I rated this lower primarily due to the editing. All of the content was present and easy to read. The problem I have with this is you note instead of reading this in a year it took me a year and a half and here is why. It is described as a Catholic edition however it is truly not. The Catholic Bible includes the deuterocanonical books, 7 texts excluded from the Protestant Bible because of Martin Luther and publishers reducing the size. So the arrangement is a reading from an Old Testament book, psalms and New Testament. It was only when I was halfway through the year that I discovered that psalms repeated. Why would psalms repeat? Because this was a Protestant edition with the 7 extra books of the Catholic Bible appended on at the end, so to read it correctly you would have to flip to the index of the back each day to finish your reading. Why they did not simply replace the repetition of psalms with the rest of the books or attach them every day in the main text can only mean they created a Protestant everyday Bible and attached the 7 remaining books as an after thought not even re-editing it for the Catholic edition. So instead of repeating psalms I started in the index and because it's arranged by date it was two confusing to flip between 3 different places the reading went into the next year and ended at the repetition of psalms. So for half a year I read half of the 7 remaining texts creating a much shorter read.

I really liked reading the Bible in this daily format. There was a bit from the Old Testament, the New Testament, Psalms and Proverbs each day. It made it more manageable for me to be able to commit to finishing it. What seemed to me to be a formidable task at the beginning of the year became something I looked forward to each day.

Took me a year... well worth it to read the entire Bible, not just the sound bites, and absorb the context. Some books are very challenging and surprising, some a little dull, mired in their time frame. Others are sublime and so relevant to today.
