Mark Macy has been at the center of Instrumental Transcommunication (ITC) and Electronic Voice Phenomena (EVP) research, and his books are a good introduction to these subjects. The first book listed here details how almost a decade of promising research fell apart in the late 1990s because clashes among some of the living researchers caused their dead collaborators to withdraw.
