What the what? Where’s the pay off?
This story was okay. I was okay with the old they’re secretly on the same side trope. I was even okay with the my whole family hates the man I secretly love but, won’t tell me why cause its a secret scandal storyline. What Im not okay with is the lack of resolution. If the cousins death was so important as to fuel animosity for 2\3 of the book why didn’t anyone confront the twit that actually drugged him? Why introduce the brother Eddie and add some over dramatic sibling anger and resentment issues with no pay off? Who they hell stole all of those people !!!??? Why kidnap a bunch of miss-able folks? I know its a series but can you throw in some sort of speculation so that I can have a semblance of a resolution?

Together they make a perfect match as they investigate the missing Shifters, nothing is as easy as it seems and it will take both of them to solve the mystery and right the wrongs. And they're great doing it.

I haven't read a good shifter story for a while, and I picked up this book, and now I'm hooked and want more. Vincent returns to his home after years of being away, and the first person he meets is his mate, and he knows it. From there on, he is always trying to keep her out of danger, and she insists on getting in danger. The book is good. But I feel like I'm still missing part of the story, and I'm guessing it because I started with this book, not the first in the series. Even so, it was a great book to read.

WOW THE BEST TRUE MATE STORY
I stated reading Defender: Reckless Desires ...at first I thought that this wasn't going to be any good at all ! But as I read it and got into found I couldn't put this book down ! Love that Vin chose his friends cousin. And how it played out that he really didn't kill his best friend as he had believed. It kept me guessing and hoping he wouldnt give up on his true mate can't wait for the next book !!

Awesome shifter romance
I loved reading con's story,as he was the Quiet One in the first and second book. He had to go home to find missing shifters and found his true mate Grace. She was human related to shifters and I loved how her character was written to be strong but still need vin. This book os filled with suspense and drama. I would of liked for the author to fix his family problem...other then that I loved the the hea ending

Wow
OMG...this story was great. I fell in love with the characters. There love story was so cute the way it felt forced by a ceremony but was true mate love. I also really liked the added part of following the mystery mission that brought them together. I may have to continue with the series.

I don't know how to describe this one. Vin being part of the aristocrats in England and a shifter. I loved how everything flowed together. Grace, being a human, living in a shifter household because her parents died. Grace trying to find out what happened to her friend that came from America to visit her. It had suspense that I wasn't expecting.

I enjoyed this story, though I did find myself skipping in places because honestly there was a lot of blah blah and I just wanted to get to the point where all the threads start coming together. Not sure why though.

Mystery, shifters, romance and good writing makes this a good read! Enjoyed the strong hero (Vin), strong heroine (Grace) and Freddie the most. Enjoyable story. (Book 3 in series reads as a standalone. Haven't read other books yet). 3 1/2 stars.

A little old fashioned at times with arranged marriages. They really don't have a place in today's society but the author made it work. I feel sorry for those that ended us as mates that didn't really love each other and planned to see other people but I suppose if it works for them, then whatever.
The book was good in the special operative investigates crime and solves a mystery and saves the day kind of way.

I thought Book 1 and 2 were good, OMG check out book 3. These undercover detectives are just steamy hot. So hot I want one, yes I'm ready, willing and able with lots of lipstick he can kiss off. Ms. Olivia has turned this protector series into an awesome read, yes, I recommend this Must Read Book and Series.
Vin aka Vincent Charles Brownstone III, loved everything in America, he didn't want to leave not even for an assignment from his company F.U.R. in the division of Sunclaw Freelance Undercover Resolutions, Vin also did work for the American Shifter Council. Going back to London-Belgravia and facing his father who sat on a seat of the British Shifter Council was something he didn't relish. Always in his father's eyes he was no good and Vin had to play this part good, no one could know he was undercover, to make matters worse the British Shifter Council was changing the rules having a gala and mandatory mating.. Guess who was first?
Grace lost her parents early in life, consequently she lived with her Aunt Caroline and Uncle Sidney. Knowing Grace was born human her parents taught her at an early age to protect herself using Aikido and she did. When Vin finds out that some old friends and a family member could be involved, he has no choice but to infiltrate his old group by joining them. Thats where he sees his true mate, slap bang in the middle of the mess. A human woman who feels nothing but contempt for the group. Nobody knows but Grace is responsible for him been there to find out what happened to the missing shifters, and his inside 'man'. Grace is living with her aunt (human) and uncle (wolf-shifter) in England since her parents died in America. Her cousin, their son Sin died years earlier. Her uncle states even though she is human, she is living in a shifter society and it is time she is mated and requires her to attend a party where the heir of each pack is to be “matched” with a possible mate.

This story outlines a pack system which includes an “inner circle”, a multitude of missing shifters, and a decline in pack society which has them revert to “matching” couples rather than waiting for fated mates. As a reader we end up knowing what both Vin and Grace know – before the other characters do – which creates an anticipation adding greatly to the enjoyment of this story. A sizzling story of fated mates, kidnapping, danger and intrigue.

Wolf-shifter Vincent Charles Brownstone II (Vin) is back in England working for Freelance Undercover Resolutions (FUR). He bumps into an American beauty while visiting his liaison Astrid to pick up a letter explaining his mission. Grace is living with her aunt (human) and uncle (wolf-shifter) in England since her parents died in America. Her cousin, their son Sin died years earlier. Her uncle states even though she is human, she is living in a shifter society and it is time she is mated and requires her to attend a party where the heir of each pack is to be “matched” with a possible mate.

Vin, a wolf shifter, is from a wealthy English family and had done nothing with his life but hang around with his other wealthy friends, drinking, womanizing, and wasting money. After the unusual death of his friend Sid, he runs away to America, finds himself, and ends up working as an undercover investigator for a shifter organization trying to help other shifters. He is sent back to England to find 4 missing shifters. Because some of his old friends, and possibly a relative, could be suspects, Vin must pretend to rejoin his old gang. He meets Grace, a human, who has no love or respect for his group. What they don't know is that it is Grace who called his boss for help findind the missing shifters, and is responsible for him being assigned this case. These two are immediately attracted to each other, and Vin realizes she is his mate, but she is fighting the attraction, and is trying to focus all her time on locating the missing people. Vin and Grace must trust each other and stop keeping secrets. It is crucial that they start working together. Grace is tied to Vin's friend who died, and secrets about his death are revealed. Vin wants to keep her safe, but she is stronger than she looks. I loved how strong Grace is and was constantly surprising everyone. She can take care of herself, as she has had martial arts training no one knows about. This story keeps you guessing, and not until the end do we find out who abducted the shifters, and why.
