Eve Winchester is focused on turning her family's real estate company into a worldwide player, but finds that her life has been complicated by an unexpected pregnancy. The father is Graham Newport, and the Newport family and the Winchester family are major enemies! Eve's father Sutton had an affair with Graham's mother, which produced his half brother Carson, but Carson was kept a secret from Sutton. Now the cat is out of the bag, and lawyer Graham is helping his half brother get his share of the Winchester fortune, since Sutton is on his deathbed. Obviously, this places all sorts of complications on Eve and Graham ever successfully being a couple!

For the first third, I wasn't too impressed by Eve and Graham's relationship! It seemed far too toxic! At one point, she slaps him! I don't approve of violence in a relationship. Men shouldn't hit women, and women shouldn't hit men. It's as simple as that! Then we had Graham essentially ghosting Eve after she tells him he's the father of her baby. However, I eventually warmed up to them both.

I liked the subplots, such as Graham and Brooks wanting to find out the identify of their father, and Carson seeking legal action to get a part of Sutton's fortune. Unfortunately, as it's part of a mini-series, those side plots don't get resolved, and I can't say I was a huge enough fan of this story to go and seek out any others.

This has the pretty standard trope of the hero being adamant to the point of obsession that his baby have his surname and be raised only by him, and that a marriage of convenience is the way to do this. Do men really think that way? Most men I know go by the attitude that the most important thing is that you love your child and do whatever you can to make them happy! It's a trope I've never understood in this genre. Nevertheless, Eve actually calls Graham out on this, actually calls his attitude archaic, so that pleased me. Our heroine at least acted like she was living in 2016 (when this was published), even if our hero didn't.

Overall, I enjoyed it! I like that the Desire line has a bit of external drama to go along with the romance.

Philandering husbands and suffering wives seem to form ugly backdrops to a lot of romance novels. So far, I’ve encountered the Beaumont bastards, the Fortunes of Texas (with Gerald Robinson having been revealed as Jerome Fortune and sporting at least two illegitimate children at the time of my reading) and now we have the feuding Winchesters and Newports.

It seems that one of the Newports isn’t a Newport at all. He’s actually Sutton Winchester’s son, due to an affair Sutton had with Cynthia, née Amy Jo Turner, Eve Winchester’s mother. It turns out that Sutton may have had more than his share of brats bearing the bar sinister.

Aren’t familial relations great? Nothing says kinship and romance like cheating dads and bastard kids.

Of course, the husbands with the wandering phalluses are usually loaded and mighty, having empires that must be sorted out among the various offspring, legitimate and otherwise. It’s supposed to lead to legal entanglements, heady drama and forbidden sex. I find that it simply sours me on the whole subject of romance.

But this novel starts off without much romance. Oh, there’s heated sex between the sheets, that’s for certain. It’s all the hotter for taking place between two people who are sworn rivals in a legal battle, Eve Winchester and Graham Newport.

Eve Winchester thinks Graham is super sexy and he’s never had relationships this steamy with a woman. That’s pretty much his entire relationship with her and Eve is fine with that. Their obsession with sex takes up much of the novel and page after page dwells on how hot he gets her with just a look and how much time he fantasizes about how soon he can be with her, getting her naked and the things he wants to do to her body.

They have a lot of chemistry (but so does gasoline and a blowtorch). It wasn’t enough to keep me from being irritated with their sexual romps at every opportunity. She’s just so weak. Whenever he touches her, she swoons and can’t fight him off the way she wants. He, of course, is your typical alpha male, barging in and ignoring butlers, secretaries or lack of invitation. This domineering attitude is supposed to be sexy. To whom, exactly? Can you say “restraining order”?

When Graham finally does hold off on the physicality, I still didn’t warm to him and that was because of his unspoken designs. He wants to marry Eve—not because he can admit to caring for her but because he wants to get hold of her baby. He thinks of it as being his; he thinks of HER as being his and the proprietary nature of his thoughts made me quiver with disgust.

He has this silly, archaic notion of putting his claim on her body and this child as if they were cattle to be branded. This patriarchal idea was infuriating and made no sense. It turns out his half-brother Carson Newport is actually a Winchester. Should he therefore change his last name to Winchester? No mention is made of that. But Graham expects both Eve and her unborn child to bear the name Newport.

What sort of antediluvian, chauvinistic nonsense is this?! Why should a woman change her father’s last name for her husband’s unless her husband is the pope, premier or president? Eve doesn’t make quite the same arguments when she discovers Graham’s ulterior motive but her rejection makes her feelings very understandable.

