Ariel Denham is a rising young cosmetic surgeon forced by circumstances to take a job at the Fountainhead Foundation. The resources there are first rate, but it's a very unusual place. For starters, there's the all-powerful head of the place whom Ariel has never met, the bizarre curfew for all staff and patients, and the single perfect rose that appears on her desk daily-without a note.
But strangest of all is the man who waits for Ariel each night on her forbidden walks through the dark grounds, a man who refuses to step out from the shadows, but whose sensual presence lingers in her heart all through the day ... Jonah.
I couldn't help but like the gothic cliches reworked but every few pages I was saying "Really, book? I've got to call you out on your bullshit."
The biggest problem was the sight issue...The leading lady cannot see someone standing right next to her night after night because it is too dark, but she can jog in a wooded area the same nights in the same area and never run into a tree?
