Liz Greene is held in high esteem by astrologers all over the world, professional and non-professional alike. She is a prolific author of books and various publications and has been instrumental in shaping modern psychological astrology.
She holds doctorate degrees in psychology and (as of 2010) in history and is a qualified Jungian analyst. She also holds a diploma in counselling from the Centre for Transpersonal Psychology in London, and a diploma from the Faculty of Astrological Studies, of which she is a lifetime Patron.
Hard to find in the US, this is an excellant examination of Uranus and the Promethean myth/archetype. Since I have the Uranian archetype strong in my natal chart, I found this book incredibly useful in identifying Uranian impulses within and pondering how to work with and utilize these potent "thunderbolts" as they stream through my own psyche.
Does anyone know what it takes to have a personal reading with dr. Liz Greene? She is so precious. The best of Astrology decoding in her books - including this one. Highly recommend.
I was excited to find out this book is finally back in print. In addition to the many fine insights about Uranus, I was pleasantly surprised that there are sections on Saturn and how to understand and explain transits.
As some of her other books I do not like the "transcript of classroom lessons" style. The information is good. I am unsure if I support her prometheus take on Uranus. But still a very good book to read.
Uranus – the plant of change and unexpected events is the subject of this fascinating book which consists of transcripts of two seminars given by the author. The seminar format adds an extra dimension because of the comments from the audience. The charts of some well-known people are discussed as are the charts of individuals taking part in the seminar to illustrate how Uranus behaves natally and by transit.
You need to have a basic knowledge of astrology – houses, signs, planets and aspects – in order to understand this book but you don’t need to be a qualified astrologer. If you have an interest in Jungian psychology then you may also find this book of interest to you.
This is a well written and fascinating book and it shows how a knowledge of astrology can help us understand ourselves and help us deal with the crises which occur in everyone’s life in a more constructive manner.
This is the second time I have read this during my studies, this time very poignant because of my Uranus opposition at the moment. I was looking for help in understanding the thought processes I am going through with this transit.
As always, Liz Greene gives concise and insightful information on both Uranus and Saturn transits. With interaction from the audience some of the information is a little outdated with the planetary connections but it still useful information.
Not a cookbook style of book, you will need a good broad range of astrological knowledge.
I always get to the end of a Liz Greene book and find I have learnt a huge amount about myself and my loved ones. Invaluable for students of astrology looking for depth of knowledge on these planets.