But there may be an underlying reason to Graham’s urge to make his baby respectable. Whenever he talks or thinks of Eve’s cheating father, he calls him a “bastard”. That word comes up ad nauseam, to the point where you wonder if Graham has a real problem with illegitimacy. If such is the case, then he doesn’t really care for his half-brother as much as he seems.

No, Graham is no prize no matter how good he is in the courtroom or how smoldering he is between the sheets. He’s just your typical arrogant, entitled jerk with too much money who thinks he can have whatever he wants just because he’s always won his case. Keep the kid and your last name and boot this guy to the door.

Another book in the dynasties : The Newports and and excellent one. Eve Winchester is taking over her fathers Chicago real estate company as he is very ill. Graham Newport is having an affair with Eve, so simple right. Not because there is a family feud that involves Graham and his brothers as they are trying to find out who their father is. Her grandfather knows but won't tell and so begins the games of how can they be together, more complicated...she gets pregnant. A great read don't miss it.

Too short

My only complaint about the Harlequin books is that they are never long enough. There is so much more to Eve and Graham's story but it ended way too soon. There's definitely passion between them but there didn't seem to be time to really develop anything more.

Good book. From the first book in the series to this one, the attraction between Eve and Graham has been obvious. The problem is that their two families have been enemies for years, making a relationship between them difficult. Graham is a lawyer who is excellent at what he does. He also has no desire for any kind of permanent relationships in his life, though mutually satisfying affairs are just fine with him. Eve is a driven businesswoman who has taken over her dying father's real estate empire. She is smart, beautiful and focused on her career. A relationship with Graham is not a smart thing on her part.

Whatever it is that is burning between them can't be denied, and they give in to the heat. Because of their families' enmity, both have been warned to stay away from each other, but they can't do it. The moments they steal together are hot, passionate, and never enough. Keeping their secret is vital, but fate has other plans. Eve ends up pregnant and they have to make some decisions.

I loved the progress of their relationship. Though Graham is shocked at her news, he knows that he wants to be an involved father. I loved how protective he gets, and how his attitude changes from thinking of it as an affair. He finds himself thinking of something more, which freaks him out because he has never considered that with anyone else. He's still resisting the idea that he's in love with her, but knows he wants to marry her. He convinces himself that it is for the baby. Eve is quicker to realize her feelings, but the obstacles in their way seem insurmountable. She also has worries about the pregnancy itself. When they get a chance to go away together, it doesn't go quite as either had hoped. I ached for them both as they dealt with what happened. I loved Graham's big moment at the end, as he put everything on the line for her.

The family drama is still there, as Graham and Brooks try to find out the truth about their father. I liked the relationship between the two of them, as they support each other in the search. There's also tension as Graham's relationship with Eve becomes more obvious. I also liked the changes I'm seeing in Eve's father, as he appears to be making an effort to repair his relationship with his daughters. His reaction to Graham's appearance at the end was a surprise.

His Secret Baby Bombshell by Jules Bennett is a sexy story of a hidden romance.

Eve Winchester has taken over the family’s business as her beloved father is gravely ill. She has been having a secret affair with her companies main rival, Graham Newport. All this running around adds a spark to an already hot chemistry. Eve’s world is turned upside down when this no strings relationship ends up with unexpected pregnancy. Eve wants this baby and is unsure how Graham will react.

Graham Newport is a hotshot lawyer. Besides his own practice he is the corporate lawyer for the families business. His secret affair with Eve fits perfect into his busy life. When Eve turns up pregnant his orderly life is set into a spiral.

When Graham offers marriage without the mention of love, Eve is devastated. Can Graham come to his senses and realize he loves Eve before its too late?

His Secret Baby Bombshell is a wonderful addition to the Dynasties: The Newports. I enjoyed it so much I am reading the other books in the series now. Jules Bennett got me intrigued by these two strong families I had to find out the rest of the stories.

I loved the story of Eve and Graham being unfolded. I read the first book of the series and it was mentioned that Eve and Graham were attracted to each other in a rather stand-offish way. And now the story unfolded. I loved how Ms Bennett describes the characters and to me the characters came to life. The big secret between the families is still a secret and remains a secret. All in all, I loved the story, admired the way Eve and Graham were written into life. I want to discover more about the Winchesters and the Newports now.
Eve Winchester is a driven businesswoman and she has big plans to take her father’s real estate empire global. She has a smouldering secret affair with Graham Newport, son of the Newport family which is also her nemesis in business. Then she discovers she is pregnant. Graham Newport has never had such a heated secret fling, and he feels the feelings are not going to subside soon. But suddenly Eve is pregnant and their feelings towards each other become stronger and stronger. The bond between the families however is still very strained.

