Every chapter of the Bible summarised in 140 characters or less. These summaries originally appeared as the @biblesummary project on Twitter. For three-and-a-half years, Chris Juby posted one tweet per chapter, one chapter per day to 30,000 folowers, finishing the project in November 2013. This edition is the full archive of all 1,189 summaries.
Chris Juby is Director of Worship at King's Church Durham, a songwriter, author and freelance web developer. For three-and-a-half years from 2010 to 2013 he summarised the Bible on Twitter - one tweet per chapter, one chapter per day. The @BibleSummary Twitter account gained 30,000 followers and was featured in the media all over the world. He has now written an introductory overview of the Bible for Authentic Media called '@BibleIntro: A Bible Handbook for the Twitter Generation'.
The perfect summary that I go back to again when I lose my place in the story of Scripture. Great for preaching and teaching too when you can't find succinct ways to summarize chapters of the Bible. Glad there's a paperback so I don't have to rely on X or on the Website.
What an amazing project to undertake and how beautifully it was done! Every single chapter of the Bible summarized on old fashioned Twitter, 140 characters or less.
I bought the book to have on hand to coordinate with my Bible study and out of respect for Chris Juby's work. He offers the complete project on his website but I prefer book form that is easier to flip through when I'm looking for something.
No, of course it doesn't replace reading my Bible but I enjoy reading through the summaries and I respect Chris Juby's dedication and artistry.
Thanks to Chris Juby I finished the Bible as a summary. He has explained it well and I was able to comprehend as much as I could without knowing the historical period in which the Bible events took place. There is a lot of information I’ll have to reread it to fully comprehend the Bible as a whole.
