Cute little book. Very basic. Briefly covers topics like vegetables and herbs, perennials, bulbs, trees and shrubs, compost, common garden pests, and landscaping, then gives book/website resources in the very back. This isn't the book you want if you are looking for comprehensive gardening knowledge, but it would make a nice gift and looks cute on the shelf.

This read more like a series of blog posts than a coherent book. Wouldn't recommend it to a beginner; the explanations are often so short that they're almost useless.

Such a comprehensive guide to gardening that empowers you. After reading I felt like I c old make my own arboretum. Now I just have to see how expensive this new potential hobby can end up.

This book was cute, but not super useful as a jumpstart. I learned a few tips about cuttings and moss (did not know you could order moss milkshakes to grow moss), but I was overall a bit disappointed in some of the suggestions, for example, the recommendation to plant periwinkle as a ground cover, though it’s invasive in many areas. Also, I was surprised that the book covered carnivorous plants and houseplants to heavily - that doesn’t seem to be the topic of the book.

This is a tiny book but packed full of great information! I bought one for my mom, who also loves gardening. This book has advice about home remedies to pests, which are the best type of tomatoes to grow, and how to make your own compost. It also has a great resource section at the back. (Non-fiction) May 9 – 5 STARS!

I've kept it on my nightstand for a few pages whenever my mind is whirring before bed. Inspired me to plant some fruit trees one day and did the trick to put me to sleep with delectable, pastoral descriptions. :)

This short little book was a perfect gift for me, a devoted gardener! It’s pretty basic garden information, but still I learned a few handy tidbits and got inspired to try a few new vegetables in my garden.

very basic knowledge

But good for the beginner gardener who won’t be overwhelmed and therefore receive good advice from this.
Well sorted chapters, bullets for quick glance.
It was on sale, or i would be disappointed at purchase.

This is really more of a book you consult when you're having a question about gardening, and it's filled with lots of good tricks and tidbits. I knew some of them, I learned others, and I will go back and learn more in the coming years, I'm sure!

It was good to do a full read through this book but likely wouldn’t do again. However, still needed to read it all through because now I know what info it has so I can easily reference for gardening planning. Definitely a good reference book.

Read this with little to no garden experience and learned of a bunch of stuff I had never known before but this is a very short book that simplifies everything it touches on so I don’t know that it would be much use to an intermediate or advanced gardener but who knows. Reading more rarely hurts.

In the attempt to turn my black thumb green I picked up this little book In the hope to get some tips to be a better plant mom. Overall this is a great tool for people who are new to gardening or gardening pros. I discovered a lot of plants that I'd like to grow in my yard one day.

Good, simple, easy to digest advice for the new gardener. I wish there was a little more detail or structure to the advice presented, but as is, it certainly does its job well.

So Useful

What I Ioved the most about this book was how simple and clean the format is. A lot of gardening books tend to be complicated but I feel like anybody could follow along with this one. It also caters well to people who have limited space, and has a fair share of potted plant and dwarf tree advice.
