I am somewhat abashed to admit the degree to which I found this book both charming and entrancing. When did I begin to associate cleanliness and wholesomeness as dull and boring? My apologies to both the author and those of you kind enough to take a few moments to read my reviews. I have done a grave disservice to my fellow readers and an even worse disservice to the many varied and talented authors whose books I read. Being incapable of actually lovingly crafting the plethora of words available in the English language into something as magnificent as a written work of art I am quite simply ashamed of the presumption I possessed. So, for what it's worth, my humble & heartfelt apologizes to my fellow readers and ALL the authors who admit us a unique view into your hearts and souls. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Felton promised his dying friend that he would marry his sister and protect her. Once Gilly died, Felton made it home from the war and was going to keep his promise. He remembered Louisa as a gangly, awkward girl. What he finds instead is the most beautiful woman he has ever seen. He must woo Louisa to win her from another man. A great wholesome honest story!! Loved it!!
The war the death of a friend and age final!y allow felt on to Bevin life in an unselfish manner. Marriage is selfless giving and Louisa at much younger age was mature enough to enter into a relation ship that put her spouse ahead of herself
It was cute with great writing it was just over too soon and the romance wasn't even romance. They talked about it then the last few pages they were in love all of sudden.
While I appreciate how clean this book was, the story was kind of boring. The first part was too slow and the romance was rushed. Also, the storytelling and writing could have been better.
