Dr Gary Kelly is Distinguished University Professor in the Department of English and Film Studies at the University of Alberta, Canada. He holds a BA in History from the University of Toronto; and a BA and DPhil in English from the University of Oxford.

His research centres around Women's writing, Romanticism, Bluestocking work, Popular novels and Romantic fiction of the 18th & 19th centuries, Jane Austen, and Gothic literature.
