Billionaire Takes All

I just lost my half of five billion dollars.

The voicemail still chimed in my “Your father is dying. The inheritance is no longer yours or your brother’s. If you want that money, you’re going to have to play by some… unconventional rules.”

Rules? Screw that. I didn’t get this far by following anyone’s rules.
But I did know one thing. If this was a competition between my brother and I for the entire King Family fortune...

I was going to win.

That’s probably exactly what my brother was saying right now, too. He and I hate each other, we have for years. We know hate, and we know what it means to compete.

What we didn't know was how messed up these "rules" would be. You see, to get our inheritance, we've got to do something drastic.

Knock someone up.

That's right. If I want my money, I've got to get a girl pregnant. One thing’s for sure, my sleepy town of Caldwell Hope is in for a rude awakening.
Lock up your wives, your girlfriends, your daughters--everyone is fair game when it comes to winning this damn contest.

The King brothers are coming home.
All hell’s about to break loose.

Billionaire Takes All was a standalone by Jackson Kane. It was my first book by the author.

It was a tale of two brothers who had been estranged for years. One was the polished head of a multi- billionaire corporation while the other was a messed up rock star. Their father was dying and he had one last request for both, which launched their competitive streak. In addition, one brother has a second chance at love, while the other was experiencing something new. It was a journey of forgiveness, rediscovery, and understanding what brings true happiness.

In the end it was a quick read and even humorous at times. The storyline had substance and was well written and well developed, with the exception of several editing errors. Otherwise, it was enjoyable and entertaining.

I just lost my half of five billion dollars.

Five. Billion. Fucking dollars.

I crushed the phone in my hand, but the voicemail chimed in my brain like church bells at midnight. It was probably the same message my brother just got.

“Your father is dying. The inheritance is no longer yours or your brother’s. If you want a chance at that money, you’re going to have to play by some… unconventional rules.”

Rules? Fuck that!

I didn’t get this far by following anyone’s rules.

“Only one of you can win,” The message said. “The other gets nothing.”

I did know one thing.
If this really was a competition between my brother and I for the whole King fortune, I was going to win.

That’s probably exactly what Richard is saying right now too. He and I hate each other, we have for years.

With my hand throbbing, I flexed my fingers. The final sentence of that damn message had flipped my life upside down and kicked it down the fucking sidewalk.
“Good luck, Lucas. You’re going to need it.”

One thing’s for sure, our sleepy town of Caldwell Hope is in for a rude awakening.

When the King brothers come back home all hell’s breaking loose.

Review:
As far as I can tell this is the debut novel from Author, Jackson Kane. I am not sure how Mr. Kane found me, but he sent me a request to read his novel. I am so happy that I was one of the lucky ones that he contacted. As soon as I started this book, I was hooked. Billionaire Takes All has most of the things I love to read about. Bad boy rocker, powerful billionaires. Troubled relationships, and a confrontation with a motorcycle club. The plot of this story has the King brothers returning to their hometown at the request of their dying father. The senior Mr. King has decided to set up a little competition between his two boy. The first son to get a hometown girl pregnant inherits everything. The other gets nothing. What starts out to be a cut throat competition, ends up becoming a wonderful story where the King brothers learn about themselves and each other. They also both find women worth holding on to. This story has so much chemistry that you could blow up a high school chem lab. This book had a great flow that kept me the reader devouring every page. The combination of humor, love, sex and a little dramatic action gives this book a solid 5 Star review from me. I love the surprise ending and how these characters changed and found their happiness. I hope that there will be more books coming from this fun new author.

This was a cute and enjoyable story. We loved both the main characters Richard and Lucas because they were fun and flirty and pranksters and they were complete opposites just enough to make things very interesting .

Richard was the serious one but, we loved seeing him loosen up a bit to enjoyed life round him and have a little bit of fun in the process even knowing a lot was on the line.

Lucas was a rock star and we found him to be floundering a bit but, after meeting his ex-girl from years ago we found that he then once again gained a purpose.

The characters had some steamy chemistry between them and they fit each other to a T if only they could overcome the obstacles in their way.

Overall we really enjoyed the story as the characters were interesting and fun and flirty and the plot itself seemed cut and dry but, had so much more to it than meet the eye.We also saw a father go to great lengths to make amends for his past failures to insure that his sons did not repeat follow in his footsteps or make the same mistakes he made especially when it came to family and enjoying ones life in the here and now.We loved to that this story was also about forgiveness and healing and that it had one huge secret reveal that we did not see coming and we absolutely love when that happens.

