This book embodies the worst of American textbooks. Predictable, basic and 'dumbed down', it manages to transform fascinating social issues into a dirge of bullet points and scenarios.
I bought a second hand edition of this book and the previous reader had underlined one sentence in 595 pages. The spine was unbroken.
I cannot understand why any university academic would assign this book. Community health is so important and so interesting. This textbook - ironically - sucks the life out of this topic.