Had the pleasure of reading this book in exchange for an honest review ! I couldn't get through this book fast enough!! I LOVE the pregnancy stories especially when both characters are high power exces but factor in the rivalry between families .... Then you get a great story !! Eve & Graham were interesting to watch & see how their secret relationship & pregnancy would factor into their daily life. Their spontaneous hook ups & banter were refreshing to indulge in. Jules does an amazing job AS USUAL capturing the little details like : pregnancy side effects , brotherly loyalty & down time & basic family values that factor into making an authentic continuing family rivalry series!! Love her writing ! Another great one here & I can't wait for the next one!

His Secret Baby Bombshell is Jules Bennett’s contribution to Harlequin Desire’s Dynasties: The Newports Series. I loved this book from the outset. I read it in one sitting and couldn’t put it down. Put a highly driven Eve Winchester and Graham Newport together and sparks immediately begin to fly. Add in a family feud, a pregnancy and, of course, a family secret and His Secret Baby Bombshell is definitely a must read. I highly recommend His Secret Baby Bombshell. I’d like to disclose that I received a copy in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I really liked this story. The secret affair was an interesting twist with the feuding families. Throw the surprise pregnancy in and it made this story an even better read. I loved how Graham stepped up and how Eve stood by her father.
I would definitely recommend this book.

I was anxious to read this book since it had such a high rating on Goodreads. It was a good read but I didn't quite think it was worth the 4.42 stars rating, but for a Harlequin it was good with a great outcome. I would encourage you to read the series 'Dynasties: The Newports' in order. This is book four and I was a little lost not knowing the other characters and what was going on with each of them.

Graham Newport is a force to be reckoned with in the court room. At just 32 yrs old he is already at the top of his field. He is a handsome man who has no desire for relationships, marriage or children. Affairs he can handle. When he lays eyes on Eve Winchester, a beautiful driven woman who has plans to take her dying father's company global, he is attracted to her like nothing he has ever experienced .

These two are so drawn to each other you can see the sparks arcing from across the room. But there is a potential hazard. They may turn out to be half siblings. When the paternity tests finally confirm there is no biological connection all bets are off. Their families have been at war for many years and this feud is spread family-wide with each member expected and required to take part in the ongoing battle. The Hatfields and McCoys look like loving neighbors compared to these two families. But Graham and Eve are a perfect fit...at least in the bedroom, family room, kitchen counter, shower, chair, sofa...you get the picture, right? Yep, I'll take me an order of that. On second thought make it a double.

The is the hottest affair either of them has ever had and they don't want it to end anytime soon but, again, neither one is looking for more than a fling...until a pregnancy test comes up positive. (YIPPEE~~my favorite romance trope;) They were not irresponsible. They both had a clean bill of health which they discussed and Eve was on the pill. Her doctor had changed her prescription but she had not missed a pill. It was the change in meds that caused the problems. I did a little research of my own and it states if you switch prescriptions you should start the new pill the day after you finish your packet. Do not wait the seven days to begin and there is only a minute chance that you can conceive.

When Graham first found out he was taken aback and asked if she did it on purpose. That didn't go over too well. But he told her he was going to be a father to his child, that no other man would ever raise him or her. Graham grew up without a father and he knew the importance of being a constant in his child's life. If he had his way he would control everything but he end up losing Eve.

In my humble opinion this is the time for you to begin to know your child's other parent. Spend time together doing more than just intimate activities. Talk about goals, how you want to parent etc. This is what our hero thought as well and he was great to her. But our Eve had different ideas like time apart, no intimacy, so instead she tried to pull away with distance and lack of physical contact while he was trying to reel her in.

I highly recommend this book and the complete series.

Eve and Graham are like oil and water. They are both Type A, fighters, confident, caring, and very stubborn.
The war between their families is volatile and could have destroyed them and their love.
Desperation to find Graham’s and his brother’s biological father is an obsession that is a thorn in their heart and thinking. Hopefully it does not destroy them.
A baby is a wonderful creation. Hopefully this one will bring peace to these two families

The hero ruined the book for me. With his unjustified hatred for the heroine's father, his behaviour and thinking. I can get why he'd be angry at her father for not revealing the hero's father's identity but the one who was to blame was his mother. Overall the hero and the heroine's love story didn't feel like one

I normally give Jules Bennett’s books a 4-star rating. I can’t go that high on this one. It is a solid 3-star story. It is short. There is nothing out of the ordinary or outstanding in this story. There is no twist to surprise you. Think of a modern-day Romeo and Juliet story without the deaths.