***I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are 100% my own.***

Generally I give my rundown of the basic premise of the book, but really, I’m of two minds here. So, I apologize if I break my usual style for this review. Because of that, I’d give this book a solid 3.5 STARS.

We are dealing with dual POVs in this story, which isn’t unusual in a romance. But, in all honesty, I wouldn’t label this a romance…yet it’s still a romance. See, I’m of two minds. Let me address the romance issue. This side of the book, I’d give 3 stars. There’s not much emotional investment in the romance. Yes, it’s there, BUT we’re torn between the brothers. (NO! There is NO love triangle!!!) It’s hard to be emotionally involved when we’re getting dueling love stories, especially ones in such a short book. It makes the stories feel even shorter because of it. On the romance side alone, these books would have been better served split into their own complete love stories. Then we would have time to fall in love with the characters ourselves as readers.

On that other hand though…this book is about so much more than romance. This is a story of a broken family. It’s of a dying man who realized too little too late that the real wealth in life is love and family, and he’s doing his best to make it right. It’s of two brothers who have a dilapidated bridge between them. Neither is willing to fix it but neither can burn it either. In this regard, the book is PERFECTLY written. We get to see both brothers. We get to experience both of their hurts and their hearts. We develop a love for the both of them, and honestly as a reader, I found myself rooting for one, then the other, then the one again, then giving up and praying that it all came to a happy end for them both.

So all that being said, I won’t label this a romance. This is most definitely a love story. This is a love story about a father that loved his boys so much that he did something to try to force them to work together. This is a love story about two brothers who lost their way with one another and their road to rebuild that broken bridge between them. And this is a love story about a broken rock star who left the love of his life in order to save the first love of his life…his mom. And this is a love story about a desperately aloof businessman, who needs spontaneity and light in his life.

Mr. Kane’s debut novel is more than just a mere romance. This is a novel about family and love and the importance of them both. I will say that having the dueling brothers as the POV characters was a unique experience. I hope to see more out of this author in the future. So, would I recommend this book, oh dear readers? I would. Don’t expect a romance, but do expect an amazing love story with romantic elements.

I absolutely loved this book. It was refreshing to read a full story from the point of view of the men. And it was refreshing to read such lovely romantic love stories written by a man. This is my first book by this author and it most definitely won't be the last.

This book is from the point of view of two brothers. That are pitted against each other but not for the reason you are made to think. It's for a reason that is beautiful, touching and unexpected. It's really hard to mention the ins and outs of this story as there would be far to many things that would be spoilt.

The characters are brilliant. From Lucas, Richard, their dad and the women that become such a solid parts of this brilliant story. My only downer about this story is that it's not longer.

This book is a great recommend from me. It's had totally put Jackson Kane on my radar. Meaning I am totally looking forward to reading Judy's story.

Interesting story! Two brothers, Lucas & Richard, are placed in a competition where the prize is 5 billion dollars. They have not seen or spoken to one another in 10 years. Their father is dying and he wants to teach them a lesson about just how important family is.
The competition's rules are mind-boggling and it's highly possible that Mr. King won't live to see exactly who wins this thing!

I can’t tell you how excited I was when asked to review the debut novel from Jackson Kane. Seeing the romance world through the eyes of a male author screams to me. So when I read the premise of the story, I could not wait to see how this man was going to portray the angst and emotions of two brothers being pitted against one another in order to win and secure the inheritance while weaving in the elements of a romance.

This was a beautiful story centered around the love a father has for his children and his desire to see his boys find a love like he once knew. The lengths to which this father goes to show his children the compassion, concern, and love he has for them, hoping for each to find more out of life, was unique but heartfelt. But to call it a true romance-- in the sense of billionaires and alpha males-- was difficult for me, perhaps because it lacked some of the character development I was needing as it bounced between the two brothers.

Now don’t get me wrong, Jackson Kane added in two very strong male characters with love interests that pushed these two men. Both Richard and Lucas were alpha males in their own right, book boyfriend material, in fact. They had completely different interest and ambitions, which created a greater tension between the two. Their sibling banter and rivalry added to the emotional journey these two must take as they each search for the woman who will provide an heir. But the time spent on the two characters and the development of the relationships were too fast and far too short. I actually think Richard and Lucas could have each had a book with greater development of the characters with far more time spent on the female leads who brought their own level of attention to the story. Yes, there were some steamy scenes, some pitfalls to hurdle, and some good chemistry. However, the storyline felt a little rushed and needed some additional building to give these characters the strong sexual chemistry and strength that was trying to come through.

