**This is a full length novel based on the previously published Watcher Series Novellas*
Life is not lost by dying; life is lost minute by minute, day by dragging day, in all the thousand small uncaring ways. ~Stephen Vincent Benét
I remember the day my life stopped being lost minute by minute. I remember the way my breath caught in my throat as I noticed him for the first time, even though I felt as if he’d been in my life all along. I remember the feel of his eyes on me as if he were caressing me right there in the middle of class. I remember the feelings of distrust mingled with the nagging voice in my head telling me he was the most honest person I’d ever meet. This is the story of how I met my savior; the man who saved me from myself.
Hailing from the Midwest, Rhiannon Jean has finally decided to listen to the voices in her head and put their stories on paper. She loves cats, cupcakes, Netflix, wine, writing, crafting, music, singing too loudly with the car radio, dancing, shoes, tattoos, equality, feminism, and correcting people's grammar.
I can't fully express my feelings on this book. It was a roller coaster ride that I truly enjoyed!! Rhiannon Jean Is absolutely brilliant and can tell an amazing story. The way she told the story of Lily and Gabriel was intense, heartbreaking and so full of love!! I fell in love with both of these characters!! I was enchanted from beginning to end!! Truly a break through novel!! I would 100% recommend The Watcher!! I loved it!!!
Arc for an honest review. Lily is in an unhappy marriage and her husband is not the nicest guy. Music pulls her trough the difficult times. When she meets Gabriel he turns her world upside down in seconds. Gabriel is in love with her for a while but he respect the fact she is married. The development of their relationship is beautiful to read. I would recommend it to my friends.
I thought I'd read the synopsis, I thought I had an idea what this book was about, however boy did it twisted on me!! It is a really great read. Full of suspense, surprises, and sweet too.
This had so much potential. And parts were really good, but it just felt forced in places. I just wish the ending had as much intensity as the beginning. But sadly it lost that.
An endearing romance novel, with carefully layered suspense and surprise twists along the way.
I could relate very much to the protagonist in this sweet, endearing, suspense-ridden and at times erotic romance novel. Right from the start, I empathised with the plight of Lily in her failing marriage/relationship and how she just wanted to enjoy life to the full, with someone more in tune with appreciating her, instead of constantly demeaning her. When Gabriel enters her life, she is full of hope, wonder and optimism but finds it difficult to trust him completely because he keeps holding things back, despite being the most considerate lover that she has ever met.
I really enjoyed the build-ups, the conflicts, the intrigue and the natural eroticism that grew throughout the relationship of Lily and Gabriel. I did not like her ex-husband one bit and mentally cheered at the scenes when Lily was being kind to herself, taking herself out more to let her hair down with her friends and starting an exhilarating new chapter of her life with Gabriel too.
Lily is really into her music and lyrics, which makes her character so fresh and vibrant. While reading, you might want to put on some of the tunes that she is listening to, in order to immerse yourself even more into the story and the feelings she is experiencing. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and how all the twists played out in the end, particularly as I was emotionally charmed with the intense chemistry and back stories of both Lily & Gabriel.
I sincerely look forward to delving into more well-crafted stories by this author.
I really enjoyed the storyline and the dark side of it. I immediately got caught up in the book and even though it was during the holiday season, I felt it was a quick read for me. I would definitely recommend this book to others.
The only thing I struggled with was the 1st person POV flow. At times it read like a journal versus a story being told. A few typos and grammar errors but nothing that took away from the story and can be corrected easily :)
I think I saw that this was Rhiannon's first book and my experience is that writers get better over time, I plan to read more since I enjoyed her creativity in her story writing.
I loved the concept of this book. Such a different look and feel to a romance. I fell in love with the characters and wanted so much for them. The overall story fell flat though. The build up was amazing, if a little too detailed and repetitive when bouncing views, but part 3 seemed rushed and short. There was no real conclusion. It could have easily used another part or two. I was shocked and dismayed when I saw The End.
I really like this author though and will continue reading her.
The premise had promise. The execution wasn't great. The ending felt rushed and to be honest there really wasn't much romance. I enjoy dual perspectives. This was more like just copy and paste with the H repeating exact what the h said. The over use of music ( I usually love songs in a book) was annoying and took me out of the story. The intimate moments seemed awkward and stilted.
