Behind the Scenes is book 0 but read after Moniz book 9.
Axe: The Ultimate Sacrifice
Before Ben James and Steve Knight, as President and VP, there was Wall and Axe. Wall worked to get out of the flesh trade and drugs. Axe was the soldier that could make it happen. They pay the ultimate price to put the man with the vision in power. See how a young Tiny, Knight and Ben shield the kid that was found eating out of the dumpster.
The Ultimate Sacrifice shows us how it all started.

Patches List
Not having a family of his own he watched from a far to see what “Normal” was. He learned from other’s actions what worked and what didn’t. He watched how people treated each other, how men treated women, and how the women responded to those actions. This is just a small part of what he learned.
Barbi Barnard

L. Ann started with the Baxters and followed that with multiple series and genres. While her books feature paranormal, FBI, ex-military and Badass Bikers, L. Ann is writing about the strong women that these men need in their life to help right the world's wrongs and keep their small part of the world safe. The women are extraordinary, strong and determined to make a difference.
The men fight for right in every book. Yes, they kill people. Yes, the MC shoots at the bad guys’ feet to cause them pain. Yes, some throw tampons at each other regularly.
That being said, they do these things while stopping human trafficking and experimentation, bringing their world into legitimate businesses, fighting gangs to keep drugs away from their town and kids, keep women sheltered safely while trying to stop domestic abuse. These are men that don’t leave a pack, Team member or Brother behind. They don’t treat women as possessions and they don’t cheat. Respect takes on an honorable meaning. Women and kids are cherished. Everyone is looked out for and everyone is equal.
L. Ann has made amazing worlds, tackled the taboo subjects and made it easy to imagine living in a world where your protection comes from the vampires, shifters, freaky kids, albinos and orientals, military turned FBI and some Badass Bikers.
With readers writing about rereading the series over and over, she feels like she’s told her characters’ stories in a way that would make them proud.
Every book will make you laugh, every book will make you angry for the wrong that happens in the world. Every book will make you cry for the pain that a character feels. Every book gives you hope that we may just get it right yet

Enjoyed getting the Axe history lesson and Patches' list -- both help us to understand the brotherhood mindset a bit more, especially as it relates to taking care of their women and not selling drugs. The third part helped also because so many kids still haven't settled into their place in my brain. I guess I am going to need something like a family tree soon to help or I am going to get gravely lost as the young brotherhood becomes the center of the series.

Gteat Companion

This is a companion to the MC series, you need to read the MC series first
There are three short stories. Loved them all!

The firs is Axe's and how the current MC got it's start. The story is told from Axe's pov. Wall, the former Pres of the club was a seer. He used his visions to set the foundation to make the MC what it is today. He sent a young Ben "JJ" James to college, grooming him to be the next Pres. He sent Steve Knight, Ben's best friend, to the military, grooming him to be the VP. Tiny Callahan, he fostered as their protector. A very young Tom "Gerk" Moniz the tools he needed to become the computer genius he has become. Axe was his right hand. Training, supporting, and a father to these young men. His own son, Danny, only new him as Axe. The man who took on the roll of father when he came out of care. Who trained and encouraged him. When Danny had to choose his son over the MCs, Axe and the Pres gave their blessing and continued to support him. Encouraged him to go to college, and being a great dad. Loved seeing how Danny became the MCs Jack of all trades. Rich is just like his dad. Loved this little look back.

The second story is not really a story, it's Patches letters to the brothers on how to keep your old ladies happy and yours. There should be a printable version so every women can give her man a copy. Patches knows his stuff!

The last story is Little Ben's and the tattoo to cover the scar on his back. A time of healing for not just him but for Jessie and Ricky, who he protected. Great story. Love the men they have become.

Amazing story

L Ann Marie is one if my favorite author's. Her writing flows and each story gets better. Little Ben is my favorite so far, not saying that I don't love the just as much. She will have you laughing and crying the whole time. I love when it's emotional. I can't wait for the next in the series.
I highly recommend this book and their bada** bikers!!!!

What a unique view!

I absolutely loved this book! Patches list! It was great. I won't lie, I cried when Wall and Ace did die...it sucks that they knew but better that they could prepare. I loved how Little Ben's tattoo not only healed his scars in his mind but it helped to heal those around him. What a wonderful story!

I first started by reading MC: Knight and then realised that I wanted the whole story and that started with the Baxter's .. although the first books didn't have a lot of crossovers they did set the scene for what is to come in the other books as the stories move along so their importance to the series' as a whole cannot be overstated

I have just read the 22 books to date back to back in the order published on the author's website and decided to review them as a whole. I really don't think they stand well as stand alones as there are too many common threads, too much history and too much character crossover for that so it really is one (very) long story over a very long period of time with each series concentrating on a particular character group but including all of the others (except for the initial Baxter books which didn't have a lot of MC action but did set the scene for a lot of what is to come).

I loved every book although of course some more than others but i am giving an overall five star rating. My biggest issue was that sometimes (often) i found it difficult to be sure exactly who was talking and had to reread sections to try to work it out. I think that perhaps what the author is seeing in her head moves a bit too fast to translate well to the written word for some of us (something like the thoughts of some of her characters - you need to read the stories to understand my thought process here!!)

My other issue was keeping my head straight with the cast of thousands (and this is not an exaggeration) ... with each story building on to what has come before and what will come to be and with most characters continuing to play a place in each consecutive story I found myself constantly stopping to think - now who was that, whose child is that, whose partner is that???? but even amongst that confusion I loved the relationships and the strengths they provided.

The author has an amazing imagination and has brought to the table a fantastic story that i will continue to read and at some point will def read again. I have always loved and had an interest in native american philosophy and also in paranormal and psychic connections and love the way these are ingrained into the books as the stories unfold.