Overall, however, it was a good, quick read with some witty banter that had a beautiful ending. Well worth the time and a great debut piece! This receives a solid 3.5 stars!

Great debut book by Jackson Kane & one that got e hooked quite quickly.

Billionaire takes all is story about 2 brothers Lucas & Richard. A dark family secret tore them apart several years ago, resulting in a fierce hate for each other, one that either of them were prepared to fix.

Lucas, the bad boy rock star who lived his dream, except he always felt like he was missing part of his soul. He paid the ultimate sacrifice to keep the past a secret & out of the media, he lost the love of his life, his one & only. He refused to open himself up emotionally, refusing to be hurt again.

Richard, cocky CEO of the family business. He has worked hard for his success & loves the life his money & fame brings. Women fall at his feet, he has no reason for a relationship & love - hell what the heck does he know about love.

In a funny twist of fate, their dying father decides to change the rules of the $5 Billion inheritance. He will award it to the first son who has a child. With some quirky stipulations he pits the brothers against each other, bringing them back home to Caldwell Hope, forcing them to face the past & hopefully forge a better future.

Jackson has written a sweet story of finding love, with a few twists to get you laughing as well has soe heart wrenchers to get the tears flowing. At the heart of this story is a father who wants more from his children, he wants them to experience the love he had for their mother, to embrace life & live it to the fullest, making sure those closest are a priority & not repeat his mistakes of neglecting the family while he built the family empire.

The story flows well & I loved the dual POV of the brothers. You get to be in their head space, understand why they are who they are. This will book will definitely make you laugh while bringing a lump in your throat too. I'm a sucker for a good epilogue & Jackson's didn't disappoint!

Looking forward to book2, I'm sure it will deliver more yumminess :)

Bold Brothers go from loving to competing to hating in search of the Billions

Great debut novel by Jackson Kane. The flow kept you engaged page after page. The surprising twists and turns we easy to follow and made it hard to put down! And now a bit about the story...

Lucas and Richard couldn't be more different. Looking back neither is happy they've grown apart, but both blamed the other and had no plans to repair their relationship. Until they got the call from their father's lawyer. Both rushed home to see if they could change the rules. First came the pranks, but once people were getting hurt even that got old. Then there was the new and old love, but plastic Barbie tried to kill both... Will these two ever change? What would you do for $5 Billion???

Favorite passages:
- I wasn't there when she needed me, and that eats me alive every damn day.
- "You are the dumbest smart person I know, you know that?"
- "The real secret to success is to take care of your employees. If you treat them fair and help them prosper, they'll work their asses off for you. A strong foundation in a skyscraper is far more important than the highest story."
- I couldn't remember the last time I'd had this much fun with a girl outside of the bedroom.
- I finally understood what my father was trying to say in his backyard when we had that first meeting. The realization boiled in my brain. The money didn't matter. It's who you spend it with that matters.
- "Have I ever told you that I love you?"

I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.

In this book we meet Richard, Lucas, Gloria and Molly. When this book opens up we find both Richard and Lucas have been called home to speak with their dying father. Both are shocked by the stipulation that their father has put in his will. Only one brother can get the entire King fortune but to get this money he must be the first one to produce and heir. Both men on their own try and change their father's mind but he is determined. So the both decide that in this competition their will be only one winner and it will be them. But who will really win in this game between the boys?

The girls know nothing of the stipulations to the will. All they know is that for Molly her true love is back but her worries are is he back for good or is she looking for her heart to be broken again? Gloria knows that she has met an amazing man but when she learns he needs an aire she knows she isn't the woman for him. Is there a way she can change her mans mind or are they both destined to be with people who will never full fulfill them?

This book has a lot of ups and downs in it that will have you hooked to the very end. You will have the feeling you want to smack these characters one moment and then your heart will break for them in the next. This is an amazing story with lots of puns, love and laughter. It really shows fighting for love is never a loss but always a win. I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone.

OMG.....what a fantastic book!! Brand new author that I happened upon and so very happy I did!! I read the teaser and knew I had to read this book. This is one of those books you can't put down once you start.