Wonderful story ,great mixture of love ,sex, baring ones soul and kicking some crap to the curb, Full of surprises. Has you wondering ...Just what is going on. 5 stars
I jumped/dived into reading this book not knowing what it is about and I can't believe it was paranormal romance book which I rarely pick up. BUT it was simply amazing , it's different from what I usually picked so it was nice amazing surprise which I LOVE IT!
ps: The book should be accompanied with amazing book cover, that one doesn't do it justice. pps: Would given it 6 stars if the last part 3 a bit longer with more punch edge depth around Gabriel before the "the end".
The Watcher was the first book (of three) I read by this author and I fell in love with it. The story drew me in and I found many of the personal struggles faced by the main characters to be very relatable. I loved the way the songs mentioned throughout the book set the tone of certain scenes and gave you a glimpse of the moods of some of the characters, which helped immerse me into the story. Also, the paranormal twist on it was unexpected, and I had fun trying to figure out Gabriel before his reveal.
I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a great, well-written romance novel with a supernatural undertone.
Lily married to a man that gives her no respect, but she is trying to keep her marriage together. She is a full time student and working. Ryan says he is working a LOT (sure he is!) and gives Lily only negative attention. Then we meet Mr. Green Eyed God (swoon), after class on the final day. Mr. Green Eyed God has noticed Lily. And Lilly has noticed him!
Once Gabriel set out to meet her, there was no turning back. Not understanding the attention he is giving her all of her insecurities run rampant. I felt for her and I totally get it. I really do. What does this beautiful green eyed man want? Why is he paying so much attention to Lily? Nothing like song references to make one “feel” the moments in a story either and there are plenty of those in here too!
Gabriel….aka green eyed god…. cares about Lily very much and has wanted her for two years. Ryan, ugh...ladies this guy no!! Just wait till you read what he did and how he does it!!! Gabriel is there for Lily, the entire time. I feel so bad for her but at the same time I am so jealous, lol. I mean she gets Gabriel comforting her!! Mr. Green Eyed God……*sighs…….how does he seem to know exactly what she needs or wants? (Ladies we could all use that!!)
So Gabriel has secrets and we find out soon enough exactly what has happened to him. He will not let Lily go, he has waited too long for her. He will wait for her as long as it takes (while dealing with her emotions over her marriage). These two are so cute together! Absolutely adorable. The banter and the obvious desire he has for her and vice versa. Lily just needs to accept what this is for what it is and let it happen. Her trust issues run deep.
When the ex tries to come back she is strong enough to walk away. The man who belittled her, made her feel bad about herself, compared her to other women. The lies the deceit, Lily sees thru him. Gabriel won’t take this sitting down, he owns her in every single way. “Mine” he tells her. And so they slowly start to build a foundation for a relationship. Gabriel tells her everything. His childhood, what happened to him, what he is. Who his father is. How he has hidden from his father. After everything that has happened between them, the love and passion they have for each other it’s just perfect! I loved this book!!!
I was contacted by the Author and given a free copy for an honest review... Gabriel is so demanding, mysterious you know somethings but are left in the dark since he is hesitant to share his past with Lily and in turn us as the reader. I was jumping to conclusions left and right.. Is he a vampire, a ghost, a werewolf or something all together new? Lily is stuck in a lifeless marriage and once she realizes she is worth more then the dumbass says she is, she starts to move on and Gabriel helps her with her new found sexiness. Twists and turns, cliffhangers along with BDSM, a dominant sexy man.. Need I say more? I want more of Gabriel and his stories. I am hoping for squeals and spin offs, and maybe Novella's.. are in the works with Ms. Jean!!!!
OMG was it amazing or whatttt. To be honest I'm not a fan of the whole [spoiler] thing . But I did love loved the story and how wrapped up in it I got. I honestly felt apart of the story. I laughed and I straight up cried. But dang it was soooo good and those sexy time scenes were H.O.T. T. T. just saying . Bravo on your debut book. You killed fo sho
Rhiannon did a great job of pulling the three novellas together to make a more complete story of Lily and Gabriel and her additions to the story were the perfect touch! Couldn't put it down!
