Voodoo Rituals: A User's Guide

Rate this book
Influence the unconscious mind. To practice Voodoo is to enter the ancient world of Magik, where secret arts developed from rituals held by ancient pagans, Native American tribes, Haitians, and Wiccans. Understand Voodoo’s underlying ideas and learn to make use of its powers with illustrated instructions and exercises. Use charms to bring good luck to your relationships, finances, and health--or curses to keep away harmful forces and persons. Make and employ the full range of sacred dolls, candles, incense, ritual clothing, swords, knives, needles and nails, goblets, keys, mirrors, musical instruments, amulets, and masks, for charm or curse symbols to place in your room, car, or clothing. Breathing exercises enable you to enter trances, contact the unconscious and even the dead.

It seems there are a lot of bad reviews of this book I think that is because of the title It simply does not do justice to this book Think of this book as various magic systems with a voodoo orientated theme. You will learn more about voodoo however at the same time you will learn other highly important and valuable magical systems that will improve your life if you can manage to understand and keep an open mind. It does not go into great detail of the magical systems however it does give the ideas and spells needed to start producing your own magick With this book you can also further progress your own magical abilities as well as learn to defend against the darker arts. That's just my point of view however Find out for yourself

This book includes rituals associated with the Druids and other forms of European paganism. If I wanted to know about those groups, I would have just bought another book. That being said, this book does appeal to creativity, and even if the rituals aren't strictly West African in origin, they have the potential to work. Perhaps most disappointingly, this book contains nothing about West African or Afrocaribbean divination, which is an essential part of voodoo/Santeria practice.

Also, the stuff about ritual garments is bull. You don't have to make your own garments for your magic to be effective-- simply wearing the color of your Orisha will usually do, if not just a fully white outfit.

So far, it's pretty stinking swell. I'm into this type of stuff, but I don't know. Something about this book makes it unique, yet idiotic. :o (In a Good Way)
