisdom to Soula; for me and everyone else who participated. After hearing him speak twice over the course of the gathering, I picked up a couple of his books; this being the first one. Early on, here's a quote that encapsulates the gift of this book: "Even while the world is steeped in laws that bind human beings into ever smaller dungeouns, Grace shines through the slightest crack offered it. Kindness melts the wall of loneliness, and separateness is suspended in the presence of love. No illusion is so thick that charity cannot dissolve it."

Amen. This book is a gift. I encourage you to treat yourself.

love never fails

I truly love all the books by Alan Cohen. They are so simple but at the same time life-changing. Imagine where the world would be like if we all just came from love and kindness and realize there’s nothing absolutely nothing to fear about death because we never die. Thank you for such a great book.

I find Alan Cohen always brings fresh insight and inspiration in all his talks, books, etc, and this is no exception. A gentle yet potent reminder that grace is ours here and now. Well worth reading.
