Pre-review: I swear I will finish this one someday...

Rating: 3.8 stars.

(1) The artwork isn't the best thing ever but it's still workable, I guess...

(2) The idea about a young man being haunted by his vampiric ancestor isn't bad.......and the vampires actually killed people in the story, that I am okay with...

(3) so far so good, will read the next volume.

I hardly find Manga I really like, but this one was enjoyable and the fact that all 3 volumes are available free on kindle, sweet :D
If you are looking for a decent manga to read through, with Vampire reincarnation in the modern world, this one seems to be the right choice.

readable but meh. To be fair....it was free on kindle. I just kind of found this....forgettable. parts were good but overall I think I might be getting picky when it comes to manga. interesting concept but if you asked me a week after reading this to tell you a thing about any of the characters I would not be able to

Nicholas Harker is a high school boy who just went through the worst thing in his life: the death of both his parents. At their funeral is when he discovers he's the sole heir of a mysterious and vast state. Alongside Jill Hawthorne, Nicholas discovers he is a direct descendent of Lord Dracula. And worst yet, he is possessed by him. Now some want to use him, some want to help him. Which one will win, it remains to be seen. or not, since I'm staying the hell away from this thing from now on.

I don't think I liked anything in this godforsaken thing. Maybe the art style sometimes, only when they didn't draw Nicholas cross-eyed or in some bizarre positions.

In the meantime, I was being cringed by the dumb plot of the ancestors of Dracula. I didn't finish reading Dracula yet, but I can assure you it's not dumb like this manga. The mystery of Dracula killing people was so stupid, why the fraking Lord Dracula was so careless about his victims? The ancestors bullshit was just. Urgh.

3.5* Stars - A very interesting Dracula returns story. I loved the art style, especially the character designs and the story was compelling. I really enjoyed how Bram Stokers Dracula was flipped to being a real event with the previous characters descendants carrying on the modern day story.

Nicholas was a good protagonist type, you start off having sympathy for him and rooting for good things to happen in his life, and when the possession begins you still want him to succeed. I worried for him and got scared that he would get caught. He invokes feelings of protectiveness and just wanting to take care of him.

I really enjoyed Jill and liked the dynamic between her and Nick. I’m hoping they properly get together and that she can help keep him sane. Cate Ambrose is a really fun character and I look forward to more from her.

I had a very fun time with this one and I can’t wait to move on to volume two. I have to know what happens to Nicholas.

interesting extension to the Dracula story

So I am a sucker for anything vampire related, which means I’ve read some good stuff and some not so good. I’ve also watch a lot of movies and tv shows so I’m always interested n a new take on a legend.

After about 30 seconds of not knowing why I couldn’t page forward before realising because it’s manga I had to swipe backwards (🤦‍♀️) I enjoyed the layout of the story as it is the first manga I have read on kindle (first Manga I’ve read in years).

It did feel a bit shallow on story line but that is possibly because it’s been so long since I read anything like this.

As it was free it was a total bargain and worth getting, I certainly wouldn’t have been disappointed even if I’d paid for it.

An intriguing retelling of a classic, gothic-horror novel illustrated in manga format. I typically don't pick up books of this genre. However, I do love reading classics and the tale of Dracula is considered to be a classic of popular culture. I especially love reading retellings; which is one of the things that intrigued me about this manga.

Dracula Everlasting, Vol 1 introduces us to Nicholas Harker, a teenage boy dealing with a tragedy in his life. The arrival of a new friend, Jill Hawthorne, who has relocated from London, and the discovery that he is a direct descendant of Lord Dracula changes everything for him.

The pacing, in the beginning, seems a bit passive but necessary to establish the characters and render the plot coherent. The story does start to pick up soon though. The art is not too bad. I had no problem following the sequences between panels. Overall, as the first volume in the series, this is not a bad start. If you're a fan of Hellsing by Kouta Hirano and Hideyuki Kikuchi's Vampire Hunter D, then Dracula Everlasting by Nunzio DeFilippis and Christina Weir is certainly right up your alley.

Interesting

Dracula Everlasting is a cool twist on the classic story. Based on old letters between Bram Stoked and his publisher. In this world the Dracula book was based on real happenings, and the main characters are defendants of the characters in the book. Its pretty cool and interesting how authors went about it. There are three volumes so far, and they are all free to download on Kindle, you don't even need Kindle Unlimited. I recommend this series to any fans of vampires and Dracula.

I got this for free and I've got to say I quite enjoyed it. The art is good as is the story. Someone said this one was a bit predictable but I didn't feel it was; then again, I really don't know a whole lot about the original Dracula story so I don't know any of the names other than Dracula and Van Helsing so I don't know if that's why. Regardless of that, it is a good story so far.

I've never read anything Manga

Manga-style books have been on my list of things to try. But I struggled to find a place to start. Dracula is one of my favorite stories and reading this retelling was the best decision I ever made. The artwork is original and easy on the eyes. The story itself is wonderfully written and intriguing. Super excited to get into the next volume!

Just okay

More horror than Shojo (despite the art style), this is about Dracula haunting the descendants of the characters from the book (which exists in universe). There's long looks and pining, but not much in the way of romance. I think the art style worked against it and darker and heavier shading would have helped make it seem more ominous than moody.

So fun. This is the first Manga I have read in a while and I loved it. The plot twist was a bit obvious to me but its still a fun vampire story and I cant wait to start the next one. I love the characters, and the art style is great. I was a bit confused with how often the POVs switch at first but once I got a into It and started to catch on to the switches I really liked it.

This was interesting, I really liked the concept, the art, the characters and the story. It’s got a lot of sadness and darkness in the story but at the same time you’re rooting for an underdog love story. Will they end up together or end up killing each other... I can’t wait to find out.

It was a nice take on Dracula's myth, but not the greatest thing ever. Some things were predictable and i couldn't really get attached to the characters. As a fan of Dracula, i've enjoyed it and I'm gonna be reading the sequel!

I love vampire stories, especially those surrounding Dracula! This was an interesting take on the story, I like the concept, but overall for me it was a bit boring. They also use the G word a lot when referring to certain people, so stay clear if you don’t want to be reading that.

I think if I'd read the book Dracula, this might make more sense. Or maybe not. Either way, great way to bring the story into the modern world. Only objection is the use of the word G*psy which is a slur to the Roma.

Decent story betrayed by lacking illustrations

The story envisioned by Christiana Weir is enjoyable, but the illustrations make the story hard to stick with as several characters are drawn cross eyed or change slightly enough the can be confused with other characters

Eh, this was okay. A modern-day Massachusetts boy is possessed by the spirit of Dracula. Several murders are being investigated by a detective who is flirting with a highschool student. (That part kind of gave me the Ick.)

This entire manga trilogy is currently free on kindle and I think it's worth checking out for a quick series read. The Dracula story is retold in modern times as a young adult story. It's a fun read!

Dracula return

Well, the mystery quite good. Its a western story draw on Japanese manga. The return of dracula in the modern western world. The mystery that plague the descendants.
