Georgia had dreams of making it big as an actress and ten years later that's all they were...dreams. She nailed the audition aspect of it, going on a plethora of them, it was just the landing the role part that kept eluding her. Halfway through that decade, the arrival of her niece, Bailey, became a wake up call and Georgia became Bailey's nanny. Yes, she may wish things were different and struggle with loneliness, but this is her life now and she's accepted it...sort of. However, when her ten year high school reunion comes around, her lack of achievement leaves her former classmates in a gossip frenzy. Armed with too many doses of liquid courage, Georgia decides she needs to cross one thing off her "regrets" list. That item? Trying to go back in time, instead of admitting defeat and moving forward, and rekindling things with her ex-boyfriend, former high school quarterback, now NFL back-up quarterback, Brandon. Doesn't sound too hard to accomplish, right? Now if only Brandon was aware of her plan.
Gideon is surprised, and unbelievably turned on, when he wakes up to see Georgia in his bed and her hands being put to good use. *wink wink* However, there's the little, well okay, it's pretty big, fact (ha, that sounded so dirty considering my previous sentence and the wink wink) that Gideon, though he fantasized about the popular cheerleader while in high school, honestly couldn't stand her as a person. Her and her friends, along with Brandon, taunted him due to his nerdish personality. Thanks to being named in Forbes magazine and well on his way to social media stardom due to his and his partner, Kurt's, burgeoning new company, Gideon is at the reunion to show all those naysayers that nerds rule and they can all suck it. Well okay, not in exactly those terms, but you get my drift.
Gideon, thinking his old shameful fantasy is about to be realized, takes control of the situation and Georgia. Things get climatic *eye waggle* but unfortunately, shortly after he blows her mind, the fact that he isn't Brandon as she'd thought shocks her and Gideon quickly realizes she didn't sneak into his room per se, she was looking for someone else. As for Georgia, she is ashamed by her self-perceived failures and intentionally stayed away from Gideon throughout dinner, the man who made something of himself and has achieved more than she could ever hope to. In her mind, she's failed yet again because her mission was not accomplished. All her anger and shame is aimed at herself, not Gideon, but of course, the former target for taunts and pranks doesn't see it that way.
What happens when Gideon and Kurt's potential investor wants to meet Gideon's girlfriend, the one Gideon created to avoid the investor's spoiled party happy daughter? Where can Gideon acquire a woman willing to play his fake girlfriend for a short time? Well it just so happens he does know a struggling actress...Will Georgia accept Gideon's offer? As these two are getting to know each other so they can convincingly play their parts for the investor, will their chemistry grow to include a mutual connection as well?
Will Gideon and Georgia ever act, intentionally this time, on their intense chemistry? Will Georgia be able to prove she's changed? Will Gideon be able to accept that Georgia truly wants him? Do they have a chance at a real future together?
One-click now to see how two former polar opposites in every category have both changed. This is an interesting story with a unique take on the reunion premise. These two aren't first loves looking for a second chance. They're essentially former enemies hesitant to cross the battle lines that were drawn so long ago.
