Suspenseful

From the beginning I was hooked and kept my attention throughout. Small town in North Dakota dealing with big oil company. Result of drilling, half the town depends on jobs company provides so they can feed their families. Other half dealing with chemicals in their water and dangerous gases, resulting their children being sick and dying. Two year struggle to company to comply with the regulations set for drilling.

I usually struggle with multiple points of view, but this one seemed to blend those aspects easily. Being a prequel there is not a ton of character building; however, after that cliff hanger I can't wait to see what happens.

I am so glad that I bought the box set on sale. This one is a teaser to buy the next book. It really leaves a lot of questions unanswered and too many loose ends. It is well written though and it makes me want to keep on reading.

Great read

Wow. Great story and very nice buildup to make you anxious for the next installment in the series. Lena is a heroine with a past she had to overcome but she is doing it, and doing it well. Her family is taking a lot if heat for her decisions but they are standing behind her. The machinations in the background have your head whipping back and forth like you're watching a tennis match. Can't wait for the next book in the series. I would recommend this story to any adult reader who enjoys a tense and exciting read.

Really good quick read. Now I HAVE to get the next one to continue the story. One of those stories where you just really need to know what happens next in the series.

I chose this book because I thought it would be interesting - I was not disappointed. It kept me on my toes, that's for sure. The car chase, stalking, threats, etc kept me wanting more and more of the book. I did not want to stop reading. Who knew passing or trying to get a certain bill passed could and would cause so much strife and anger for this political leader? I look forward to reading more in this series, I want to see what happens next.

Terrifyingly relevant and realistic

James Hunt delivers with exhilarating details. The story unfolds and you'd better be ready to dive into the deep end of panic as this fast paced beginning had me from the first page.

Stolen: The Beginning

I enjoyed the read and gave it five stars, however, I'm not pleased with it ending right in the midst of the story and forcing me to buy another book or be left hanging. If I had known about the way it ends, I would never have read the book.

Nothing New

Unfortunately the story has been told. The writing is very good but there are no surprises. I had trouble finishing the story because it lacks imagination.

Riveting, could not put the book down. Love the female heroine to this story..... I don't know how anyone could have the stamina to endure the trials and tribulation she goes through.
