With a host of pull out surprises and flaps to open, Fairies is every little girl's dream ticket to an enchanted realm.
Brief Review: This book was very enjoyable. There were pop-ups, hidden letters, and creative writing and color ideas every time you turned the page. It was a little long to keep children interested but if one was to read about a different subject of fairy (about two pages) a day, it would work out really well.
Content Areas: This book definitely helps provoke a creative imagination as well as considering the plants and animals around you and taking care of nature.
Comprehensive Questions: What do the fairies need in order to leave Fairyland? What spell would fairies use in order to get over being in a bad mood? What do the leaves on four-leaf clover represent? (Hope, faith, love, and luck)
Wonders: Why do the fairies have to stay away from humans? Why does water have magical qualities? How long do fairies live for?
Present from my Aunt! Well. It's a very pretty book, though parts of it were absolutely infuriating -- pretty sure that kids are hardy enough to accept the idea of death for one, and while there are lots of positive females in positions of power, do all the bad guys have to be ugly? It's just a bit weird.