Richard and Luke are as polar opposite as any two brothers can be and hate each other. Throw in the fact that they are competing with each other for a 5 billion dollar inheritance and the gloves are off. Their dad is dying and wants nothing but happiness for them. He has a real strange way of bringing the boys together. The teaser says more than I can ever write in a synopsis so I'm not going to write one.

There is laughter, tears and even "want to throw your kindle" moments in this book as well as some hot sexy scenes. I found this to be a great read with plenty of everything you could want in a book. I was surprised quite a few times and loved that.

I highly recommend this to everyone who loves a great book with hotness, alpha men, strong women and lots of surprises.

Thank you Jackson Kane for giving us Richard and Luke! Congratulations on a fantastic book!!

Title: Billionaire Takes All
Author: Jackson Kane
Series: standalone
Genre: contemporary romance
Rating: ***

This was a sweet contemporary romance, with a slightly different spin in that it follows two brothers, written from their POVs, along their respective relationships. Sort of a male-centred double romance, I guess, which was somewhat refreshing. The sex scenes were nice and steamy (but there could have been more!), and this was definitely a heartwarming, light and easy read with a HEA.

My main criticism is that I wanted more. Following two romances was a great idea, but for that to happen completely successfully it would have been nice to have been given the chance to really get to know these characters, and follow their paths on an emotional level, but to fit in the shorter novel, it felt a little rushed in places and very whirlwind. I'm more of a fan of a steadier, slower developing pace and time to get my emotional attachments in.

That being said, it was a strong debut from a very lovely author, and I can't wait to see what comes next.

What a great debut book from Jackson Kane. I've found another new author to follow. Soon as I started this book was gripped with Lucas and Richard. Their banter, fights and competitive streak really kept me gripped. This book made me laugh, made me frustrated and made me blush with the hot sexy scenes.

I loved how this was written from both brothers PoV, it was interesting reading their thoughts and see what they were planning in the sibling rivalry. I loved how this was a great story of second chances, letting love in and learning the lesson of family being what's important.

This was a great easy going, page turning read, how can you not love 2 hot and sex alpha males trying to win over 2 feisty sexy females. The fact that this was written solely from the boys PoV appealed to me as it's different.

Looking forward to reading Jackson Kane's next book

What we have here is a classic case of sibling rivalry. When Luke - the down on his luck rockstar and Richard - the playboy workaholic are summoned back home to discuss a change in their fathers will, they are both equally stunned. Be the first to produce an heir - or lose it all.

This book is told in the dual POV which is a diff twist. The moral of the story is less about winning an inheritance and more about slowing down and seeing that their is infact more to life than the all mighty dollar.

This is my confession: When I first saw this book, I was a little on the leery side; A debut book in the more than cliche billionaire romance scene by a male author of whom I have never heard...Well, I am leery no more. I can honestly say that I was pleasantly surprised by this book.

Fighting and Competing for the Win

Wow! I fell totally in love with Lucas and Richard King. Two brother who are so similar yet so different. Both told by their father that they have to compete for their inheritance.

Coming back to their hometown after more than a decade away the King brothers has to fight for what they feel should be rightfully theirs.

The love. The passion. The sexy heat levels. The easiness to adapt to the characters. I fell in love with the story and everything about it. Gotta love me a rock star romance with hints of MC!

Totally a must read!

It had me from the beginning. The way Jackson wrote this in both brothers pov's was great. It was interesting to see what each was thinking and going to do next. The hardships and learning what family means to each is inspiring. But the realization of the lessons they are taught throughout is the most important! Would definitely recommend! Congrats on your debut novel Jackson!!!

A Rocker & A Businessman Walk Into a Bar…

In this case the rocker was Lucas King and the businessman was his brother Richard King and even though it was a biker bar they walked into that’s not the point. Lol These brothers have lived totally different lives for some time now but it was their father making a change to his will that made things happen. You would think the old man crazy but it was that development that brought these boys back home.

Lucas had left ten years ago and left his then girlfriend, Molly without a reason why. Life went on because Lucas made it big in the rock world and Molly married a biker. Molly never left his mind and since his time back all it took was him seeing this rough looking guy raise a hand to Molly and he was all about letting Molly know how much she really meant to him.

Richard had pretty much run the family business and he was drawn to his opposite of a raven haired beauty who owned and operated her own business. Gloria was not the type to take crap from anyone especially this guy who showed up at her job for a coffee.