Although there were some things that caused me slight annoyances I cannot deny that as a whole this fits as one of the best series i have enjoyed. my thanks to the author for providing such a thoroughly engaging tale

So good! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

3 short stories to this book.

Story one (my fave!) is from Axe's PoV in the last year or 2 of his life, where we see younger version's of Knight (VP), JJ/Ben (Pres), Tiny, a very young 16 year old Geek, and Danny (who is Axe's son).

I really liked Axe!!...and this story gives you major feels, what with him reconnecting with his son Danny but unable to inform him of the fact he is his dad....and meeting his little grandson Rich....he's a good bloke who tries to do right by Danny before he knows his time is up.

He has tight bonds with all the brothers Tiny, Pres, VP, Geek, Danny....and it's lovely to see the bond they share!

Story 2 is patches list, well his various lists that he emails all bothers getting old ladies....it's just what u expect it to say....and tbh it's something that all men should be given and read....it'd make for a lot of happy marriages LOL.

Story 3 has PoV's from Little Ben, Jessie and Darren from around the time Ben gets his scars covered on his back with his tattoo.

This author for me is one of my faves and I feel has always gone into great detail with the books!!
It's nice to see so much into their lives...not the normal MC book where it's boy meets girl, someone threatens girl, kill the threat, than end of book n they presumably live happily ever after....with these books we get to witness a lot of the happily ever after the day to day and a lot more into their lives as they've all grown n had kids...as well as them kids who are now full grown n having kids! So now doing these little back stories etc is wonderful....any kind of back story to a series I love...it's a big thumbs up for me!!

"Behind the Scenes: MC Series Book 0" by L. Ann Marie is a great read. This is three short stories. The first gives us a backstory of the MC. The second gives us a glimpse of what is on Patches famous lists. The third tells us the story of Little Ben's tattoo and how they help heal not just LB, but the Brothers as well.

"Axe: The Ultimate Sacrifice" (Prologue to: The MC Series) by L. Ann Marie is a great read. This gives us the backstory of the MC. I enjoyed seeing Pres, Knight, Danny, Tiny, Geek, and Rich in their younger days. It was nice getting to know Axe and Wall and see how they started the changes that leads to the future MC we've all enjoyed reading.

"Patches List: An answered question for the MC Series" is a great read. I loved getting a peek at what's on Patches lists. Every woman will wish the man in her life had Patches list!

"More Than Ink: Healing and growing: MC Series" It was great getting the story of LB 'Prez's' tattoo. I loved reading more about the little Brothers and this story filled in some things I've wondered about.

This story has strong bonds, brotherhood, family, loyalty, action, and more. Highly recommend to all fans of MC stories.

This book contains three different parts.
One....The beginning of the Badass Mc. The vision of the original Pres and Axe..Danny's father, Altho he doesn't know this until later. It explains how the club came to be what we know it to be today. The struggles and tribulations they went through to leave a legacy worth fighting for. Will make you cry and cheer too. Awesome story. This author is a genius.
Two...Patches lists...Absolutely awesome. You have to read them just to understand his insights.
Three...LB's ink....the coming to terms of people's Inhumanity and how torise above and come out stronger. Tear jerker for sure.

BOOK I: Axe: The Ultimate Sacrifice Prologue to: The MC Series

Wall "Pres"- Pres of the original MC, is a seer

Knight - joined original MC, was sent to the military for training and came back to become the VP of the cleaned up MC

Jargon "JJ" James -

Tiny - Sgt at Arms of the MC

Axe - VP of the original MC, Danny's father

Petey - member of original and clean MC

Road - member of original MC

Box - member of original MC

Danny LaPonte - joins the old MC when they are in the midst of a drug war

--------------
This book tells how the MC got out of the drug and flesh trade by training Ben and Knight to take Wall and Axe's jobs when the clean club vision is realized.

Axe finds out that Wall knows LaPonte is his son and that he has been "in care." This makes Axe mad because he let the mother have him thinking he would have a better life, which he didn't. Wall also informs Axe he is not to let LaPonte know they are father and son. Axe gets him set up in a room next to him, tells him how living a the club works and gives him $500 for clothes and where to buy them.

Danny has a son, Rich. Axe loves them both but still doesn't tell Danny he is his dad. Pres tells Axe something is coming. He wants Danny to be prepared but worries he won't be around. He stops and buys a book, ruler and colored pencils. (The ruler is for him to draw the lines to write on). He needs Danny to learn the things he has to teach him without making his mistakes.

---------------
BOOK II: Patches Lists
Always wondered what they said "exactly." Now I know.

----------
BOOK III: More the Ink - how the Little Brothers heal after seeing one of their own hurt.

Good lead in for the Princes of Prophecy.

BEHIND THE SCENES L. ANN MARIE BOOK 0 MC
This is the book that explains how the MC we know and love got started. The first story features Axe and Wall. We might Knight, Danny and little Rich, Tiny and Moniz aka Geek. I really enjoyed the story but you may need a hanky or two. More than Ink centers around the tattoo Little Ben got after his attack and all the brothers who sat with him. Both stories were touching to read and explained a lot about the MC and the Little Brothers! Patches’ lists will come in handy for some guy with no clue how to keep a woman. Highly recommended read for MC lovers.

Great connector!

This book gives us a look at the men that formed Pres, Knight, Tiny, Geek and Danny into the great men they are. We see the birth of the club that Ben runs and how they got there. Also get a peek at Patches' lists and we see how the Princes are shaping up. Awesome way to tie the two series together and answer some questions we all wanted to know.
