Death beckons, calling Evie Myers to the darkness. She isn’t ready to leave, and Clay isn’t ready to let her go.
After fighting back from the brink, Evie’s life is forever altered. Together with Clay, she finds a home and sanctuary within the fae community. Everything has changed, and life is perfect. Or so they believe.
They soon learn their trip into the heart of the Rain kicked off a revolution, and Clay is called back into the fold. But when Evie needs Clay the most, one mission will risk it all.
When her happy ending hangs in the balance, and everything looks lost, how will Evie find the strength to fight for what she wants the most?
Purveyor of words. Creator of worlds. Destroyer of feels.
Once upon a time, Michelle worked in a dreary office with only the voices in her head for company. Now, the voices in her head are characters on the page who will break your heart, lift your spirit, and make you feel like you have found new friends.
IGNITING THE SPARK takes up from where INTO THE RAIN ended, where Evie was shot and left fighting for her life. She survives with the help of Fae magic, and everyone returns to an idyllic life within the fae community. Clay and his siblings are embracing their Fae heritage, while Evie is accepting the changes within her now that her time with her sunbird has come to an end. They are blissfully happy and can't wait to spend the rest of their lives together, and just when you think they shouldn't have to endure any more hardship, it seems the worst is yet to come. The changes within the Rain means that Clay is able to return to doing what he loves most: hunt evil beings. But when Clay goes on a mission he wasn't supposed to go on, he goes missing and Evie is left without her soulmate.
"I wish I remembered what it felt like to be that happy. It would be nice to feel something other than hate and confusion.
IGNITING THE SPARK is told only in Evie's POV and is the final book in the Daughter Of Fire series. Each book in the series is a continuation, so they cannot be read as stand-alones and must be read in order to appreciate the story and all its events. For me, the end of a series can go one of two ways: I'll love it or I'll be left disappointed. As much as I loathe to say it, I wasn't overly sold on the ending here. Why? Because I'm unclear about the outcome. Obviously I can't talk about it without giving away a major spoiler, but I'm honestly not sure if "it" worked. Evie thinks "it" worked, but Clay never clarified, and if "it" did work, that's where my real problem lies, because I felt Clay's immediate reaction was out of character for him. If "it" did work, he should have been devastated about what he'd done to Evie, but he wasn't. Which has me thinking that perhaps "it" didn't work. Which means I'm going around and around in circles. That being said, I thought the epilogue did a great job of showing that they really did get their happily ever after, and it's about damn time too. I've watched Clay and Evie come together as they were destined to, only to see them torn apart over and over again due to misunderstandings and outside forces. IGNITING THE SPARK was no different and I enjoyed the rollercoaster ride that Michelle took me on. I have loved each and every book in this series and I'm sad to see it come to an end.
It is said that a book is five stars if it stays with you. If you can't wait to know what happens next and if it can convey a deeper meaning to the reader. So, I say that this book and for that matter, the whole series is five stars.
In this book, Evie and Clay face a challenge that is going to test them and their soulmate love once again, but with a finality that threatens to ruin their whole family. This is a book that I would recommended you read as part of the series to give it more depth of emotions.
It is a book filed with monsters and evil and the others they hunt. The story is a cathartic experience. I was crying real tears for the characters. The strength and determination of Evie was so intense. I was touched by the pure romantic love Clay and Evie shared. Even the secondary characters have layers and the plot is so exciting that I found it hard to put down.
The author makes you need to love and hate every character as she weaves this tale. I truly didn't see the twists and turns as they unfolded. This made the plot exciting and mysterious. I truly love the books use of everything. I mean things mentioned in passing or in other books in the series became clear in this book.
I recommend this book to those who enjoy books with depth. The themes of "star crossed lovers" and "love is the most important thing" are shared with the evils of discrimination and hatred of the unknown.
I was given this book in turn for an honest review.
The wait is finally over, the conclusion to Evie and Clay's story from Evie’s POV is finally here! I have been eagerly awaiting the fourth and final book in the daughter of fire series and without any doubt Michelle Irwin has written another epic book and given us an action packed and suspense filled conclusion.
