Garson is definitely not the "normal" sub I have read about many times. He has many hard limits, most of them having to do with getting emotionally or intimately involved with any Doms. He goes to the club once a week, for an hour, for his pain and submission, then he goes home and takes care of his own orgasms. For a sub, he seems inordinately in control and not willing to let the reins of submission go very far. However, once I learned a bit more about him, it became very clear as to why.
"Dark wavy hair, heavily lashed brown eyes, pale skin, lean but fit body, Clark Kent glasses and an unashamed pain slut—it all added up to Garson Harrisburg, Jarvis’ own personal wet dream. It was entirely possible that he was in love with the reserved, bookish and unbelievably sexy motherfucker."
Jarvis has spent a year trying to get past Garson's reserve, with absolutely no luck. When they meet one night at the club and all the rooms are heavily booked, Jarvis puts his plan in motion and offers Garson a proposition. A proposition that makes Garson very nervous, but also tempts him too much to resist. It was very interesting to observe these two men together and I enjoyed it immensely.
An intense but deeply beautiful scene occurs at Jarvis's home, in his dungeon, opening Garson up to everything he's closed off and shut down these past four years. It was truly wonderful to see and I loved that Jarvis and Garson both got exactly what they'd been dreaming of…even if they didn't know they had.

This is a short but satisfying story and centres on Garcon and Jarvis.
‘Once bitten twice shy’ is the mantra that Garcon lives by. After being let down badly by his previous Dom Garcon is determined never to allow his heart to be hurt like that again. He has his submissive needs met in a very clinical way – he attends a BDSM club for an hour a week, he has a favourite Dom who can meet his needs for pain but there is absolutely nothing sexual allowed to happen – zero, nada, zilch! His limits are non-negotiable as he keeps his bubble of protection firmly ensconced around his heart.
Jarvis has been playing with Garcon once a week for the last year and although accustomed and respectful of his limits he is dying for a chance to crack open the man he has slowly been falling for. Jarvis is a gentle man and Dom who finally gets the chance to challenge Garcon when he turns up unexpectedly looking for an extra session. We are along for the ride, and Ms Knight sets it up so that we are just as invested as Jarvis in getting the right outcome. Along the way we discover just how much pain Garson really desires, and whether he can finally find a new Master. A very intense, and enjoyable read.

Super short but really good. There was a lot packed into so few pages but it was well worth the read. I only wished it was longer, I think this would have been a great full length book. Hot Dom and emotional sub, who could ask for more?

Yummy! A strong story with a lot of emotion. Appropriately it really does center mostly on a particular event so it's not too large in scope. The two men were perfect - each acting a role but wanting a forever. How they get there has excellent sexual tension and a sort of slow opening up with realization that the rules they live by are suffocating their opportunity for living, breathing love. Recommended!

Sorry about that, but this VERY short story is the first one by this author that brought together all the elements of a 5-star read for me! The attention to detail during the dungeon scene... the emotions that bombarded me, not just from Garson, but also Jarvis... wow, just wow! Ms. Knight is a hit or miss author for me... but this one was a home run! A touchdown! A... sorry, that is the extent of my sports knowledge! ;p
I will be honest, the cover is what attracted me to this story... when I read the blurb, I was a bit leary, as extreme BDSM is not my thing... but, dang... that dungeon scene flowed like a love story... which I guess is exactly what it was! Well done, Ms. Knight! Well done!

I found it surprisingly good for a BDSM story. The main characters are not the stereotype sub and dom and the story is engaging. There are occasions were things feel too rushed, and there are also a few rather hilarious punctuation mistakes. But all in all it was an enjoyable short story.

This is a really sweet read...Garson keeps himself closed off because of a past hurt but Jarvis see all of him and wants him to open up...There's only one scene between them but it's really hot.....They make a perfect couple x

This quick fifty plus page novella has a lot going on and is brilliantly told in that short time.
We find out that Garson, has had a Dom once, but was left w/o ceremony and because of that. Is afraid of being rejected so has made it a point not to get close again. But needs the structure of what a full time D/s relations gives.
Javis, his current active Dom, understands this and for the last year has been trying to convenes Garson to give him a chance. Slowly, subtly, until one night, Jarvis sees that Garson is ready.
This is that night.
Watching Garson come out of his shell and accept Jarvis is a pleasure to watch. And is amazing to me how an author can write that much feeling and detail in such few words.
Best of luck to this perfect couple.

It takes a full night of Jarvis pushing Garson until he almost safe words then giving him what he needs to make him realise that he’s not making fun of him that he really does care and he wants a future with him.

I liked the Jarvis is kind, caring, when he pushes Garson. Garson has some deep hurts and he really needs what Jarvis can bring to a relationship with him.
This is a very emotionally charged read. I love BDSM that gives an extra emotional layer to a story, and this is that kind of story. Tiny bit of angst thrown in and a whole lot of love.

This short story was really sweet and definitely hot. I adored Garson and how he struggled to let go and show his emotions. His back story made my heart hurt and I was glad he found happiness again. Jarvis was so sexy with how he waited for Garson to be ready but still gave him what he needed. He was also so sensual in his pleasuring Garson. He respectfully pushed Garson’s limits but let him know they would still continue as they had before if Garson wasn’t ready to go to the next level. Jarvis was so careful of Garson’s feelings. they ended on such a hopeful note too. I would love to see more of them so if there’s ever a sequel I would read the heck out of it.

I ended up in two minds about this novella. On one hand, Knight does an amazing job of packing an entire romance arc into the events of a single evening without ever reverting to info-dumping. On the other, I didn't quite understand how Jarvis could have fallen in love with Garson considering the number of walls Garson erected around their encounters, nor had Garson ever (before that night) indicated that he was open to Jarvis pushing his limits. So, an enjoyable short romance while I was reading it, but it didn't quite hold up once I started to consider it after the fact.

Short, sweet, and moderately angsty
Short, but packed with kinky goodness! I enjoyed this book so much, I immediately reread it, which is something I don’t remember ever doing before. The story is angsty and sweet. Although a quick read and part of me would love to read more about Garson and Jarvis, it is a fully fleshed out, well developed story that drew me in and left me feeling satisfied.

Fascinating story
This is a story of a man who wants a master but is afraid of getting emotionally hurt and a Master who has fallen in love with this scared man. A sweet yet kinky story of two men who have slowly fallen in love and finally do something about it. M/M BDSM romance.
