Sometimes, the one thing you thought you wanted more than anything turns out to be the one thing you really didn’t need...

'Betrayed' - Soldiers of Darkness Book #2...

Mack

A new town, a new start, a new Soldiers of Darkness chapter, and I’m back in charge. I’ve been given a second chance to prove I can do this, because I almost lost everything, after she messed with my head and turned me into someone I didn’t even recognize. I became someone I didn’t want to be, and I can’t let her do that again.

Things are very different now. She’s very different, now. But I still want her. God help me… But I gotta play this right, ‘cause I mess up again and there ain’t gonna be no more second chances.

I got scores to settle. And this time I don’t plan on losing…

Izzi

I never thought this would be my future – living in New Mexico, married to an outlaw biker. I never thought my life would turn the dark corner it did; that I’d become a woman capable of killing a man, but that’s what happened. I killed a man. And I had to do that, he had to die, because he tore my world apart. And it changed everything.

But I’m happy now. That dark chapter of my life, it’s over. Things are changing, I’m changing, and I think I need to. Things couldn’t stay the same. But he’s still here. And I didn’t tell him to go, because I could have done. Maybe I should have done. I love my husband, and I’m beginning to love what my life is becoming.

I don’t need Mack Slayer, not anymore…

Zeb

Staying in one place for too long, that never used to be me. But I don’t wanna go anywhere right now, and that’s because of her. Izzi. She’s my whole freakin’ world now, and I don’t intend to lose her. ‘Cause I know what he’s planning. I know why he stuck around, why he’s still here. But it ain’t gonna happen.

And, yeah, OK, I got some distractions right now, but I ain’t gonna take my eye off the ball for too long. I ain’t that stupid. I got secrets, but I’m dealing with them. And Izzi – she got secrets, too. We all got secrets, it’s just that, some secrets are way more dangerous than others…

**‘Betrayed’ contains strong language, adult themes, and very hot, sometimes very graphic sex that some readers may find uncomfortable. It is therefore suitable only for those 18+**

**No cliffhangers. The story is tied up here in book #2.**

'Bound' - Soldiers of Darkness #3 - a brand new, standalone novel, will be released late summer/early fall 2016.

About the author

Michelle Betham

Michelle Betham is an ex-media technician turned author of super-sexy romance, usually involving rock stars, DJs, movie stars, hot businessmen, and bikers. But not usually all in the same book. Yet. A proud indie author, she also has six books published through One More Chapter, a division of HarperCollins Publishers, one of which is a pyschological thriller/romantic suspense written under the pen name of ML Roberts.

Addicted to binge-watching TV shows she struggles to think of a life before Netflix or Amazon Prime, loves music - especially rock and EDM; tattoos – of which she has many; spicy food, superheroes (she's a slightly obsessed Avengers fan-girl who harbours a particularly unhealthy obsession with Captain America), and Keanu Reeves – a crush that’s lasted well over twenty years, and one she blames entirely on ‘Point Break’. The original. She refuses to acknowledge any remake exists.

Her dream is to ride a Harley, visit Las Vegas, and be able to eat any amount of chocolate without putting on weight.

She lives in County Durham, north-east England, with her husband and their West Highland Terrier, Opie - named after her favourite biker in Sons of Anarchy! She can be found, most days, at her desk drinking tea and making up stories.

After reading the Revolution trilogy by this author I had to read this two book story. You must read book 1 in this series if you want to clearly follow the story. This author does a wonderful job at writing stories filled with revenge, retribution and dysfunctional lovers. It's like watching a very good soap opera where you're engaged with the characters, liking some and hating others. There's secrets, lies, cheating and heartbreak.
The h loves two different men and usually I'm not on board with that, but somehow this author pulls me into all kinds of feelings. Some readers will get tired of the "I love him, no I love him" but it's one part that kept me hanging onto the story.
I enjoyed the drama, love and conflict this story had to offer.

I thought it was better than book one, not as “all over the place”. Still had the same editing issues as the first but not enough to take away from the story. I felt it was a little rushed there at the end…..maybe it was just me. I am glad I stuck with the series. Book two redeemed the series in my eyes. Still will keep reading books by this author. Looks like there is a smaller, standalone coming before the year is out!

I think I loved this set of books, I say think because even though I was thinking really your back and forth back and forth back and forth( not saying more than that or I'll give the game away) I couldn't put the books down.
Definitely a marmite thing, people will either love it or hate it.