I was captivated and enthralled into this final book from the very beginning. All along this series has been fresh, strong, intriguing and emotionally spellbinding.
Evie and Clay deserve to be free, they deserve a life time of happiness, but it never comes easy. They are hell of a force to be reckoned with, however the attacks keeping on coming. I was once again fighting for them, fighting for their freedom, fighting for their happiness and fighting for their family to be whole and safe.
This story calls to your emotions on so many levels. I found myself completely in love with Evie and Clay and my heart full off happiness, which was soon ripped apart and replaced with worry and anger to then find my heart completely breaking and fighting for what they both deserved. Without any doubt Michelle has poured her heart and soul into this series.
I'm sad to see this series end, although I am really excited to read the next two books in the Son of Rain series which is Clay's POV. I know that there is so much more to know about their journey. Michelle Irwin writes brilliantly and effectively to give us both Evie and Clay's POV'S in the two series without repeating what we already know.
If you love paranormal books with a romantic, action packed and suspense filled element you will absolutely love the Daughter of Fire series by Michelle Irwin. This series does need to be read in order, starting with book #1 Through the Fire. I also recommended reading the Son of Rain series.
Okay, so this is one of those books that I have been waiting with baited breath for but when it hit my kindle, I kinda put off reading it for a little while because by reading this book I was saying goodbye to the series and I really didn’t want to do that.
This was one of those series’ that just sucks you in and swallows you whole. You feel everything the characters are feeling and are just unable to put the book down until you have read every last word.
The Daughter of Fire Series follows Evie, a young phoenix and Clay, a member of a secret organisation known as The Rain, who hunt all non humans.
Igniting The Spark is the fourth and final book in the Daughter of Fire series and picks up where the previous book; Into the Rain finished off. You do need to read the previous books in the series as its a continuous storyline: 1: Through the Fire 2: Rise from Ash 3: Into the Rain
Due to the epic cliff hanger in Into the Rain, I don't really want to go into the storyline of Igniting the Spark as I don't want to spoil this for anyone.
What I will say is that this book was the perfect conclusion of Evie and Clay's story and I absolutely adored it. I finished this book a few days ago and I'm still mourning the fact that its over and the story is complete.
This is one of those series' that will stay with me and I'm really going to miss Evie and Clay.
Wow Michelle Irwin has done it again, just when you think everything is going to be a happy ever after she throws another compelling twist to it that enhances the final story of Evie and Clay. Michelle's story grabs you in the first passage and holds your interest all the way to the end, has you second guessing where the story is going to end up. A very fitting end to a lovely series.
I really need to see the Son of Rain series finished so we can finish Clay's side of the story.

Wow, what story!! I definitely recommend reading the entire series, starting from the beginning. This book picks up where Into the Rain ends, making it impossible to understand what’s going on unless you have read the rest of the series. We have followed Evie and Clay since their first meeting in high school, now they are adults and have spent that whole time either running, hiding, or fighting the Rain. Evie is pregnant and they have a wedding ceremony while they are with the Fae. But, because of her pregnancy they need to leave the land of the Fae and head back to the mortal plane. Once there, Clay goes back to helping his brother in their quest to stop all the bad things that attack humans. Evie and Clay have not had an easy relationship, and this book is no different.
Michelle Irwin’s writing is so good… I mean one click addict good. Whenever I hear she has a new book coming out, I start watching for teasers and such. Whether its paranormal romance or contemporary, she has a style that hooks you in from the first page and doesn’t shake you loose until you read “The End”. She has definitely become one of my favorite authors!

Wow what a roller coaster of emotions. I have loved this series, I was extremely happy to receive this book to review.
Michelle Irwin writes fantastic stories, I have enjoyed going through Evie's events with Clay the missed chances, the escapes have kept me glued to my kindle.
In the final book I wasn't sure what was going to happen especially how book three ended. But I was in for a shock at what actually does happen, it left me gutted and not sure I wanted to keep reading, but I'm so glad I did. Evie and Clay again go through so much, but I love how Evie had the others beside her and I really do love Ethan. I can't say much as it would just completely ruin the story.
I'm gutted its finished Evie and Clay's story but I would love to hear about Ava and David next.
