In a mob hit gone wrong, notorious gangster Nicky Vocci takes a bullet to save an innocent mother and child.
The next thing he knows, he wakes up in an auditorium with six female angels. Impressed with his dying act of sacrifice they offer him the opportunity to save his wretched soul. He must help the good angels fight the demon angels, by helping troubled humans. They send him back to earth with a new body and a new name: Daniel Peter. His mission: to save Lily Flowers. The demon angel named Insecurity is tormenting Lily, pushing her down a dark path filled with alcohol, drugs, and all the wrong men.
Daniel must help get her back on track, and convince her she is worthy of a good man namely Liam Patrick, a childhood friend of Lily’s, philanthropist, and all-around good guy. Their falling in love will save her. There is one small problem: Liam can’t stand Lily’s new lifestyle or the company she’s been keeping. For her own part, Lily thinks Liam has grown self-righteous and boring. Not to mention that if the demon angel Insecurity discovers who Daniel really is, he will destroy him.

Thomas Joseph Beck is a great writer. I enjoyed Without Wings, tremendously. Without Wings is a books that holds your attention and you never want to put down. I highly recommend this book.
Angels, Brooklyn, Boca Raton and Redemption all my favorite topics. Mr. Beck weaved a spellbinding tale that I could relate with. I am excited to read the next one.
It was a great novel to read, very original concept. Even though it is based on fiction, there are many parts of the book one can very easily relate to. In short this novel was very sophisticated, original, and extremely entertaining. The book definitely grabs you and you cannot wait to find out what happens next. I am looking forward to the next installment of novel this writer will publish and definitely recommend this book to everyone.
I read this book as I was sent it as a goodreads giveaway prize. The book centres around Nicky a notorious gangster who does not spare a thought for others, he gives his life for another and so the angels give him another chance at life in a new body as Daniel. A hard story to get your head around but it was written at a fast pace.
I've decided that I'm not finishing books I don't enjoy. I'm one of those people who needs to finish what she's started, no matter how much I'm not enjoying, but no more. This is a terrrrrrible book. I have been slogging through this book so badly. There are only 136 pages, but I'm still on 60-something, and I just can't finish. The premise is decent. It'd make a good book. This book, however, is not good. The writing is atrocious. It's ideas written on a page hurriedly after one another. I feel like I get whiplash from it. Please go back and actually write this book. It was a decent idea!
I am new to reading a book by Thomas Joseph Beck and boy did I LOVE his story!!! This is an amazing start to a new series!!!
Without Wings is about Nicky (a notorious gangster). Nicky cares only about himself and noone else, until he gives his like for another. As a result the angels give him another chance at life and he is now Daniel. I don't write spoilers -- but OMG this was an amazing story!!!
It took me a little bit to get into the story at first, but one I did - it was almost impossible to put the book down!!!
Even though there are no NC-17 rated bits, I think this story would appeal to fans of 50 Shades of Grey. It reminded me of something I would have seen as a plotline on the old soap opera Passions. This book will also satisfy the 2017 Watauga County Public Library Reading Challenge categories: A Book That's Under 150 Pages; A Paranormal Romance; A Book With A Subtitle; A Book Set In North America; A Book About The Wealthy; A Book With A Metropolitan Setting; A Book Written In The Third Person. I received this book for free through Goodreads Giveaways.
