Books in the Fractured Series : Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6
An art student who takes: Art, English, Astronomy, and History class is so broke she faints from not eating. She meets her TA who is fabulously rich and had sworn off dating for fear that they only see dollar signs. He rescues her and thinks since she is destitute, she must be the lone female in the school that's not interested in his money.
Ok, so many things wrong with the story. Theses are just from the synopsis
- History class? English class? Are we in middle school? - She's so broke she faints? Actually I can see that happening, but so cliché - he won't date cause all girls are out for his money... She might too, after all she's staying with you for free
So the book is named Fractured meaning both are broken in some way. This first book sucks donkey balls in giving us that setup. Being poor and neglected doesn't automatically mean being broken. Being the poor rich kid doesn't either.
I know it probably will play out that way, but I can't sit through another sappy book. Though on the upside, the writing is decent.
Rcvd arc for review. Amber, an art student passes out after running to class when fellow student and hottie Hunter comes to her rescue. Amber is mesmerized by his gorgeous eyes and gets lost in them. What she doesn't know is Hunter is the TA for the class and she finds him paying special attention to her during class plus offers to walk her home. Financial problems leave amber broke, without food and decent living quarters. Hunter has taken it upon himself to make sure amber is fed and taken care of. Amber on the other hand doesn't like handouts...especially when he takes her back to his place to take care of her. Can amber look past hunter's constant wanting to protect her and let herself be helped for once?
Amber is the epitome of starving artist. She is trying to get through college on her own with student loans. The problem is she is starving herself. Hunter finds her after a dizzy spell. He is a TA for her art class and maybe her savior as well but can she afford to fall for him.
I like this book because it's short and well written. Hunter gallant rescuer and Amber is the reluctant waif. So many books are overwritten and full of uninteresting gibberish just to make them longer. That just makes me lose interest. Not the case here.