Wow!!!! You can't help but love the alpha men Jules Bennett brings to life and Graham is no exception.

This is book 4 of the Dynasties: The Newports

I haven't read the entire series and I was worried when I started this one that I would be a little lost, but Jules never disappoints in making sure you are caught up on the history to enjoy her stories.

Eve Winchester and Graham Newport should not want each other, have been warned from their families to stay away from each other, but the sparks are there and they can't deny it to each other any longer. Keeping their affair a secret from their family until uh oh six weeks into the affair two lines pop up on a pregnancy test. Now the question is how do you tell your families that hate each other, your families are about to become one big happy family?

Eve wanted nothing more than to turn her father's company into a global empire but now all she wants is a healthy baby that will be accepted by her father and sisters as well as Graham's brothers that hate her father.

Graham was looking for a no strings attached affair, and he just couldn't stay away from Eve. Now knowing that he is going to be a father he wants to be there for his child. Being raised without a father, Graham knows the best way to do that is to marry Eve and raise his child as a Newport.

Marriage will not come easy for these two. The families will not stand for it. Can they put the differences of their families aside for their own happiness? Can this child bring the families together and end this feud?

You will root for Eve and Graham to get their HEA.

I mean where can you go wrong? You've got secret relationships, secret babies, feuding families what else could be better in one of Mrs. Bennett's books? Well of course you could add in some high paced action, but these is not the kind of book to add some action scenes into (sorry had to add that in there!!!! LOL).... Anyways I couldn't wait to dive into this book when I got it. Even though this book is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone. Mrs. Bennett does a wonderful job of weaving the story and backstories of character's into the book so you can understand what's going on without having to go back and read the other's, or wondering what's going on.

These two character's Eve and Graham are probably the two most unlikely character's to get together. They both aren't looking for any long term or strings attached relationships. Especially with the way their families have been feuding. But Eve and Graham have an attraction to each other that neither one of them can deny.

I thought this book was really enjoyable and was lighthearted. I loved the banter between Eve and Graham at times. I also loved the relationship that Eve had with her sister's and Graham had with his brothers. Mrs. Bennett has always been one of my go-to authors and has written another hit with this book.

I'm giving this book 4.5 Stars out of 5!!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed His Secret Baby Bombshell by Jules Bennett. It is a quick, fast-paced story where two people—polar opposites of each other—connect and unite for the sake of a baby. This story has plenty conflict and drama to keep you rifling through the pages and sizzling chemistry to validate the relationship between Graham and Eve.

I wasn't particularly taken by Graham at first. Honestly, I did not like him at all. He came off as pompous but as I continued reading I discovered the reason for him to act the way he does. Eventually I started to like him. Eve on the other hand is a...firecracker of a woman. She stands up to Graham regardless of his pigheadedness. And even though they are enemies, the sizzling chemistry between them is undeniable.

Overall, ‘His Secret Baby Bombshell’ is an enjoyable story with a worthwhile ending. So if you're looking to escape from a hectic day then this is the perfect book to cozy up with!

I have not read the previous books in this series and that caused a bit of confusion for me at the beginning of this book. It took a bit to get into it once i figured out who everyone was. Eve and Graham are having a affair. Only problem is their families are huge rivals. There is some bad blood between the families but Eve and Graham can't seem to tamp out their attraction for each other. I loved watching Graham fall for Eve. He doesn't see what's going on and is almost too late to save things when he eventually screws things up. For whatever reason i really love Graham and Eve. I felt for Eve and her predicament. There are plenty of interesting secondary characters that play into this series as well and it's fun to find out little by little who they are as well. Left me wishing i had read the previous books in this series.

I am a fan of Jules because she is great at family and small town stories. It never fails to get you connected with her characters and pulls you in so the outcome of the story actually matters to you. Graham and Eve are not going to have an easy time in this relationship...but wait, they didn't really want one! The sparks they created couldn't be resisted so they let it take them where it naturally led...yes, in BED...or wherever was handy? Falling in love, not part of the plan, a baby, never entered their minds. They have enough on their plates trying to sneak around being together without the families finding out. Some HEA come easy, see how Graham and Eve find theirs
