Whoa whoa whoa, was this good
Well where do I begin? Yes I like Mark, a lot. How could I not, he’ll always be a favorite, and the whole gang and jokes still keep coming, and just as always I can’t get enough. But after reading Keith’s story, OMG let. Me. Tell. You. I just fell even more in love.
“Savi,” Mark called out, holding Olivia like she might bite him. “Your child smells like old beans, and frankly, I can’t handle it. Cole and I voted, and you won. Here.” He brought the little lady over to her mommy, who scooped her up and kissed her chubby cheeks. “When will she be potty trained?” “She’s just walking, Mark. How about we don’t rush my daughter through her childhood?” He laughed. “Just give me a date, and I’ll mark the calendar.” “Daddy owes Mommy big time.” Savannah’s face scrunched at the smell. “I know; why don’t we leave your diaper in his office so he can have a little taste of what you make after he feeds you from his plate?” “Oh, please, let me tape it.” Mark smirked. “If you play dumb when it happens, I’ll let you show the world.”
“Keith.” Cole nodded for me to follow. “I think I found the perfect place.” “Oh, great.” I followed him to the stairs, but something caught my eye. I raised an eyebrow at Abigail and Doc Roberts enjoying a kiss in the kitchen. “Hey, Mark?” I couldn’t help myself. He looked up from his phone. “Savannah made cookies.” “What?” He jumped to his feet and headed over as I pointed and waited. “The woman never told me. I’ll have to—” He rounded the corner and flinched, turning his head dramatically. “Really, Abby? This is a place for food!” “Oh, grow up, sweetheart.” Abigail scowled at Mark, then beamed up at Doc Roberts, who was fixing his tie. “Did Mia get pregnant by a stork?” “Haven’t you left yet?” Mark hissed at me as he stomped toward the stairs.
This story has you all over the place it’s that good. I was up so late reading this book that I finally had to force myself to put it down, at 3AM. Yes 3. AM. When I did finished the book, I was so tired and drained, but oh so wanting more. Keith truly is a good and heartfelt person especially to those he loves. When it comes to family or someone he cares about he will stop at nothing for them if needed, and that is exactly what he does for Lexi. His one and only first love.
“Give me strength! Between you and Savannah, I’m going to have a stroke at forty.” Who was Savannah? He moved around to open the passenger side door. “Please, get in.” I waited a few beats to calm my anger and to fuel his. With a heavy sigh that I didn’t try to hide, I moved around to the front of his truck and placed a hand on the door and the seat. He suddenly grabbed my hips and hoisted me inside. “Jesus, I should’ve expected that.” He ignored my comment and pulled off my boot to dump out the water. He did the same to the other. “Keys?” He held out his hand with an annoyed look. Biting my tongue, I removed them from my jacket, thankful they didn’t fall out when I took my unexpected swim. I handed them to him, and he slammed the door shut.
You can really see that, Keith was raised right by a good family.
Keith might ravish me when were alone, but he was respectful when others were around us.
So when you meet Lexi his first love/ high school sweet heart, in his book. Someone who he’s always loved and cared about, you can’t help but instantly like her. There’s just one thing, after Keith’s deployments and years apart, Lexi has been through some stuff that isn’t good or exactly pretty and isn’t like the girl she once was. She’s gotten mixed up with the wrong kind of people, and is now keeping a secret that she’s been holding in for a while. Lexi is constantly trying to push Keith away like she doesn’t still have feelings for him, but of course Keith won’t have it. He still sees the girl he once loved so much and is determined to do whatever it takes to save her and prove, how right they are for each other. The only thing is, can Keith save Lexi before it’s to late and everything goes really really bad.
She cleared her throat. “I want to ask you something, but you have to promise not to kill Abigail.” “Depends.” She muttered something about the fact that she shouldn’t, but I knew she was going to ask it anyway. “Besides Three’s wedding, are you home because of a woman?” “Oh! Step back!” Mark shouted from the background. “Keith has a lady friend? Road trip! Shotgun!”
(AGAIN LOL WHO DOSEN’T LOVE MARK)
So once again this is definitely a five star book to me. This is a must read series and I’m glade I’ve read it.