Oh, yeah the change in the will was that whoever gave the old man the first grandchild and the mother would have to be from their hometown of Caldwell Hope, would get the billions that were in the will. So what was going to win out…the love for the right woman, the money or maybe even bringing these boys back together again?

I have to say I was totally drawn in and all four of these characters won me over. It was written in the way that comes along and you won’t get anything done because this book just takes over. I’m so glad I found this book and can’t wait for more to come from Jackson Kane.

Brothers Richard & Lucas have nothing but hatred towards each other, and after a call about their father dying making their inheritance put in to a competition, it only gets worse. See, in order to get the whole shebang, they have to knock a girl up, and it's game on between the two since the one who is too lose loses all the money. This story was very entertaining with two very sexy alpha males who couldn't be more different, and it kept me on the edge of my seat until every last page was devoured. There's heat in spades, making me need a fan as I read, not to mention some f-bomb dropping at the chaos ensues. The journey these two men take is definitely one for the ages, as they learned about each other, not to mention the women they find, and maybe just maybe, they actually get close as brothers. However I'll never tell, so hit those one click buttons to see how it all plays out! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

Billionaire Takes All is the first book in the Caldwell Hope Billionaires series. The book is also the second edition. The book is written in dual point of view between Lucas and Richard, who are brothers. The POV is definitely different from the norm. We usually see this POV format between the couple. Their father is dying and in his will the first brother to give an heir will receive an inheritance of five billion dollars, while the other gets nothing. Lucas and Richard do not get along and they are so very different. Richard is a successful CEO and Lucas is a rock star. Their love interests are perfect for them.

I thought the book was well written and the characters were developed. I especially liked the way Jackson Kane used metaphors. I was drawn to the characters and the story. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

This book unfortunately fell pretty flat for me.

A lot happened in a short amount of time for Lucas and Molly and their love was understandable. But the secret was confusing and dumb and I don’t know if that would actually happen lol.

Richard and Gloria were the complete opposite. Not much happened in a short amount of time and Richard was head over heels. Gloria was a nice character but she’s also forgetful. I didn’t really believe in their love, it seemed more lustful than anything. 🤷🏻‍♀️

And the whole inheritance thing. Idk why any parent would, it seemed liked, force their child into having a baby with a woman they hardly know for money. Lol but that is the plot of the book, I knew that, I guess I just thought it was gonna go another way.

I did like the dual POV between the two brothers though. That was interesting and different.

This story of rival brother was wonderful the chapters just flow so well and kept you engaged page after page. The brothers Lucas and Richard couldn't be more different. When they get a call saying their father was dying and he had one last request for both, which launched their competitive streak. Both rushed home to see if they could change the rules. What a fantastic story! Richard and Luke are two brothers that hate each other and couldn’t be more opposite from each other, Richard is a successful businessman and Lucas a rockstar. Their dying father sets up a competition between them, in order to get a five million dollar inheritance, and a way to finally bring them together and find happiness. With some sibling competitiveness and sabotage of each other, Richard and Luke, end up helping each other. This book has everything I love in a book, family, second chances, a bit of romance, and love. A fantastic read from start to finish and I highly recommend you one-click today, you won’t be disappointed.

Sibling rivalry makes for a VERY INTRIGUING read! And with Jackson Kane at the writing helm, this story only aims high and has you gripped for quite a ride. This book takes two estranged brothers on a life journey of forgiveness, redemption, and enlightenment. This story is well developed with characters meant to make their mark and have true staying power. It took me on a roller coaster of emotions and anxious to find out the conclusion. Truly a very captivating read that left me wanting more.

This story is of two brothers in a competition with one another and I loved reading it from both of their point of views throughout. Can you guess by the title that only one will win? There's so much I want to say but I refuse to leave any spoilers. If you're the type of reader that enjoys sexy alpha males & a happily ever after ending then this book is perfect for you. It's a must read, page turner from beginning till the very end. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

Let's just take a moment to appreciate this cover....... 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Ok, now that that's out of the way, this is my first book by Jackson Kane, and it won't be my last. This is such a good book, and I love the rivalry between Richard and Luke. This book has it all,,, love , lust , heartbreak, second chances, and family. And you get two love stories in one book!!!! You get Luke's love story, AND you get Richard's!!! I can't wait to read more by this author.