Looking forward to see what Michelle Irwin has up next.
I was given an ARC in return for an honest review.
I finished this book last night and I'm still at a loss. I absolutely LOVED this series. It kind of broke my heart in the best way possible. I don't want it to end. At least I know I still have Clay's POV to look forward to, especially after the twins and his memory loss! What a twist! I'll admit I was about to throw my kindle at the wall, my heart broke for Evie. But I am so SO happy with this ending! After everything Clay and Evie have been through a happily ever after was much deserved. Amazing book, amazing series Michelle Irwin. Honestly for me 5+ stars.

Igniting the Spark by Michelle Irwin I read the first three books in this series (as they are not stand alone, rather all portions of the same ongoing tale) in order to be able to do a review on book four. I found the first book, which introduces us to most of the main characters to be a bit of a ramble. Book two picked up the pace quite considerably and by the time I got to book four we were cooking! The series follows the story of Evie who has to try fitting into the normal world while learning to control her abilities as a Phoenix as well as her feelings for Clay, a Hunter of all "others". The story explores the issues of tolerance and its evil twin intolerance, trust and friendship not only amongst humans but also between others and humans. It chronicles Evie's struggles to survive in spite of being hunted like an animal and in book four comes to a very satisfying and exciting conclusion.
*** I voluntarily reviewed this book, I gained no monetary incentives nor was I specifically requested to review the book, these are my honest ramblings and I hope you enjoy reading them - kat***
THIS BOOK is the conclusion of the Series in Evie's POV but the story will not be completely over until Clays POV is given as Michelle Irwin has written these companion series very well giving the reader more with each book without really repeating the storyline that much. This is the best companion series I have read so far, and in a way, I will be sad, but I can always re-read them again.
OKAY!!! I actually read this book in order due to me being indisposed when it released - and by in order I mean after Clay's Book Court the Fire, and for the best overall read, I recommend that you read in this order:
and Yet To Be Named Sons Of Rain Book 4 when its released in 2017 (Michelle has promised that it will be next year) This book is on my can't wait list as what happens to Clay in this book was like OMG!!!
OK now onto this Review:
At the end of Courting the Fire we were left with a big dramatic ending, and now that Evie is recovering within the fae community, life is perfect. ( But Ms. Irwin is mean, that is not good enough for her wicked author ways, she makes it a bit harder for them to get their HEA!)
The Rain is having an internal revolution, and Clay goes back to work with Ethan. Promises are broken and when Evie needs Clay the most, he leaves promising to return.
Well, we all know that the book would be boring if nothing happened, and boy did it just.
Ms. Irwin has taken the reader on a roller coaster ride of emotions, she had me in tears, gripping my kindle, shouting at Clay, wanting to kick Ethan... you get my drift?
I can't say much about the plot without giving much away, so all I can say is that this series will be on the TOP FAVE PNR Authors with Nalini SinghRachel M. RaithbyA.K. Michaels I have not read any book of Ms Irwins that I haven't loved, and if you like Contemporary Romance with speed check her other series out as they are just as entertaining and well written.
The Characters are like real people to me, I have watched this couple grow and deal with issues of Family hating their union, being on the run and still finding happiness in the little things, yes this is fantasy but when I am reading their story, in my head its real, and they find happiness in the midst of tragic circumstances, it makes you think about what problems you perceive as hard and you realise that yes, life's not so bad. That's why I read HEA's because even though they may be fiction/fantasy or plain old made up Contemporary Romance. you can take their experiences and take inspiration to add to your real life. Well, that is what I do, but I know that every reader is different.
The Story flows well, and we are taken deeper into the realm of lore and myths as the story evolves, I like how Michelle adds more tidbits to the actual supernatural world that exists in myth, and makes me want to google and find out more.
I will say that we are left wondering at the end - and I mean before the Epilogue ( and this is where I say that we will really not know the real ending until Clays 4th Book) Ms. Irwin has sneakily not really answered the question, but we do get our HEA in the Epilogue so I finished this book with an AHHHH and a smile on my face. and a secret wish that the author will do a Sub-series involving the next generation ( Are you reading this Ms Irwin, hint hint!)
