Interesting paranormal story.

I loved Styx and his alpha maleness. He saw what he wanted and took it.

Audrey was a good heroine. I couldn't blame her for her initial pushing away. She was fleeing from being a sex slave only to wind up in a cave with a man claiming she was to be his mate.

I was surprised at how long it took him to claim her. It wasn't until the 90% mark. I was expecting a little more steam earlier on.

Nice epilogue a few years out.

What an enjoyable story! This was a great epic love-mate story that was too short but complete and that was a major plus.
Yes it had smut but it also had a story that worked for the most part to making a reader feel like they had entered an alternate reality.
He sees her and that's it, they are fated mates. She is not convinced of this at first but it does not take her long to figure out what an amazing catch she has in this beastly human.
Enjoyable and a keeper.

This was a fast, fun, hot read. If you like Alexa Riley you will love this book, it had the same feel to it(not copied). One night Audrey hears a lot of noise in her house and she knows it's the slave sellers. They capture people and sell them. Being taught about them her whole life Audrey knows her brother will be sold as a field worker, her mother an in home slave and she will be sold as a sex slave. Being taught all her life to run if they ever come, Audrey can't find the will to leave her family but when she runs towards her mother and brother she finds it's too late and she is taken.

Audrey can't believe what her life has turned into and finding that she is sold Audrey is devastated. When Audrey see's her chance she escapes she takes it, only to pass out from injury. Styx left his family for solitude and likes it that way. When he see's a hurt human woman he knows she is his mate, so he takes her home to care for her wounds and to make her his. Styx can't believe how beautiful his new mate is and how lucky he is but when she wakes she doesn't feel the same way. Now Styx will have to convince he she's right where she needs to be.

Styx was a great hero the second he see's Audrey he knows she is his and his life focus alters and revolves around her. Audrey is it for Styx. Audrey has a lot to come to grips with in her new reality including learning she hasn't escaped from one prison to another. This book is sweet (and yes some hot as well)and I liked seeing Styx and Audrey get to know each other and fall in love. Styx is so devoted to Audrey you couldn't not love him, I really liked this one, I loved Audrey and Styx but the world Jenika Snow created was very fascinating and I hope we get more and that this turns onto a series.

Great quick PNR read. I loved Styx. He was so sweet and gentle with Audrey but a warrior and savage the rest of the time. He cared for her when she needed it most. I love mate stories. I love that element of them seeing their mate and knowing immediately.

A short sweet read, of a post apocalyptic world, where Audrey escapes the slaves after her family is murdered and meets Styx, who is a savage.
Styx is looking for a mate and when he sees Audrey he claims her.
The book was a bit slow- with Audrey being reluctant and Styx being neanderthal. Also there was overuse of my favorite words seed, mate and fertile.
That being said, extra half rating for the sweet epilogue.

Audrey knew the Slave Traders had come for them moment she bolted awake from her mother screaming. All went well except she stood frozen after witnessing the murder of her mother and was captured by the slave traders when the opportunity to flee rose she went and run. Running to the woods for freedom.

Styx had been living all alone in the forest and had lost all hope of a family when one day he found Audrey and thought 'MINE'. Styx was convinced she was his mate but Audrey wasn't convinced and it took her awhile to see it when she was so focus on gaining her freedom but in the end after being saved by Styx she finally realized what a great catch her was.

The story is sweet and would recommend it to all who like paranormal romance. HEA with no cheating.

WOW, JUST WOW!!!

This is a fantastic story with a HEA. Audrey has suffered so much. Her family killed and she sold into slavery was all thrust upon her. When Audrey escapes and gets rescued by Styx, it is all she can do is survive but survive she does. Styx and Audrey have quite an adventure. The plot and characters are very well written and developed. A very good 👍 read.

When you thought your life was over, but instead found the light

I love this story! It’s a shame it has such a tragic beginning, but all of the pain and struggles are worth it when the characters reach their HEA. I mean who wouldn’t love a hot, alpha male who has eyes only for you. All of his actions are only to keep you safe and happy. Grab your copy to fall in love today.

I would give this 2.5 stars, maybe 3. I wish there was more about the world in which it takes place. Also, I was disappointed in the ending. I don’t feel like it built up to anything more than Audrey agreeing to have Styx as her mate. And then it just ended! I was like, wait—where’s the climax? Where’s the rest of the book?!

First book from this author, HEA story with a great start but a disappointing end, almost all the action happened before the main characters met. I was not able to form a relationship the H or h, which in my case is an important part of a story. Nevertheless, I like the book as a filler.
