Stone: Bounty Hunter Book # 3: A Wild West Series: Rendezvous with Death: Killing Wyoming Willie: Western saga of a bounty hunter with a deputy U. S. Marshal badge.
In the middle of nowhere, Stone and his fellow passengers find themselves stranded on a stagecoach with a busted wheel and an oncoming blizzard. After the driver mentions there is a railroad line not far from their location, Stone sets out to find the tracks and ultimately a train. He finds a train, but it isn't moving. The train has been robbed by outlaws and all but one of the crew has been murdered. If he’s going anywhere on this train, with the help of a surviving brakeman, Stone will have to figure out a way to move this behemoth himself. After mastering the controls to some extent, he discovers the tracks ahead had been destroyed by the same varmints in order to stop the train. He has but one option and that is to move in reverse. Unfortunately, he doesn’t get far before the train derails. In addition to all his other problems, he finds the gold is still in the mailroom. Apparently, the varmints didn’t find what they were looking for. He is not overly surprised when they return. This time, they’ll have a surprise awaiting them. Ride along with Jake Stone as he encounters ever-present danger and occasional romance in what was once the wild west frontier.
I love Breland's stories. They are imaginative and well told. There is one thing that would make them so much easier for me and, I'm sure, many other readers. The proof reading leaves much to be desired. Makes me want to contact the publisher and volunteer.
